  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 12:06 AM) The Bulls almost won 3 games against the Heat with Keith Bogans as the SG 2 years ago. I think Jimmy scoring 12-14 points a game is fine. They don't need him to score 15+ a game. That'd be nice, but any kind of efficient offensive contribution from the 2 spot is good enough for me at this point. This is what I'm talkin' about. You sound just like a 90's Knicks, Pacers or Jazz fan would had the internet been then what it is today. "Well, we only lost by an average of 5.2 ppg. We're not that far off." Stop. That's just not good enough. If you want to chop down the second greatest player of all-time, you must get creative.
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:58 PM) It would be the exact same crap. You'd still see the Heat pack the paint and laugh while the Bulls' brick jumpers. The Bulls would also be using a 6'3" SG instead of a 6'7"-ish one. The only reason the result might improve at all is getting Boozer's ass off the floor, but then again the backup bigs would be terrible. The Bulls had nobody that could put the ball on the floor and dish like Ellis can in '11 (other than Rose). That and no Boozer would give you a much better shot. Look, there's no '06 Kobe Bryant out there. There's no perfect fit. This organization needs to stop being so f***ing lame and do something, even if it's questionable. Thibs is all that? Let me see it. If he's the next George Karl (lots of regular season wins and nothing else), then get him outta here.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:40 PM) Replace Boozer with Ellis (and assume Ellis is healthy) and you're looking at a second round exit if Rose and/or Noah are hurt. So in reality, it doesn't matter. Noah/Taj/Deng/Ellis/Rose with Butler/Dunleavy as the 6th and 7th menn. That's some serious length and athleticism. I'll roll with that against the Heat. I don't care. The Bulls had their chance in '11 and got rolled. I don't want to go with that crap again.
  4. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:37 PM) He's very far from perfect. He's a below average shooter with poor shooting efficiency and uses a very high number of possessions. Oh, and he's a bad defender. Basically his only plus skill is getting to the rim, which he can't do while Rose has the ball. He just can't take his usual 18-20 shots with Rose here, it would end poorly. Disagree. And if thibs is as good as Bulls fans say he is (there's more to being a good coach then beating up on awful eastern conference teams), he should be able to do something with Ellis. Because Jimmy Butler as a full-time 2 guard is a losing proposition.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:33 PM) Ellis is a mediocre defender at best. If Monta can go back to being 07-08 Monta, when he had a .580 TS%, I'd gladly trade anyone besides Butler, Rose, and Noah for him. Even then, he's not an ideal fit. Unless Thibs can get Ellis to stop chucking and do nothing but drive, I don't see how this makes the Bulls any better, regardless of how good of a deal we get in the trade. Cool. So let's go into next season praying that Rose, Deng, Noah and Boozer are all healthy come playoff time (lol@that ever happening) and lose to Miami again. I'm shocked the Bulls were even looking at Ellis.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:27 PM) What is your point? Sox are 17 below .500. I contend that mainly because of pitching and some good (on paper) everyday hitters/fielders, this team should be around .500. 17 below prior to the all-star break is much much different from that. The point is when you're 17 games below .500 you pretty much suck. There's no riddles or anything that need to be decoded here. This is a bad baseball team and organization overall. 1 playoff appearance in 8 years at a time when making the playoffs is easier than it's ever been? Pathetic.
  7. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:23 PM) Nate seriously was better last year. Don't let Monta's high usage rate fool you, Robinson's PER was a point higher, his TS% was like 5 points higher and he had more points and assists per 40 than Monta did. Now you can say that Nate usually isn't that good, but a $10 million a year player shouldn't be remotely comparable to a veteran minimum guy. Ellis sucked last year. But stop it. The Bucks were never a good fit for him. And he's clearly better than Nate. Ellis shot 36.1% on nearly 5 attempts per game his last full year at GS. If he could do that, combined with his ability to put the ball on the floor/create and his defensive ball-hawking (he's usually in the top 10 in steals), he'd be much more impactful than Nate. Problem is that Rose is not a true PG and ball-dominant as f***. Could he adjust his game? I doubt it.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:03 PM) I like him because he gives the Bulls something they don't really have. Plus, unlike other Bulls fans, I don't give a s*** if Uncle Jerry has to pay some luxury tax. You have a team thats close...pay the f***ing tax and do whatever you can to get the roster better. I'm sick of falling just short. We have a star, lets do whatever we can to continously make the team better. I'd love to see what Jerry Buss (RIP) or Cuban would have been able to do the past two years (knowing they'd have been open to spending money for a championship). Jerry is only spending if it is a total no brainer (vs. just makes them somewhat better). If it makes you better, do the deal...case closed. If it fails, as long as you aren't completely stupid in the money you give out, you can always sell and get other assets, etc. No argument here. The Bulls' front office is lamer than the pathetic Lone Ranger movie.