QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 09:07 PM) Agreed, sometimes it's good and sometimes its bad. Mostly good, although it cost them a finals. Yeah, I'll never understand what happened to LeBron in the '11 finals. He torched a KG-led Celtics and Thibs -coached Bulls teams leading up to the finals. The Mavs played some pretty sophisticated zones but still, LeBron shouldn't have been that stifled. That's his one and only black mark, IMO. -

Tonight is a good example. There's like 6 minutes left in this game and LeBron has taken 12 shots. Chris Bosh has taken 20 and is having a great game. That's LeBron and what separates him from past and current greats. He'll scale his game back and let others flourish. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 08:51 PM) The question then is how efficient Durant could be if he decided the league was too hard unlesshe had 2 allstars to make things easy for him. And like with 2k5, I can't talk to you when it comes to the Heat. Your hate is too high. I respect both of you as posters even though we agree on nothing. But you two just can't get over July 8, 2010. I wanted LeBron and Bosh and wouldn't have given two s***s on what other fanbases thought about it. I can't hate because it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) I think J4L was arguing that LBJ forfeits scoring opportunities for himself in favor of teamwide efficiency, something he thinks Durant contributes to less, despite perhaps being able to score more himself Do you really believe LeBron is not capable of 29-30 ppg? That was the whole point of leaving Cleveland. So that he wouldn't have to do that and lead the team in every other category. Durant is spectacular. I'm not hating at all. But he's not LeBron and probably never will be. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) Come on J4L, LeBron is already staring at 30 while Durant is just in his mid 20's. LeBron's athletic prime will come to an end and it'll be interesting to see how he adjusts his game but he won't be head and shoulders better than younger cats by then. I see KD being top dog within the next 3 years the way he's improving season by season. We may already have seen the best of LeBron, I doubt that's the case with KD. Is LeBron as athletic as he was in 2009? Eye test says no. But he's clearly a better basketball player. Every aspect of LeBron's game (jumper, post-game, etc) has improved from years past. With his size/durability/IQ I have no doubt in my mind he'll remain elite well into his 30's. KD is just about flawless as a scorer. But the rest of his game comes up short when matched against LeBron and I don't see that changing anytime soon. -
lmao@duke. And I get called a troll for unpopular basketball opinions? This guy is a ratchet abomination.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 09:47 AM) KD might overtake LBJ as best player in the league sooner than we think. Age certainly is on his side. Not really. Defense, passing/facilitating is still not close. LeBron could drop 30+ easy if he wasn't so efficiency obsessed. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 22, 2014 -> 10:18 PM) Yeah, it makes a ton of sense for you. Love is a tier above Dirk and Lee and Rubio will get you the assists you're going to need with Holiday out. Not to mention nearly 3 steals per game. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 22, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) Fantasy question. I'm in 1st place (w/Durant) and lost my 2nd point guard (1st rose, then Jrue) but have Isiah whose been good. Considering a Rubio/Love for Lee/Dirk deal. I'd be getting Rubio and Love. Does that make sense? Hell f***ing yeah it does. You're getting back by far the best player in that deal. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) Very true. But still, it seemed over the top for even him. Nobody ever says anything about him not being a good CB. In fact, I think most people realize he's one of the best in the NFL. Not sure why he felt the need to play the "chip on shoulder" card. Dude, he's going to the f***ing SB. Let him be. f*** all the grandpa PC s***. Boring as f***. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 01:54 AM) LeBron isn't what a Kobe-Vince hybrid would be. s***, a Kobe-Vince hybrid is the GOAT. That wasn't what I meant. I meant we have a GOAT talent who also has an insane work ethic and pays attention to detail. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 12:28 AM) "Speaking at the Cubs Convention today, Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein said the team erred in promoting Brett Jackson to the majors in 2012, commenting that the outfielder may have required more minor league seasoning (via MLB.com's Carrie Muskat). Jackson struggled to a .175/.303/.342 line in 142 plate appearances, and returned to the minors in 2013 to hit just .210/.296/.330. Epstein explained that then-manager Dale Sveum wanted to work on developing Jackson's swing." Don't worry guys. Baez/Bryant/Almora/Soler are all gonna be stars! You damn right! #hammerheadjohnson aka I want some attention

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 01:34 AM) PG can't touch Vince in overall athleticism I can careless what anyone says and I've back that up for years. I've said it in the past, Vince Carter could of been one of the best SGs (even arguable top 10 player) ever if he had even an ounce of work ethic and gave two s***s about the game. This is true. Vince with Kobe's attention to detail and work ethic would've been devastating. fortunately we've got LeBron. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 12:03 AM) Haha. Calm down. Where is bird in your top 8? Other than MJ at 1, my list changes every week. After MJ (in no order), I've got Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, and I'm thinking Julius (if I'm allowed to include his aba days). edit: I just realized you said top 8. Well, those are my top 10 - for now. Too hard to rank 'em after MJ. Have to put some thought into it. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 18, 2014 -> 11:00 PM) He's been getting separated from magic recently in the top 10. It's weird. I agree with your overall premise though. No worries. Only things about Bird that hurts him, imo, is he came in super late (wasn't he like 24 his rookie year?) and that back cut his longevity down by like a lot. But from 80-87 or '88, s***, I won't even hate on what he did those years. Spectacular. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 18, 2014 -> 10:45 PM) Nah, the player Oh, um, not sure what you mean. He's pretty much right there with Magic, no? He's in most people's top 6-10. That could change slightly with Kobe, Duncan, KG, and Dirk all just about at the end. Still seems like a pretty safe bet for top 10 regardless.
