SUCK IT OAKLAND!

I know we all want to see Danks gone, but the games he pitches do still count.

They took 3 of 4....Still pretty sweet for those of us who still wanna see them win,

SALE!!!

Nice last two games with the core guys performing well....now stop winning :)

Great game by Sale. Flowers' homers really may come back to kill the A's season. They go to Seattle for 3 now.

pushing Oakland fans over the ledge has been a lot of fun these past few days. Good job Sox. Avi starting to find a little rhythm at the plate. Good to see.

I think 8-8 will keep them in the top 10, and since I predicted 74-88 before the season started, I'd take that.

I think I went with 77 and 85 or something like that so a bit optimistic but if Avi didn't get injured they'd probably be a couple games better. The rest of the injuries were just the usual stuff but Avi's was a bit of a freak play.

I worked all afternoon and just popped on to see the score.

If the White Sox were in a pennant race I would have gotten no work done and they would have blown it in the 9th.

Semien has that clutch factor

Seconded. Nice 11 game improvement over last year shows progress to prospective FA's and should maintain the protected pick. Fortunately, the Mets, Pads, Reds and Phils have been playing well enough to stay ahead of the Sox. Hope that continues. Probably won't catch the teams below us (maybe Houston), but a great pick can be had at #9, 10 or 11.

Sale makes me weap tears of joy.

It'd be cool to have Chris finish with an era below 2.

Speaking of which, does anyone know the last time an AL pitcher has done that?

Pedro in 2000.

Pedro in 2000 had an ERA of 1.74. That was an ERA plus of (get ready...) 291. Sale's ERA+ is "only" 190.

Pedro Martinez is possibly the greatest pitcher of all time. You check his B-Ref page and it blows you away. Dude was dominating during the steroid era, just filthy.

Had a feeling it was Pedro. And ya, he was something else. Thanks guys.

Pedro also did it with 217 innings. I love Chris Sale, don't get me wrong. But at 180-185 innings (if he gets there), it becomes a little asterisk-worthy.

Thanks for picking me up SS2k5. Wanted to start the game thread last nigh tsince I knew I'd be working when the game started but I forgot and fell asleep. Great game Sale and Semien and Petricka.

That is probably the reason he was dominate.

If Sale finishes with a sub-two ERA and Felix is around 2.15, it'd be a crime for Sale to lose the Cy.

His peak is the best we've ever seen. Ever.

It wouldn't shock me at his size.
