QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:06 PM) Vazquez is a choke artist of the highest level. I'd start any one of our pitchers over him in any playoff situation. You're probably right. But we all Know Ozzie won't go for it.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:06 PM) His last playoff appearance was when he was under the age of 60. I'm not saying I'm crazy about Jose at this point. But I'd rather go with experience. Basically I just don't want Javy anywhere near the first three games.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) Jose? He's a proven playoff performer. I'd rather have him there than Floyd.

Assuming we get there, my playoff rotation would go in this order: Buehrle, Jose, Danks, Javy.

I'm not that worried about our pitching overall. I didn't expect them to maintain their earlier dominance all year. Even the '05 staff hit a wall around August. But Javy is a nutcase.

I've had enough of the Javy era. This guy will always be a talented underachiever. The only thing he's done in three years here is f*** up our draft position last year.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
I don't care what the records are. The Cubs want nothing to do with Arizona come October. Assuming, of course, they're both there.

Origin behind your name?
Michael Jordan. You guys can figure out the rest.

J4L is headed for the slammer
QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) Any stories? I met a dude in there named no-love who was telling me exactly what went down the night he was arrested. I guess he suspected for months that his wife was cheating but could never prove it. He set up one of those expensive ass hidden camera's in their bedroom to catch the his wife in the act. It worked. So he played it cool for a couple days. Didn't let her know that he knew. So a few days after that he decides that he's gonna let her know he knows what's up. Now she's thinking he's gonna be gone all night. But he comes home way early without telling her. Low and behold she's with the guy again gettin' it on in the bedroom. He busts in on them and he said the other guy almost started crying he was so scared. So he actually had mercy on him and let him go. After that he went and stuck his wife in the face. So after he tells me that I start laughing (No, I don't support woman abuse. No matter the case. So please Steff, have mercy on me). Anyway, one of the other inmates, thirsty, overheard me laughing. And he got in my face because I guess he thought I thought it was cool to hit a woman. He also mentioned that he had a father that used to beat his mother on a daily basis. So he's real sensitive when it comes to that. So before I can even defend myself, no-love steps in front of me and starts talking s*** to thirsty. And it got INTENSE. All kinds of cussing and such. And no-love was talkin' so loud and was so intense that he kinda spit on thirsty. So thirsty throws a punch, no-love throws one right back, and all hell broke loose. lol. And the officer wasn't in the room with us at the time. So they went at it for a good 3-5 minutes before it was broken up. Everynody was instigating and cheering the fight on. lol. I was kinda shocked. Anyway, they both got their own little seperate cells. I never saw either of them after that.

I'm back! Freedom feels oh so good. I got out a few days early due to good behavior. It was f***in' brutal while I was in there. I have learned my lesson.

AJ Burnett, anyone?
I would've been all for a guy like Burnett before the year started. But we've got a couple of young guys in the name of Gavin Floyd and John Danks that have made it totally unnecessary to have to trade for any pitcher.

Are the Cubs still the NLC favorites?
Cubs are still the favorites. Are the Brewers better? No question. But even if you make the assumption that Carl Winslow will make every start for them the rest of the way, you're talking 15 or 16 starts. So only in 15 or 16 games out of the 73 the Brewers have remaining will Uncle Phil have a chance to make an impact. Now if they're able to upgrade their bullpen, something I think they will do, then things might change. But I expect the Cubs to make a move as well. The Cards aren't even worth mentioning. They've played out of their minds to this point. I don't see it lasting no matter who they're able to add.

Konerko BAD - Fire GOOD
Dumb question. The recent explosions by Thome and Swisher prove that you don't give up on proven vets after a bad month or even two. As soon as PK is ready to go, throw him right back out there.

I'd rather have Uribe up in this spot than Brian. Please prove me wrong.

Hoping for a rainout tonight...
Should we hope for a rainout every time we face a premier pitcher? I think not.

Official 2008-2009 NFL Thread
Damn, even Mike waited 1-3 years before flip-flopping. Favre couldn't even make it four months.

When he's gettin' it over, Floyd's curve rivals any other pitcher's best pitch in all of baseball. Just nasty.

Vazquez's Problem
I'm startin' to get a lilttle scared. We're not winning jack without Javy performing up to expectations. Hopefully it's just a bad month.
