So what do they plan on doing with Borchard? The guys is obviously not gonna make it. Could we get anything of just decent worth for him?
  2. Thanks, Qwerty. That supports my opinion. Hinrich got SCREWED!
  3. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=20782 Check out what one retard had to say. Nobody said the Cardinals hitting was going to fall back to earth, just their pitching. Look at the stats, look at how terrible the White Sox offense has been. They don't have a single hitter struggling that has enough of a consistent track record to count on to bounce back. Dye has been this terrible in the past. So has Konerko. Rowand's had one year. On the other hand you have guys like Podsednik and Joe Crede playing way better than they have any right to. And that's not even getting into their pitching staff. They aren't that good, and they certainly aren't better than us.
  4. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 12, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Arenas' game-winner is still fresh on my mind... I just wouldn't call him better than Wade. He's great within the team defense. I don't know, I guess everyone is going to have their opinion. Fair enough. I think it won't be long before Hinrich starts making those teams annually.
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) The first-team was about what I had in mind, and Hughes doesn't gamble as much as some people want to say... Hinrich isn't an elite defender, plain and simple. I'm a Hinrich fan, and he's a good team defender, but just about any top-tier guard can take him one-on-one. Wade's quickness and strength make him a good defender, contrary to this board's opinions, but I also was not expecting to see him make it. Kidd was injured. That didn't make sense... Hinrich is an elite defender among pg's. And he played better defense this year than Kidd, and is a much better defender than Dwane Wade.
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Every time I see Konerko batting he always lays off the pitches thrown right over the plate then goes golfing at a pitch in the dirt or away and strikes out or pops up. This is just maddening to me. I agree. He's not seeing the ball right or something. I thought last Saturday's game would spark a prolonged hot streak. We just have to be patient, I guess.
  7. It's amazing in itself that our 4/5 hitters are hitting .197 and .195. Those two have got to get going, and SOON.
  8. I don't even want to think about watching a Sox game without Hawk. It won't be the same whenever his time is up.
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) BTW -- 29 and change for tonight's game, on not the greatest of nights. Nice job, Sox fans. You guys/we were into every pitch, I probably had a better time tonight than at Opening Day. Great to see people coming out. Me and my boy are going to Sunday's game.
  10. First team=Duncan, Kg, Wallace, Bowen, Hughes....I have no problem with the first team. Second team=Camby, Billups, Prince, Kirelinko, Kidd, Wade...I have no problem with this list except for Kidd and Wade. I don't think Kidd's defense was worthy of being on the 2nd team. His d slipped this year due to advancing age and injury. Wade? I mean c'mon, the guy is an awesome player. But all defensive 2nd team? I feel Hinrich was robbed. He's more worthy of 2nd team defense than Kidd or Wade.
  11. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 12, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) and dye? 6, it is nice having three guys at the top who have lots of speed on the base paths, and this allows us for more power towards the bottom of the order, if everett and konerko and others are shifted down some spots i knew we would win this game, dont take the orioles too lightly, when they are hitting they are tough, and they havent even thrown bedard or cabrera at us Well, we lead the league in pitching for a reason. Nobody is taking them lightly. And they still have yet to see Buerhle or Garcia.
  12. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 12, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) LOL Garland/Dontrell 14-0 this season............... Flubbs........SUCK!!!!! But they've still got Carrie Wood.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ May 12, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) Even though Garland has two complete game shut-outs this season, tonight was the best game he pitched. Against some very good hitters, he made great pitches. Ironic that the most trouble he had was against an A ball player. I agree. That strikeout on Tejada in the 8th was CLUTCH. Jon has FINALLY arrived. I'm still dissapointed with the offense. We have to give our pitchers a little more margin for error than what we have been. I have no idea how we're winning these games with our 4-6 hitters hitting .240, .197, and .195.
  14. Very nice job, Dan.
  15. QUOTE(T R U @ May 11, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) Its gonna be a good match up between Miami and Detroit.. I think Miami will win it, but it should be a good one... that of course is IF its that match up Shaq will have to average more than 18 ppg and 8 rpg for the Heat to beat the Pistons.
  16. O's win! Lead over the Twins back at 4.5
  17. When you can't sleep at night after a tough loss? When you plan your entire day around the Sox game? When you blow off friends to post at Soxtalk? lol
  18. QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) we never beat s***ty teams.. this might the the start of a new era sheez... I got ya.
  19. QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) are the sox awesome or what? beating a last place team Why the sarcasm?
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 11, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) great job by Hermy and Duque, and some good defense, way to play boys, lets keep it up and kill the birds!!!! Don't forget Cliff, he's been outstanding all year.
  21. I think I may have underestimated the Spurs a little. I expected them to win the series. but these first two games have been flat out domination. No surprise at the Pizzards falling behind 0-2 to the Heat.
  22. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) I agree. They're great to watch. How many offenses have looked this good recenty? I have to go back to the early 90's to find one. Some say that defense is too good now a days to score that many points. The Suns have more than proven that's simply a myth.
  23. I'm more than satisfied with getting a bonafide #2 starter in Garcia. Losing Olivo hurt at first, but now we've got an all-star at catcher.
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Latroy's head is all messed up. It's amazing cause 2 years ago that guy was absolutely lights out, he was unhittable. I'd still take the guy in a heartbeat, he's the kind of guy that needs a role to be successful. I totally agree. Hawkins can't possibly be this bad. Dusty and the Flubs have f***ed him up for life. He was aquired to be the set-up guy, not the closer. He's blown so many games as a closer, he doesn't even have the confidence to go out there in the eighth.
  25. The Suns are so fun to watch. They push the ball on every possession. If you don't get back on them, they'll absolutely destroy you. Everybody keeps talking about how their style of play doesn't work in the playoffs. They averaged about 113 ppg against a good defensive minded Grizzlies team in a clean sweep. Then they throw 127 on a much improved Mavs defense.
