Frank Thomas retires
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 06:55 AM) In 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006 he was a BEAST! His presence in 2005 IMO was a huge moral boost to our championship squad as well. He is by far the greatest Sox hitter of all time. I was at game 1 of the 2005 ALDS vs Boston and when he went out to throw the first pitch- it gave me goosebumps! #35- best EVER! Fixed.

Frank Thomas retires
This man is the reason I call the White Sox my favorite baseball team. In his prime, watching him was no different than watching MJ (for me anyway).

Dye says "crowded outfield" prolonged his slump
Only 4 1/2 years? lol. C'mon, Jd. You're better than that. 4 1/2 years is a lifetime in pro sports.

i am drunk
Is it badd when I'm buzzed, on the way to being drunk, before lunch time?

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 10:01 AM) Personally, I actually do I concur. I would like for them to say worse, actually. "Lou Pinella's pregnant ass can suck on a big fat dick!" Somethin' like that. Edit: Wait, I can say dick with no filter? YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARDDDDDDDD, YESSSS!!!!!

How well do you remember the 2005 roster
QUOTE (everafan @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 08:21 AM) I missed Timo and Vizcaino. They wouldn't accept "guy who came over with Pods in the Lee trade" Am I the only one that doesn't understand this one bit?

How well do you remember the 2005 roster
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) World Series Roster. That stumped me a few times. I actually put Shingo as one of our relievers. And for the bench I put Ross Gload.

How well do you remember the 2005 roster
QUOTE (black jack @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 07:15 AM) How the hell did that team win a world series? Looking at the talent now it seems so unrealistic. I guess it pays to get hot at the right time. It's rather amazing when you look back. That had to be the least talented team to win a World Series of the decade (only the 2006 Cardinals were arguably worse). Yet they were arguably the best team of the decade.

How well do you remember the 2005 roster
24/25. I couldn't remember that Luis's last name was Vizcaino. I totally went blank. I put Luis Perez in there and then Luis Hernandez.

Lebron with 47 points, 8 boards, 8 dimes and 5 steals. This dude is so good it's really frightening. He's more of a lock to win MVP this year than he was last year. And that's saying A LOT.

Buehrle would consider retirement
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) Yea, I overreacted and exaggerated that part. Still, I definitely dont agree that that someone should stay and keep doing something just because they are good at it, its his life, if he wants t obe with his family than you should have no problem with that. Talk is cheap. When you're ready to go, go. We don't need to constantly (not saying this is the case, but we've heard this talk from Mark more than once now) hear about it. And I for one don't look at somebody in a different light because they choose to walk away from something they're still very good at early. Like Shack said, that rarely ever happens.

i am drunk
My Soxtalk brothers and sisters! Now I'm not drunked. But I definitely buzzed. So bare with me. If you have a recurring dream about your potential death what does that mean? Because I have dreams consistently about being choked to death by a Mo Vaughn sized anaconda. This freaks me the f*** out. I'll wake up and I'll see the damn snake in my room. One time I screamed like a sissy Bobby Trendy girl. I'm getting worried. What does this mean?

Optimist Award Voting
QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 03:55 AM) Mood swings. Alright then. I didn't know DA was bipolar.

Poster of the Year Award
No qwerty? This is worse than Bartolo Colon winning the CY in 2005.

Optimist Award Voting
How can DA be up for pessimist and optimist?
-
Pessimist Award Voting
What the hell? Kalapse? Q? Jphat by himself trumps those guys. I'll go with fathom by default. Even though he's nowhere near the most pessimistic poster on the board.

Adrian Gonzalez
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 12:50 AM) At this point, if all it would take is Hudson, Flowers, and Danks we might as well do it. We need the shot in the arm, and as much as i dig the idea of both Danks brothers starting for the team at the same time, i'm far more sentimental about a guy who could pop 50 from the left-side. If that's "all" it took it would've been done weeks ago. If (big if) the Padres decide to make AGON available, they'll be some MAJOR competition between multiple teams to top what the other is offering. AGON almost certainly won't be dealt between now and opening day. The earliest I can see is mid-season. Hopefully will have multiple prospects either rake or dominate on the mound in order to legitimately strengthen our would be offer.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) If f***ing Orlando Hudson goes to the f***ing Twins I'm going to flip out. So pretty much what you've been doing for the last year or so? No biggie.

Orlando Hudson Signs With Twins
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) I'm made my feelings about this clear in other threads. Needless, to say i'm displeased with how this division race is going Wait a minute...the division races have already began? I have been passed out most of the last few weeks due to binge drinking.

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (The Beast @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 07:47 PM) Okay, laying this one out there. In today's current environment, when is the appropriate age to get married? Should people get married or serious when they can support themselves? When should anyone have a "serious relationship" and when shouldn't they? It almost seems like in college it's too much to have one. Two seconds before you drop dead.

Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 07:18 PM) Paul Pierce may have a broken foot apparently. That team is in a whole lot of trouble right now. Ray Allen has slowed down signifcantly, Garnett's a shawdow of his former glory, and I'd argue that Rajon Rondo is their best player right now. The Celtics were looking really good earlier this season. Seems like they've aged (aside from Rondo) about 20 years in the last 6 weeks. Still a ways to go, but it's looking more and more like Cleveland should be the prohibitive favorite to come outta the east. The Magic can't possibly hit two trillion 3's like they did against them last year. And they're not as good with Vince anyway. Hawks are good. But they're not there yet. Toronto can't spell defense (though they're fun to watch). Nobody else is even worth mentioning.
