  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) Weird timing for this comment. They were tied with the Rockets late in the 4th when the Rockets were without 3 starters - including Dwight Howard. And then the best pg on earth said f*** this and took over the game. Yes, the Rockets were short-handed. I still think GS is better. Best back-court on earth? Check Elite defense led by three of the top 10 defenders in basketball? Check Once Lee gets back their rebounding will be in the top 10. They really have it all.
  2. The Golden State Warriors are the best team in basketball atm. They have no weakness.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2014 -> 06:16 PM) It goes back to what I said earlier about having established veteran winners on the team. Outside of LeBron, Cleveland doesn't have that. Miami had it. Boston had it. The Cavs don't. What "established" winners did Boston have before '08? Oh that's right. They had none.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 8, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) Come on man, there was tons of playoff experience on that 08 celtics team. The big three each got to the conference finals once. Other than that, there was a whole lot of getting knocked out the first round or missing the playoffs all together. Rondo/Perkins had never played in the playoffs either. This no playoffs stuff is just dumb. When all the smoke clears in 6 months, who the f*** in the eastern conference is going to beat them in May? The Bullls will never get to the next level with a 6'1 pg that can't stay healthy for more than a couple weeks at a time and absorbs as much payroll as he does. Toronto? Wizards? Heat?
  5. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 8, 2014 -> 01:53 PM) Perhaps I haven't explained why I don't believe the Cavs are legit contenders this season, let me explain why. I have never said the Cavs aren't a deeply talented team, there's no doubt that they are. I don't they're ready to contend THIS year is because aside from LeBron and a few of the older role players, the Cavs main stars have zero playoffs experience, including their HC. You don't instantly become a playoffs hardened team in year 1. I might've exaggerated by saying the Cavs won't make the CFs, it's the East after all. They definitely wouldn't make it in the West, that's for sure. They have the pieces to be a championship team, it just won't happen instantly like some of you guys apparently think. We saw it come together in a year with the '08 Celtics. Of course, that was the best defensive team of all-time. The whole "never been to the playoffs" stuff is overrated and overblown. Face it, mex. You hate LeBron. You spent 4 years trashing, crying and whining about the Heat and now it's on to the Cavs.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 07:19 PM) James Harden has been other worldly so far this year. That entire team has been other worldly.
  7. The Grizzlies' defense is sick. Reminds me of Indy last year though Feb.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 07:57 AM) The Royals are in danger of getting too cocky. Of course, no team has ever come back after losing the first two at home to take a best of 7, but anything's possible this year. With Guthrie and Vargas going the next two games, it wouldn't be shocking if Baltimore won those two (despite Chen's terrible record against the Royals)...heck, just winning Monday puts SOME pressure back on KC. One thing's for sure. Baltimore HAS to score early to quiet that crowd, because it might be the loudest a baseball stadium has ever gotten. Getting out to a 3-0 or 4-0 lead is paramount. If/when the game gets played due to the impending rainshowers. I have no facts behind this. Just opinion. But the 2-run HR Kerry Wood hit in game 7 against the Marlins was the loudest a baseball stadium has ever gotten. Ever.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 10:56 AM) Kevin Durant out 6-8 weeks. That blows. Bradley Beal out 6-8 as well.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 06:43 PM) The Cavs aren't clearly better than those guys though when you count both sides of the court and they have competition in the East if the Bulls and maybe a few others can stay healthy. This will be a more fun season than the last few unless the whole league gets hurt again. It no longer has the cheating ringer team. The thing is the Cavs have a higher ceiling than Miami due to their sheer size, youth and 3-point shooting. I'm not saying hand them the trophy. But this idea that the east is suddenly wide-open now is ridiculous. It's Cleveland and then the rest.
  11. Watching Cavs/Heat on espn news. I know it's preseason and all. But let's keep it 100. The Cavs are going to be filthy sick. They're going to be the best offensive, passing and rebounding team in the league. They've got the perfect mix of youth/vets. They're deep. The floor-spacing is going to be GOAT level. Only three teams with a shot are Spurs, Thunder and Clippers. That's it.
  12. I have a 5-year old nephew that I babysit quite often. I can't even bring myself to semi-hit him when he acts up. I just put on my Michael Myers mask and scare the s*** out of him. It does the job every time. Much more efficient.
  13. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) Pedro in 2000 had an ERA of 1.74. That was an ERA plus of (get ready...) 291. Sale's ERA+ is "only" 190. Pedro Martinez is possibly the greatest pitcher of all time. You check his B-Ref page and it blows you away. Dude was dominating during the steroid era, just filthy. His peak is the best we've ever seen. Ever. QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 06:55 PM) That is probably the reason he was dominate. gmafb
  14. lmao@greg I don't even have to drink anymore to find comfort. A greg post is all it takes.
  15. Yeah, this is the Cubs. In before 2k5 labels me a bandwagoner
  16. Whatever. Give me freakish athleticism with upside over grindy, try-hard all day, everyday. If Lavine was a Bull instead of Doug McGrindy, folks would be singing a differebt tune.
  17. QUOTE (Felix @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 07:58 PM) Gotta love writing off 19-year old kids that have never played a game in the NBA! #analysis Oh snap. #thereturn. Hey, felix, how do you feel about the wolves' long-term potential at the moment?
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 01:09 PM) It is what it is, man. #selfie QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 11:54 PM) Awkward. I hate you both almost as much as I hate people that excessively take pictures of food and post them.
  19. So Kobe turned 36 yesterday. I still remember watching live the 1997 slam dunk contest that he went on to win. Nineteen f***ing ninety seven!!! Unbelievable how time flies and I feel old as f***. #depressed
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 05:05 PM) Yes, would have been great had he showed it in a lower level. He did. At least early in the year. He'll have much more freedom to display his skills in the nba as college basketball sucks and the coaches micro-manage everything. He's got the perfect blend of length/athleticism to be a sick defensively as well.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) Watch Lavine as he makes a highlight dunk and recedes into the background unnoticed for rest of the game. I'm obviously no scout. But from what I've seen, he's got more to his game than just freakish hops/athleticism.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) You need a new team now that the Heat won't be the best in basketball, so... Just like you and the rest of the board will need a new team to b****, moan, whine and cry about. I'm guessing it will be Cleveland.
  23. Damn, Q. That's worse than what you did to victory a couple years ago.
  24. The Wolves are gonna be must-see tv with Lavine/Wiggins. I'm pretty f***ing excited right now if I'm a Wolves fan.
  25. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 21, 2014 -> 06:47 PM) Oh White Sox Facebook... lol That's just brutal.
