  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) Im just enjoying the ride. Nobody.....I MEAN NOBODY thought they'd be 7-3. 2005 has been simply amazing. The Illini run to the title game. The Bulls making the playoffs for the first time since 98. THE WHITE SOX! Now the Bears look like they have atleast a shot at doing something special. What more could any Chicagoan ask for?
  2. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) If the Bears get a parade, it sure will steal the Sox thunder. Are you really suggesting that Bears fans who are Sox fans should root against the Bears so the Sox can stay the #1 team in the city?
  3. I'm not gonna be too critical of Orton today. I think he played a fine game overall. His numbers would've been a lot better if not for 5 or 6 dropped passes, including a sure second td to Muhammad in the first quarter. Like many have said, if Grossman comes back and shows little or no effects of missing almost two years, start him, if not, stick with Orton.
  4. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) Take nothing away from the Bears. They played a hell of a game. Everybody should be proud. Is this one of the top tem teams in the league. Maybe. Probably the best defense. Is this an elite team or spuerbowl contender, probably not. It is the sobering truth. Besides, Why would we want the Bears winning a superbowl and stealing the White Sox thunder? I don't see or hear anybody screaming Super Bowl. And the Bears winning wouldn't take a thing away from what the Sox accomplished. Not to true Sox fans anyway.
  5. You don't have to be a Bears fan to apperciate a performance on defense like that. It's a shame anybody is trying to hate right now.
  6. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) I suspect that the Bears may not even be a .500 team if they played in the AFC. The sad part is that they could actually be the NFC's sacrificial lamb to the AFC in the Superbowl. Kinda like the NFC pissed on the AFC for like 13 straight years before they finally won a sb?
  7. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) This only proves how weak the NFC is. No, it proved how good the Bears d is.
  8. I nutted atleast 17 times this game. I f***in love defense like that. That's the best performance I've seen from any defense in atleast 5 years. A win against the Steelers, and I think it's time to say this team's for real.
  9. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) The lesson is simple. You don't play both sides of the floor, you don't play at all, and Gordon is absolutely etrocious defensively. Supposedly, he worked on his D during the offseason. Yet to see a difference. Half the players in the league don't play a lick of defense. I think Skiles is just a stubborn mofo.
  10. Big props to Ozzie on an amazing job this season. I've happily eaten a ton of crow the last 6 weeks or so. I'll never, ever doubt Ozzie again.
  11. First Owens, now this. My fantasy teams are going up in smoke.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 04:16 AM) I always thought he had a lot of talent too YAS, (and I remember this time last year we'd have these discussions that we needed to keep him, otherwise he would reach his potential somewhere else) but I don't know if he can continue to be an 18 game winner with a K/BB ratio of 115/47, although if the Sox keep their infield defense the way it is, he's certainly got a good chance to keep those numbers. I suppose I'm just a little leery with the way he finished off the season, and the way Houston got to him in game 3. He just needs to improve against lefties (.267, 19 of 26 HR's). If he can do that, he'll be on the Southside for a long, long time. Plus there's not much b/w his home and away splits, which is also an excellent sign. He only gave up two earned runs in 7 innings against Houston. And don't forget the gem he threw against the Angels in game 3.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) I'll step up to the plate on that one. I believe, barring injury, Garland's value will just continue to climb for a couple of years. He's always had the talent, and this year, he finally learned how to pitch. He's just coming into his own as a big time pitcher. I couldn't agree more. Garland is 27 and just entering his prime. I expect him to be possibly better in year's to come.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 03:03 AM) Kenny's got the guns though. KW had some ripped ass arms back in the day.
  15. Not that I have that much faith in Orton, but you've got to stick with him at this point. Unless Rex just totally dominates in practice or something like that, Orton is the guy.
  16. Tough, tough loss. But, as somebody mentioned, we started 0-9 last year. I think will be fine.
  17. I can't see any team, especially in this era, going undefeated. I do, however, think they're the favorites to win it all.
  18. Absolute garbage! But I'm sure Kenny could care less. He's got the trophy.
  19. Cubs fans can lick the crack of my buttocks. We've got the trophy. They don't. End of story.
  20. This really hurts a couple of my fantasy teams.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) A course I still want them to win a WS. And if they do a course ill celebrate and go to the parade and everything. But unlike this season where I would of been absolutely crushed if they lost in the WS. Id still be very sad/mad but Id be able to deal with it. A course thats unless its a WS vs the Cubs Against them we have to win to defend our honor lol. Oh, no doubt. A loss to those clowns in the Series would devestate me.
  22. I can't say I would want the next one more than the one we just had. But I think I want it just as bad. I'm a greedy mofo. I don't want the Sox to be one of those team's that wins it and you never hear from them again. I want us to be in position to contend every year. With that said, it won't hurt nearly as much if we didn't win it next year, the year after that or the year after that.
  23. I really thought we would lose today. This was definitely one of those "trap" games. And we almost blew it. We better handle the Niners.
  24. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Critic mentioned this yesterday, so I grabbed a copy of the Sun-Times this morning. If you haven't picked it up yet, do so. Nice overview of the post season, and a nice win/loss run down on the year, and decent paper stock. Thanks, KG. I just went and picked up two of them. Very, very nice.
  25. QUOTE(rangercal @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) Without going 0-9 last year they would have had a great shot. so... I think they have a shot. I see it Pacers, Bulls, Pistons Bulls over Pistons? Anything outside of key injuries, the Bulls don't finish any better than 3rd. I would love to be wrong, though.
