  1. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) is it just me or in this pic does it look like pods has lipstick on....maybe oprah gave him a fantasy makeover It's not you. Pods looks like a f** in that pic.
  2. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:28 PM) 1st of all, was Tayshuan Prince voted as a starter? 2nd, this is just dumb. 4 Pistons. Please. These guys are thugs. They aren't that good. The only one who deserves it is Billups. No, Prince was not voted as a starter. If he was, I would quit the NBA forever. And the Pistons are hardly thugs. You must be thinking the Bad Boys of the late 80's and early 90's.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) Getting swept in the 1st round>>>>>>>>>>>>getting the last lotto pick Well, that depends on who's coming out that year. lol. I sure as hell would've liked to have gotten the first pick in 03.
  4. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) He was the worst three hitter in baseball. Cleveland's 8-9 hitters out produced him. You cannot just say no carl everett = no championship... because we would of course had some one replacing him putting up similar numbers... and trust me it wouldn't have been that hard to find. Sure he was ''clutch'' but did he ever get a hit without someone on base... would have been nice considering you come up with no one on the majority of the time. Who would've been replacing Everett? Joe Borchard?
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) I really am at the point where losing doesnt bother me all that much.... I dont think we will make the playoffs if we do only be the 8th spot and against Detroit it will be a sweep...... As long as Chandler keeps up his pace and maybe Deng shows a little something something ill be happy. :banghead I'm not with that train of thinking. I think making the playoffs is still very important to the growth and development of this team. Sure, will get swept by the Pistons. But the only way to learn how to win in the playoffs is to first be in the playoffs.
  6. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Notice that 3 of those 10 were dealth this off-season. I hope he's not starting to get too obsessed with winning now and starting to deal real talent that develops. Yes, 3 of them were dealt. But what did we get back in return? A guy, who when healthy, is a sure bet to belt 40+ hr's and knock in over 100 runs. We got another guy who's a supremely talented, innings eater who would basically be at worst the 3rd starter for over half the teams in baseball, yet he's our 5th starter. I've always said, unless you have a no doubt about it like guy, somebody like a Mark Prior, A-rod or Felix Hernandez, all prospects are fair game as long as you're getting back PROVEN major league talent.
  7. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Don't feel sorry for Paul. He and Felton will make the All-Star team many times in their future, as good as Paul has been, its tough to argue putting him over Nash or Parker who have equal numbers and are on better teams. Nice to see Rasheed get chosen for his efforts and sacrifices, but I think either he or Rip shouldn't have been named. True. Unless you're having a flat out freakish/monster like season, such as Michael in 85, Shaq in 93 or Duncan in 98, a first year player is not likely to make it.
  8. QUOTE(MarkBuehrle_TheAce @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) all you guys do is f***ing rip on me. knock it off, fighting on a f***ing message bored is retarded. that said, i have no problem with anderson, its just that owens fits the mold that ozzie seems to like, fast, and more fast. i think he has a solid chance at the starting job, but if we go with anderson, i have no problem I wasn't rippin on you. Just don't pay attention to those who are.
  9. Good god are the Mavs hot right now. Up 26 after 3 quarters against the Heat.
  10. I expect a loss tonight. Especially since we played last night and they didn't. I'd love to be proven wrong.
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) The Sonics actually have been playing well and are at or over .500. I would have liked to seen Paul in the big game though as well. I would've removed Parker for him since they're both PG's. Parker is having an outstanding year. It's been him, not Duncan, who's really led them this year. Last I checked he was leading the league in points in the paint and shooting a mindboggling 55% from the field. That's unheard of from a pg. I think Paul should've made it. But not at Parker's expense.
  12. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) as of now, i would have to give osu a marked edge for many of the reasons you've mentioned. to add to that, over the course of the past few seasons illinois has not played particularly well at the schott. we know what happened last year and two years ago illinois needed a osu to miss a late shot to win a game against an osu team that was not very talented. frankly, though, i have to hope osu falls in love with the 3 as they do sometimes. if there is any area where i have a lot of confidence in illinois it is in their perimeter defense. that's what they are going to have to hang their hat on if they are going to have a chance sunday. I actually have a lot more confidence going into the game at OSU after the pathetic Penn State loss. I really think the team is gonna come out super fired up, more so than if they had beaten Penn State.
