The words "Ozzie ball" should be banished from the english language forever.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 03:12 PM) He might be the worst hitter in baseball right now. He offers absolutely nothing. I'd rather have Zambrano catch for us. Carlos Lee and Brandon Wood say hello. But you're point is taken.

AJP has aged about 5 years in the last 6 months. WE CANNOT TRADE TYLER FLOWERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

The one team the Cubs seem to be able to consistently punk is the Brewers.

NBA playoffs thread
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 09:41 AM) Eh, I would wait a little before I crown them. For Durant, he was always supposed to be an instant superstar since he was in high school. Then they made that rule change regarding playing at least one year college ball. He's certainly a heck of a talent. With that said, the Blazers looked promising as soon as they drafted Oden and had all these lottery picks already on the team and people were ready to give them the West for the next 10 years. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. We'll see what happens. I really really like the team and hope they do end up winning a championship in that town as they have some of the best basketball fans in the world. I didn't crown anybody. I said they're here and they'll be around for a while. And no, Lebron, Duncan, Shaq were supposed to be instant superstars. Many thought Durant would be pretty good right away. Not challenging for best player in the league, MVP status before his third year is even up. And I agree with you about the Blazers. Oden is a mega wildcard. If he's healthy and plays up to what his massive potential was supposed to be, along with arguably the best SG in the league (Kobe's on the decline. Roy might be better than Wade), you have the makings of something really special.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 01:54 AM) Padres 8 in a row and not looking back. I picked a good year to get the Extra Innings package. The NL west is going to be a whole lot of fun to track.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
Looks like Barry Zito might be back. 8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 10 K against the second best offense in the NL. He looked vintage 2002 watching the highlights. If that team gets any type of offense. Wow. Oh, and I'm now convinced the NL west is the second best division in baseball.

4/24 Games
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 06:52 PM) Don't be dissin the best minor league affiliate team we have this year. (or at least that's my opinion, other than Ozzie Ball and others with the Knights love. ) W-S losing 2-0 right now in the 4th. Edwards vs Montgomery (yes.. the Royals 1st rounder) Gilmore, Escobar and Short already have 4 hits combined. Montgomery is sick. And Luke Hochevar is starting to put it together as well. His FB was consistenly 94-96 (topped out at 97) against the Twins tonight. 1 BB, 7 Ks. 9/2 GO/AO.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
The Twins are taking advantage of every frickin' break that comes their way. Game would've been over in 11 had Billy Butler not botched a routine pop-fly that led to a run.

NBA playoffs thread
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 10:47 PM) I can't imagine if the Thunder sign Bosh or even Haywood. They have 3 draft picks from 21-32 that they can keep on rookie contracts for several years as they re-sign Durant, Westbrook etc. Their future is ridiculous. Westbrook-Durant has a chance to be a Stockton-Malone type duo. I was going to post something similar. The rest of the west (and the league for that matter) is being put on notice. The Thunder have arrived and they're not going anywhere for quite a while. But it all begins/ends with Durant. He wasn't supposed to be THIS good THIS fast. And Westbrook is not of this universe. He makes prime Kevin Johnson look slow. Fisher better hire somebody to pull a Nancy Kerrigan on Westbrook.

What would you be willing to give Danks to extend
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) You extend D1; you can still deal him for bats if you think that's the right move. He's probably more valuable if you can buy out an Arb year or two. And anyway...no, you can't have too much starting pitching. Especially the way we develop pitching.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) I'm not huge into these turning point games because it seems when we get a turning point game, it doesn't help us in the long run like after Buehrle's no hitter in 2007, and perfect game last year. Who knows, maybe this team is different. We got two of them the last two nights, though.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) Good news is we're gonna win tomorrow. John Danks is pitching! SWEEEEEEEP. So I guess that means we lose. Afterall, you knew before the game that we were gonna lose today, right?

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) Beckham, AJ, and Quentin combined 0-11. You just refuse to be happy.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
If the last two games can't get this team on an extended run nothing will.

Was Bobby really throwing 95-96? Because Aardsma looks to be throwing considerably harder at roughly the same velocity. Konerko!

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:30 PM) I mean, did anyone really think we were going to win this game anyways? I didn't. Of course not. I made up my mind before hand that we'd lose. I've just sat around for almost 3 hours watching because I have nothing else better to do.

What can Jenks get us
I'd take somebody in high A with decent upside.

Wow! What is with Bobby routinely retiring the first two batters only to f*** it up?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) As of now, this game kind of reminds me of the game back in 05 where Freddy had a no hitter against the Twins and only gave up one hit, which was a home run to Jacque Jones and we lost... Looks like the 8 days off has done wonders for Freddy. Hopefully he can get us one more inning. His PC is only 77.
