OMG
Willamson must be pretty messed up for the Cubs to get him so cheap. I doubt he has any real impact for them, this year atleast.

Clemens asks for $22M
The Astros are so screwed. They've lost Beltran, Kent, Miller and will be without Berkman for a while. Now this outrageous demand from Clemens? I'd tell Roger to go f*** himself. The Stros aren't winning s*** anyway.

Bulls and Celtics
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) I'll be the first to say this but we didn't play all that great against NY but who am i to complain, the bulls sport a seven game winning streak, and are recently one of the hottest teams in the league, not only does beating the celts help them gain games in the playoff seeds on them but it also gets us to a five hundred record. This one will be tough, Keys to the game: 1. Stop pierce, make sure he doesn't get the ball 2. Don't give their frontcourt room to shoot because walter mccarty and raef lafrentz can shoot long distances 3. get the ball down low because we can beat them down low Now all we can do is hope the pacers keep losing so we get seventh seed celtics I like your enthusiasm, but the game is not until tomorrow night, little early for a game thread.

Chris DeLuca still has Twins as team to beat:
In the word's of Pedro, the Twins are our "daddy" until proven otherwise.

Da Bulls!!
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) in my opinion their is still a handful of teams that would handle us in the playoffs and they are Heat, Pistons, Cleveland, Pacers. Other than those 4 we have a chance... magic arent really 2 good.. we have beaten new york, boston, and 76ers. Washington prob better than us right now but id think we have a chance against them. I definitely agree that we couldn't run with the Heat or Pistons. You're probably right about the Pacers as well, although they're not gonna do much without Artest. I disagree about the Cavs. I think we could beat them in a series if we played them. They're young and inexperienced just like we are. We don't have a Lebron, but I think we have more talent and depth overall.

Da Bulls!!
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) Excellent analysis. In fact, I would add this for consideration: It would be better this year for a lottery pick, than a first round exit. Next year they need the experience, but this year, another high pick would be nice. 6 straight years of lottery picks isn't enough for you? It would be a wonderful step in the right direction if this team were to make the playoffs.

Da Bulls!!
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 07:22 AM) Guys, the Bulls are going to stumble. They're too young not to do so. You are going to have guys hitting the rookie wall soon, and the schedule is going to get much tougher. If they do make the playoffs, I wouldn't expect much from them. There is a similarity between the NBA and NHL when it comes to the difference between regular season and playoff games. They take it to another level. None of the main cogs of the Bulls has any playoff experience whatsoever. If they win a playoff series, consider it a MAJOR accomplishment and sign of good things to come. If they don't, which is more likely to happen, consider it a learning experience. Even MJ had learn how to win in the playoffs. However, the resurgence of the Bulls is great to see. They are heading in the right direction. But if "the sky is the limit" is referring to this year's team, I think you are going to be disappointed. I couldn't agree with you more. I hope you didn't take my "sky is the limit" comment as me saying that had a chance to do any real damage this year. This team is a LONG ways away from serious title contention. What I really meant was that if they're able to keep this core group of guys together that they would have a chance to do some special things down the road.

Da Bulls!!
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) Winners of 7 in a row and only 1 game under 500?! Could it be that we have a real basketball team in this town for the 1st time in over 6 years?!?! I am most impressed! They might be the deepest team in the league, or atleast the eastern conference. I think the sky is the limit for these guys. As long as they continue to play defense and play hard every single night.

Bulls Vs. Knicks Part II
QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) this game was awesome. WHen sweetney was fouled i thought the game might be over... but whats amazing is that rookies are supposed to lose games, not win them, and it was the rookies we turned to to get us out of that hole and they delivered. Noc and Gordon were so amazing that last 1:30...absolutely incredible. Gordon is not your typical nba rookie. He spent 3 years at a top flight basketball program in Uconn. He's been in a lot of pressure situations before. The guy is fearless!!