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 07:34 PM) I'm glad Jordon voiced his opinion and said what many here have said since Kobe's game. You just don't score 81 without a complete lack of determination from the other team. I've seen the Kobe game since the initial night, and honestly believe if Toronto played legitimate defense he wouldn't have elipsed mid 60's. Which is still a hell of a feat in it's own right. Even if Kobe had to shot freethrows every possession and obtain 80 points that way, if you have any pride, you don't associate yourself as the team which allowed this to happen without a fight. I've seen the game since that night as well. And lmao@those who claimed the Raptors were doubling and tripling Kobe. The Raps offered no resistance whatsoever. They rarely doubled, let alone tripled, trapped, rotated or got physical at all. Kobe had atleast 6 unconsted layups or dunks. He rarely had a hand in his face whenever he shot from the perimiter. The Raptors bigs would simply throw their arms up in the air like idiots whenever Kobe drove to the basket. It was basically a clinic on not how to play defense. They're defintely not the second worst defensive team in the league by accident.
  14. QUOTE(OldSox2 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) On the negative side we got Ritchie, Everett twice, and Thome/vazquez and gobs of payroll. You mentioned Fogg, but he wasn't the best pitcher we gave up in that deal. On the positive side we have Freddy. Ritchie was garbage. Everybody knows that. Everett was a central figure on a World Series championship team. Thome and Vazquez have more than proven themselves over the years.
  15. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) michigan super flat since harris went down. Yup. Courtney Sims kept them in the game after that. But losing Harris was too much. He was on fire at the time, too.
  16. OSU up 65-64 with 12 minutes to go. They're 14/20 from 3. They better not shoot like that against us this weekend.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) 3 PT Shootout if anyone is interested.. Ray Allen Raja Bell Chauncey Billups Dirk Nowitzki Quentin Richardson Jason Terry Dirk is gonna struggle IMO Gotta go with "He's got game" for this one.
  18. I really wanted Chris Paul to make it. But I can't really argue with the West reserves.
  19. Eastern Conference reserves: Rip Hamilton Chauncey Billups Ben Wallace Rasheed Wallace Chris Bosh Vince Carter Paul Pierce. Snubs: Gilbert Arenas Michael Redd Western Conference reserves: Ray Allen Tony Parker Dirk Nowitzki Elton Brand Paul Gasol Kevin Garnett Shawn Marion Snubs: Carmelo Anthony Chris Paul Wow, 3 guys averaging over 25 ppg didn't make the all-star team. Rip over Arenas and Redd? Is Rasheed Wallace really all-star caliber? The only guy I really dispute making it in the West is Gasol. He's a good player. But Carmelo is having a fine year.
  20. QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) I watched parts of all four Series wins on DVD this past weekend. As I watched Jenks blow the save in game 2 and have a shaky outing in game 3, I started to think that in order for him to be a truly dominating closer (which I know he can be), he needs to develope a change up. Because his fastball is unhittable as a high strike, it seemed that the Astros were starting to lay off of the pitch by the third game. It got me thinking that a great change when mixed with the curve and the high heat would put him in Rivera and Gagne territory. I'm curious to know what you guys think. I just want to see him throw his sick curveball more often. He would go away from it at times last year.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Make that 10 of 11 now. They're on f***in fire. Reminds me of old school NBA Jam.
  22. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) Yeah I think Kobe in his prime could drop 20 on Jordan in his prime. 30 would be very iffy and I would doubt 40. It's impossible to gauge how much somebody would score against an individual player. Let's just say that a prime Michael Jordan would kick Kobe's booty.
  23. MU up 3 on OSU with just over 7 minutes left in the first half. Really good game so far.
  24. I wanna be an admin. Just kidding. Congrats, Greasy.
