daa, this team is what it is. This is a HR hitting team first and foremost. It's been that way since about 2000. It's going to take an entire makeover and change in organizational philosophy before you see a change. So it's not even worth complaining about things like OBP, sac bunting, ect. edit: sorry for the late response. I was cooking.

This team simply is "that" good. Detroit and Cleveland fell off the face of the earth. The Royals are still the Royals. That kinda left us right there, along with the Twins, by default. Are we a bad team? No. But we're terribly flawed.

I remember I thought Cleveland was going to sweep Tampa Bay near the end of 2005. That's why they play the games. Will see what happens.

I don't feel good about this series at all. The Blue Jays have some serious talent. I have no idea why they've overachieved so badly. Burnett has been on a roll the last 2 months or so. And you never know what Javy you're going to get.

I'd probably say the Angels. Even though a healthy Red Sox team easily scares me the most. Honestly, even with all our faults, I think we'd be right there with a healthy Crede/Contreras/Linebrink/CQ. I still think we should win the division. But we've got A LOT to overcome to make any kinda run in the playoffs.

You know Jerry Owens sucks when jphat says something negative about you. I really want Owens out of this organization.

I've read through all 245 posts in this thread, and not a single one from Kalapse. I think somebody should check on that dude. This might've been too much for him to take.

And to think, Gavin was looked at as the "throw-in" in the Garcia trade. Big props to Kenny and his staff for seeing that "something" in Mr. Floyd.

This favorite Sox players thing just lost all credibility. How the hell is Willie Harris on this list? I know of one Willie Harris fan on earth. And we all know who that is. I know one thing, Scott Podsednik better come up at some point. If Willie f***in' Harris made it then he better make it.

All you can really ask any GM to do is to put the squad in a position to contend every year. I feel the only year he didn't do that was going into the 2007 season. Besides that, we've always, atleast on paper, had a better team going into a new season than we had the previous season.

Cub fans I know refuse to get overconfident. It's strange. I guess 2003 still spooks them. And off topic, am I the only one, and I'm sure fathom would agree, that thinks Ryan Dempster has a shot at the CY? He's been amazing this year. I have no idea how. And I still think overall he's hot garbage. But he's been outstanding this year.

I actually think Soxtalk changed the minute we won the World Series. It's hard to explain. But that's what I think. I still love this place. The good totally outweighs the bad.

If we do win, and assuming I'm still alive then, I'm leaving the state while the olympics are here. It's going to be total chaos.

Not just saying this because I'm pissed off right now, but I haven't been 100% completely sold on this team at any point this year. We still might win the division (we're extremely fortunate the Tigers and Indians dropped off the face of the planet). But I don't think this team is really THAT good. We look good at times when were we go HR derby on everybody. But this isn't a high level I.Q. team.

Very painful loss. I really don't like this team.
