Twins Watch Thread 2008
Rays are helping our butts out in a big way. Shame on us if we don't take advantage.

9/20 Sox v. Royals; 6:10PM CDT - WGN
J4L is starting to get that happy feeling again.

Twins Watch Thread 2008
This is gonna be a fun postseason with the Rays finally making it. They're the most fun team in baseball to watch.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
Props to the Scubs. Painful as it is to say. They won by default last year. They were simply the best in the NL this year. Now it's time for the perennial October chokejob. We all know it's coming.

Sox And Cubs in the Playoffs
This will be an October like no other (assuming we get there of course).

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER
We can still beat the Royals, I guess. We should sweep this series. But since we suck ass on the road will probably lose 1 of the next 2. Hopefully we can get a win tomorrow with the stopper going and guarantee us a series win.

Wise is making J4L look stupid.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
This man is the reason I became a fan of the Chicago White Sox and continue to be a fan of the Chicago White Sox. I don't think I can pay him a higher compliment than that.

For Minnesota to catch us now...
Nice post. But I refuse to look past Wednesday's game. One game at a time is so much less stressful.

2nd Half Bullpen
Basically that Dotel has easily pitched his most innings in 4 or 5 years and is probably worn down more than anything. Which makes perfect sense.

2nd Half Bullpen
Let's not forget about the disaster that has been Boone Logan. When he was right and Linebrink was healthy we had a lockdown 'pen.

Loser
I'm starting to think your sig is accurate. I don't agree with "bad" team. But definitely average.

Sox @ Yanks 6:05 on CSN
Oh well. Looks like the Twins are gonna lose. Another day off the schedule and we're still in first. That's the only way you can look at it.

Sox @ Yanks 6:05 on CSN
daa, you can't be serious. Red Sox >> Rays

Pioneer League Championship Series
Thanks for the info guys. I haven't followed our minors at all this past year.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
Well they haven't touched Hamels in two years. Brett Myers has been absolutely filthy since his call-up from the minors (sporting a 1.80 era since the break). Jamie Moyer is quietly having a fine season. And while he hasn't been as good this year, Joe Blanton is a better than average #4. And they've got a closer who hasn't blown a save this year. So they've got some pitching. And they've also got an offense that even few AL teams can rival. Regular season records obviously don't mean much in the playoffs. But the Phils were a horrible call on a Mark Derosa HR (ball was clearly foul) that kept them from sweeping the Cubs back in April. And they were a 5-run 8th inning away from taking 3/4 from the Cubs back in Wrigley a little while back. So they've played them as tough as anybody. The Cubs will obviously be favored against whoever they play. As they should be. But they were favored against the D-backs last year. They were favored against the Marlins in 2003. So we shall see.

But aren't all our "prospects" at the lower levels? IMO, you're not really a prospect until you atleast start producing at high A.

Perfect. So the scenario I'm hoping for right now is for the Mets to win the division with the Phillies taking the WC. The Phils would be a nightmare matchup for them.

I'm drawing a blank. With the Cubs a lock to have the best record in the NL, they would play the WC team in the NLDS as long as it's not the Brewers, right?

2008 MLB Catch-All Thread
Forget everything I've said about Arizona this year. They've been easily, IMO, the most dissapointing team in the league. Especially when you consider how they started.

The system has improved? What have I missed? I'm being serious.

The Scubs have pwned the regular season. No way around it. Yeah, the NL is about as bad as the eastern conference was in the NBA from 1999-2004. But they can only play their schedule. However, I like some of the possible match-ups they're looking at come October. I'd LOVE for them to get the Phillies right off the bat.

Ned Yost
With a competent manager the Brewers, not the Cubs, are going for their second straight division title. Yost was absolutely terrible. He had to go.

So not all of our minor leagues suck? Hooray!
