QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) HA! This. I can't even imagine the mindf*** he's goin' through right now. He's going to be more cautious/paranoid than ever. I think it's like 5% he comes back this year. -

f***in' a. The west is 18-1 against the east in the last 8 days (42-17 overall). Didn't know it was that decisive. -

Didn't realize Bulls/Clippers is an early start. This one could get real ugly. Clippers are averaging 114 ppg at home. -

Anyway, Pacers/Heat is a virtual lock for the conference finals (Heat winning of course). -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 04:29 PM) This is great f***ing news. Not sure "great" is the word I would use. Looks like early to mid February would be the best case scenario for a return. And with Derrick, add about 2 more months to that. So basically another wasted season. -

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) Is there any difference as to how the Bulls should proceed with the building of the team if this is a 6-8 week injury as opposed to a season ending one? The disheartening thing about this injury to me is that it could put Rose in the dreaded "injury prone" category and as such would mean that he should not be the guy to build the team around. He's already there. Even if this isn't a worse-case scenario, Derrick is a high-risk injury in waiting whenever he takes the court. -

So I've downed about 6 cups of vodka/oj and I feel the need to speak my mind. To Badger, your acqusations (I know I spelled that wrong) are wack. Do you really think i'm sitting here poppin' champagne and lmao at what's happened to rose? i'm not, nor will I ever be, the cuddly, goo goo ga ga homer (think elrockin) bulls fan that i'm sure most people here would love. But I am a bulls fan. Have been for most of my life. This is tragic what's happened to derrick. This is a new golden age for the nba and it's only gonna get better with the '14 class coming in. But to lose Derrick sucks in a big way. For the Bulls and the league. Assuming it's a tear (I guess there's a 10% chance it's something not as severe) then it's official: Derrick Rose's body has betrayed him. No more fluke this or bad luck that. The kid is as injury prone as injury prone gets and can't be counted on for anything going forward. And it's strange. Dude was ironman his first three years. Then the lockout season comes and he's like a 90-year old man. Whatever. the Bulls are bigger than Rose and have to go on. Badger says the bulls shouldn't turn their back on him. THEY LITERALLY CAN'T! They can't amnesty him. Too late for that. They can't trade him. He's ours until he decides to retire or his contract runs out. That said, you have to "forget" about him. The quiet, humbled, hometown superstar that was supposed to take us places we haven't seen since 23 is gone. You can cry, whine, life is over, act like your kid died, etc, etc all you want. But it is what it is. Rose won't be the first or last player that you'll ultimately wonder "what if" when it comes to his career. Bulls need to trade off whatever they can (not butler, Teague or snell) for young players/assets. If you have to take back a bad contract or two (no longterm ones) then so be it. Thibs has to adjust. No more playing your starters insane minutes to win every single regular season game possible. It's year 4. Time to develop, or at least attempt to, some young talent that can improve the future. I won't even talk about tanking because the east is so buck s*** after Miami/Indiana it's not even funny. Ideally the bulls finish something like 34-48 and still have a good shot at a top 6 pick. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 01:38 AM) ...damnit. If his ACL is torn, blow it up. Tank and pray you get Jabari or Exum. Just, this is gut wrenching. They might not have to tank. They have little depth even when completely healthy. Another repeat of '13 is very unlikely. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 01:34 AM) I can see right through you. You added his middle name, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see the disrespect. And its not about relying on him. Its about the fact that when someone is down, you dont f***ing knife them in the back so you can maybe get to some mythical promised land. Wow, can't get anything past you. That's lame and ridiculous. Rose is a high-risk luxury at this point. Anything you can get out of him going forward (there stuck with him no matter what anyway), great. That's as far as it should go. The championship window with this group is officially closed if he's out another year. Everybody from Deng to Benny the Bull should be available for trade. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 01:21 AM) Youre wrong. Youre disdain for Rose is noted, and you are wrong. Im just not sure how you can find any joy in this. Love the Bulls, hate the Bulls, Rose was a gifted player, maybe even a special player that people would remember for years. And if he truly is hurt like they say, its a sad day for the NBA. So right now all any basketball fan should be doing is hoping that its wrong. Because otherwise its just a s***ty day for basketball. My disdain? Joy? What are you talking about? I'm 30. Not 12. The reality is what it is. I'm not going to cry. What would be the point? I've seen Penny, Hill, Amare, Oden, Bymun, Ming, Roy and others careers derailed/ruined because their bodies betrayed them. Nothing you can do. It would be beyond foolish to rely on Rose in any capacity long-term if this is another tear. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 12:55 AM) F that Rose gets a chance to come back. If the Bulls dont show him loyalty, then f*** them as a franchise. He may never be the same, but I would never support turning your back on him. Sorry. Stick a fork in him if it's another ACL tear. You just don't comeback from dual torn ACLs and be the same. The Bulls have to operate as a franchise as if Derrick Martell Rose doesn't exist. -

I don't think the Bulls are a playoff team in the west. At best a 6-8 seed. Their D was shredded in the second half by precise passing/ball movement, penetration and a barrage of 3-pointers by Portland. That's what these west teams do to you. And it's pathetic that with an 80+ million dollar payroll the Bulls have so little depth. Hinrich is already playing way too many minutes, Deng played 43 tonight after 35 or so last night in the Denver altitude. Just a matter of time before one or both go down. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) I wouldn't and it really isn't even that hard of a choice. Davis can be an absolute defensive anchor along with being well above average offensively. He has the potential to be KG on offense (maybe a bit better scoring, but worse passing), with KGs help defense, but with Camby's shotblocking ability. We've seen how valuable a dominant low post presence can be. Wings are easier to find than guys like Davis. Nice reply. Can't say I disagree with anything here. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 12:40 AM) Eh, I shouldn't have said way down. That was stupid. So to go back and be re-visionary LeBron would essentially be the same in an older era. His scoring WOULD drop until he could adapt to the game change (more physicality), but he'd still be a top player in the game. Meanwhile, Jordan would benefit from moving to the modern era. This is a little more reasonable. LeBron would humiliate the 80's as far as I'm concerned. And I want to make it clear that I think prime Jordan would dominate today. 30-32 ppg, 52-53% most years. On a bad team where he was required to shoot A LOT, I could see '06 Kobe with a higher fg% . My beef is when people say he would be more dominant (especially the 40 ppg crap). There's just no evidence, eyes, stats or otherwise, that suggest scoring today is easier than scoring back in his day. None. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 19, 2013 -> 10:21 AM) I want to say I told you so, but jesus dude, it's 10 games. Quit jumping to conclusions. I had a dream that you raped a squirrel. And you didn't even feel bad afterwards. So be quiet.