Bulls Vs. Knicks Part II
Another thing worth mentioning is the Bulls had FOUR players with double digit rebounds today. Deng, Chandler, Hinrich, and Nocioni all had atleast 10 boards. I know, it's shocking that Eddy wasn't able to do the same.

Bulls Vs. Knicks Part II
QUOTE(Yoda @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Oh, we can't forget Andres Nociono. His three-pointer is what tied the ball game up. He had such a great day on the court. I just hope he can continue to do the same for the rest of the season. I agree, Nocioni drives me crazy with some of the wacko s*** he does out there. But you can't question his effort and hustle.

Bulls Vs. Knicks Part II
I'm so glad Pax traded Crawford. He has no impact on a game unless he's hitting the 3, which he didn't do today. Add to that, Gordon wouldn't be getting the chance he's getting had we kept Jabrick.

Bulls Vs. Knicks Part II
They never gave up. Even when it looked really bleek. I'm startin to become a believer in this team. We've got some very winnable games comin up to finish the month. We've got to take care of business, because February is gonna be TOUGH.

Bulls Vs. Knicks Part II
UNBELIEVABLE finish! Gordom reminded me of somebody today. What's his name? I just can't put my finger on it.

Come up with a Sox Trade
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) More than a slow power hitter who's contract is up at the end of the season, an avg. pitcher, a CF who's had one good year, and a minor leaguer who has proven absolutely nothing. You pretty much summed that up.

Come up with a Sox Trade
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Take a look at those two salaries. Nasty. A move like that would bury the Sox. Why you guys quotin me? Cubs suck23 was the one that proposed the trade.lol

Come up with a Sox Trade
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Damaso Marte and Willie Harris for Luis Castillo The only reason Willie is including in this trade is that he can't play SS or 3B so he's worthless to us on the bench... I like Castillo. But Marte is just too valuable. We would be filling one hole while creating another. Unless Neal Cotts or Munoz step up and prove they can consistently get the job done I consider Marte untouchable.

Come up with a Sox Trade
QUOTE(Molto @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) problem is, they aren't all-stars. Vidro is a good player and one of the better guys at his position, while Livan Hernandez is just a pretty good pitcher. that trade would be really really bad, and I'm usually one to see the point in every trade, even bad ones. I agree, I would want no part of this trade.

Come up with a Sox Trade
QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) How do you see that Garland is a better pitcher than Livan..If Hernandez was on any other team last year besides Montreal he would have been about an 17-18 game winner... I don't think Garland is better than Hernandez. I said that Garland is one of the better fifth starters in all of baseball. In my opinion, Hernandez wouldn't upgrade our staff by that much. By the way, how much money does Hernandez make?

Come up with a Sox Trade
QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) Livan Hernandez 11-15 3.60 186K's Vidro 294Avg 14Hr's 60rbi's 367obp Garland is an avg pitcher with an era in the high 4's. Konerko free agent after the season and Sweeney you dont want you are going to get with a prospect.. I would love to have 2 all stars for these guys.. Garland is one of the better 5's in the league. Some Sox fans aren't getting that. If Garland was our 3, which he's been in the past, I would be scared s***less. Is Buehrle, Garcia, Hernandez, El duque, and Contreras that much better than what we have now? As for Vidro, I would love to have him. But not at the expense of Konerko and one of our top 3 prospects. I realize the theme of this off-season has been pitching, defense, speed. But you still have to have some pop. No way in hell we can lose Maggs, Lee, Valentin, AND Konerko in one off-season.

Come up with a Sox Trade
QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) How do you know that Sweeney is going to be any good... I heard many Wsox high prospects that were going to have a great career like Borchard,Ruffcorn,Caruso to name a few I don't know that Sweeney is gonna be good. But unless a deal comes along that blows us away, i'd like to find out.

Please god tell me you're kidding? So who would play first base? Gload? :puke And you want to give them Sweeney too?

***Pistons vs. Bulls 1/3/05***
QUOTE(quade36 @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) I just got back from the game, why didn't Curry play today? He wasn't even dressed on the bench. He was out with the flu.