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22877...uit-Falls-Short WTF - The Bulls were the frontrunners from Monta? Get the f*** back on the phone GAR/PAX. Figure out a way...pay the f***ing tax. Monte is an excellent fit for this squad (assuming he can play within the offense and Thibs can teach him some defense). He should really allow the Bulls offense to spread out and I'd anticipate he'd get a lot of open jumpers with Rose. He could also get some minutes at the back up point and gives the Bulls two solid ball handlers. Wonder who the Bulls were trying to trade? I assume Hinrich would have been involved. I like Ellis. But he'd have to really change his game to fit in with a team like the Bulls. He'd be ideal on a team like Denver or, of course, GS.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) This team is awful, but the question is "why is it awful?" You can argue that, on paper, it is a team that should be sniffing .500. s***ty talent relative to the rest of the AL? If they were in the east? Jesus. Sniffing .500? If that's their ceiling then this season was over before it started.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 10:37 PM) Well, it's time to apologize to Rios. Six hits in a 9-inning game? Ties AL record? Sets all kind of marks tonight. Holy s***, what a game for Rios. I apologize to him for ripping him a lot again this season. Well, it should be much easier to trade him anywhere now. Seriously. A game like that shows scouts he could be valuable IMO. To get six hits in a game and explode like that has to make contending teams take notice that Rios might win you a lot of games down the stretch if he's focused like that. Tonight proved several things. 1.) Rios is an enigma with a lot of talent and 2.) Viciedo may be one of those guys who needs to be pushed (benched when he f***s up) to bring out his ability. Two homers?? Where'd that come from? And 3.) The Sox are capable of playing much better than they have this season from hell. Not really. Tonight doesn't prove a thing. Even the worst teams will have 5-10 games out of 162 in which they look awesome. This team is awful and I look forward to seeing what Hahn does with our veteran assets and what guys like Phegley and Beckham do for the rest of the year.
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) I just don't see us or get the point of us trading Rios. Did elrockin hack into your account?
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 11:04 PM) Would anybody lose any sleep if Robin was fired after this debacle? I certainly would not give a s*** if he got canned. He's wealthy. He'd be fine. You ask the same dumb questions after every loss.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 03:08 PM) How the hell did Baltimore lose 2 of 3 to the anemic White Sox? The guy threw what, 90 pitches today to beat this pathetic team? Um, maybe because even bad teams don't go 0-162?
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 04:39 PM) Obviously. That's the thing. I don't think they would trade him no matter what. I think they're going to ride or die with the Rose/Noah/Deng/Boozer core, which is so sad.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 04:27 PM) The problem is Josh Smith is an idiot who won't play to his strengths, regardless of what his team needs. I think he'd flourish under the right coaching (not that Detroit has that).
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) Josh Smith is all sorts of bad IMO. It's a good thing the Rockets didn't get him. Now let's flip Gibson for Asik. Smith is spectacular when he plays to his strengths (he must realize he's not a perimeter shooter). And unless you're going to flip Noah, Asik makes zero sense.
  18. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) Which Detroit probably should have done given their NBDL caliber backcourt. If nothing else, sign an actual wing that can shoot a little. Maybe they shop Monroe now? Because yeah. I don't see how you can play all three of them together. And no Quinarvy, there's no way we can get him.
  19. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 02:35 PM) And they're still going to blow because none of them can hit a jumper and their PG is Brandon Knight. They're unbalanced (I'm just seeing now that Calderon signed with the Mavs). But this is the east. 1:Miami 2:Chicago/Indiana or Indiana/Chicago 3: Knicks 4: Nets and just crap after that. Teams will be tanking left and right for the upcoming 2014 class.
  20. Josh Smith to the Pistons. 4/56. The Pistons now have the most athletic front-court in basketball (and that's not even including the freak of nature that is Tony Mitchell).
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 10:40 PM) Millsap to Atlanta 2/19M Finally get to see Derrick Favors explode now. I see prime AK47 across the board numbers for him next year.
  22. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 08:48 PM) SportsCenter SportsCenter ‏@SportsCenter 4m UPDATE: A source has told ESPN that Dwight Howard has "changed his mind." Howard has told Lakers he's now 50-50. What a f***ing joke of a human being. lol. That's got to be a fake twitter.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 06:17 PM) Broussard tweeted that Houston is trying to work out sign and trade for josh smith with omer and Lin. What a day for Houston if it goes through. Though may bring out worst of josh smith jumpers. Yeah, it looks pretty inevitable. Asik wants no part of being a back-up again - or so I've heard. Dwight/Smith would be disgusting defensively. They still might need another shooter to replace Lin.
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 05:25 PM) The Lakers knew what they were getting into when they made that trade. They deserve what happened, Dwight was pretty loud about not wanting to be a Laker. I know that. You know that. But Laker fans are pretty f***ing spoiled and they can't fathom not getting their way. They're still pissed about the Chris Paul debacle. Now this? lol.
