So who's everybody's pick? I'm going to reluctantly take the Steelers.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) My first thought was “that dude’s paralyzed”, but he’s moving, thank god. Damn. What did I miss? I had already turned the game off.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 08:01 PM) I feel like Flacco's regressing before our very eyes. I don't think so. He just really had no chance against a defense of this caliber. Especially on the road in a game of this magnitude. They desperately needed to run the ball effectively to win the game. And with McClain a non-factor due to injury, the Ravens really had no chance. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) Reed is better, Troy is playing on a healthier team. Even Troy said Ed Reed is the best. Nope. Reed is by far the best ballhawking safety in the league. As Palehose stated, Troy excels at both ballhawking and as a run stopper. Congrats by the way Palehose.

This game is over. This was the worst possible scenario for a Ravens team that is already banged up and had little-to-no-margin for error to start with.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) Thats just not true. javy has been on bad teams and still has had problems, he wasnt all that special in Arizona in 2005, and they went 77-85 Think his point was when Javy has a very good year, more times than not, it's going to be when the team overall sucks. And the facts back that up. Personally, I don't care if Javy goes 20-5 in '09. I never wanted him here to begin with (I rolled with it. We were coming off a championship. Kenny could've traded for anybody and I wouldn't have complained). Javy did flat nothing in three years here besides costing us a potential stud CF for the next decade (Kenny obviously made the trade. Still pisses me off), and hurting our draft position in 2007 by, of course, dominating when were were 20 games out of it.

Flacco looks horrible. The Ravens absolutely have to generate some kinda running game to have even a remote chance of winning. Forcing turnovers helps as well.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) All NFC/AFC title games end with that kind of celebration. 61 years. They deserve it. You wanna say, "Act like you have been there before", but they haven't. It's still lame. You're not champions of the world until you win it all. May as well play the song after winning the division if you're going to play it before you win the SB.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) They actually started out this year really hot, offensively and defensively. It looks like they found that early season form. Cromartie is going to be a good one for a while I guess so. Gotta give a lot of credit to their DC. I'm with you on Cromartie. He had a great game (even with the td he allowed to Jackson. And even then he got a hand on the ball). He's got all the tools to be an elite shutdown CB for years to come. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) Um, Cardinals...you aren't the champions of the world yet. I absolutely hate when that s*** happens. I've seen it in other sports as well. But much props to the 'NFC' champion Cardinals.

Where the hell did this Arizona D come from? They're like +10 now in turnover margin in the playoffs.

Cubs trade Pie
How come every trade the Cubs make, no matter how small, is automatically viewed as a precursor to a Peavy trade? lol.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) I love the idea of Arizona's OC becoming the next head coach of the Bears next year, but will he be bringing Boldin, Fitzgerald, and Breaston with him? Don't forget about their offensive line. Very underrated group. Mike Gandy has dominated today.

Anderson on the CF Situation
And if Brian goes 2006(the last year he got regular playing time) on us again with the bat? No amount of defense will make up for that. Not in the AL. The key with Jerry is to obviously stay healthy and get on base at a good enough clip that his speed can be an asset. I think I'd rather take my chances there.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) That's Cardinals ball, unless I'm missing something. Awful officiating. That ball was never close to hitting out of bounds. Only thing I can think of is the ball skimmed Abiamiri while he was out of bounds.

Fitz is making the Eagle entire secondary look like, well, the Bears'. And it can't be underestimated how much Edgerrin James becoming a factor again has lifted the Cards from a very good offense to a spectacular offense.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 01:23 AM) I think they're gonna get waxed. That Philly defense is straight nasty right now. They've got, like, 9 quality defensive lineman right now. Their secondary matches up very well with their wideouts (especially with Boldin at less than 100%). You're an idiot.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 17, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) Well it was nice to see Legion have a good game. But this is why McCamey drives me nuts, he obviously couldn't make jump shots so attack the basket and create for yourself or someone else. He and Trent were just unbelievably bad today. It's to the point now that I'm shocked when Trent takes a shot that's not a 3. Somebody needs to tell this bozo there's other ways to score the ball. All in all, I wasn't too pissed about the loss. We got killed on the boards (Tisdale, as he pretty much always is when matched up with good bigs, was awful). And MSU's main guys stepped up when it counted. Alex Legion, take away the turnovers, continues to impress.

Anderson on the CF Situation
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 17, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) The only thing Owens does better than Anderson is run. Other then that, Owens is a failure in all aspects of the game. He is terrible in the outfield who does not know how to read a flyball, and his arm is about as good my grandma's. He's clueless at bat, and has absolutely no power. Owens' '07 > anything Anderson has ever done offensively And this coming from probably the second biggest BA fan on this board. Brian is simply a terrible offensive player. He's improved from 2006. But what does that say? It's a shame. I think he's one of the most gifted defensive players in all of baseball. Just too much of a liability with the stick.

QUOTE (YASNY @ Jan 17, 2009 -> 02:31 PM) If it was the worst day of your life due to the results of a ballgame, count your blessings. Especially when you consider it was game 1 of 162. Imagine what a performance like that in the playoffs would've done to her life?

Anderson on the CF Situation
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 17, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) God, why do we think Owens is a baseball player? I'm not high on either Owens or Anderson, but Anderson is eons better then Owens on defense. Fixed.
