QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 12:14 PM) It's still the first time in HISTORY. I guess there weren't injury problems to big men in previous years. I don't know how Dwight Howard being disinterested is a valid excuse, btw. Also, show me when Andrew Bynum has been healthy for a full season (so he shouldn't even be listed here like the injury is rare) and has averaged 20-10. Please and thank you. Dwight has been 20/10 every year save one the last 5 coming into this year. Even if you dismiss the fact that he doesn't really want to be a Laker, the guy is not even a year removed from major back surgery. Yes, Bynum is always hurt. True. And that's the only thing that's held him back. He did nearly 19 and 11 last year with Kobe taking 25 shots a game. But stop frontin'. Your motive here is clear. "See, I told you guys everything was better in the 90's."

QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 07:59 AM) For the first time in NBA history the league will have zero 20 point 10 rebound players. Tim Duncan is the only player averaging 20 and 10 per 36 apparently (and he's 36). Kind of crazy. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 11:58 AM) Obviously this is a category that quality big men own. For those who believe that humans have evolved over the last 30 years and endlessly spout off the mantra "bigger, stronger, faster!", I ask...where are the 7"0 freaks of nature??? Shouldn't we be having more of those than less? No one has come up with an answer. The last player who fits that description was drafted in '92. LBJ and KD, who aren't big men but rather big for their positions, are outliers. Kevin Love -injured Dwight Howard - injured/disinterested Andrew Bynum - bigger vagina than Rose That's three guys right there that would easily be 20-10 if healthy.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 06:27 PM) please let us know what is and is not proper pale hose talk material I'd be happy to. But it's not like you guys would listen to me anyway. This thread was dumb as f***. A guessing game on what this "special" announcement was going to be? But I digress. Baseball is here. And I'm f***ing happy.

I think Carmelo might score 60 tonight.

Oh my goodie, goodie gum drops! I was praying this was what the big announcement would be!!! #thereReallyIzAgod

Ooooooooopening Day!! KC at ChiSox, 3:10 PM CST
Jordan4life_2007 replied to Capn12's topic in 2013 Season in Review
Let this mark the end of dumbass, baseless, meaningless threads topics that have engulfed pht the last 4 months or so. There's real baseball to discuss now. If a thread so happens to pop up that fits said description, then by the power of greyskull, i shall put an irreversible curse on said perpetrators. -
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 05:41 PM) I was trying get at Derrick Rose could be further mentally scarred by knee injuries lol Good point. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a press conference tomorrow with him announcing his retirement.
-
Random drunk thought. Stephen Curry is a f***in' baller. When he gets hot, expect a minimum of 6-8 3's. *In before Booqua claims he's only good because of the rules and that John Starks (who lmao was an all-star one year) could dominate in today's game*

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 30, 2013 -> 03:48 PM) It was a totally fun game to watch but the last 3 minutes or so were just brutal, really frustrating to watch the bulls last couple of possessions. a legitimate go-to guy would've been nice to have today. Bulls used to have one. That was before his recent sex change.
-
Game was at least entertaining. Nate went nuts. I sometimes forget how utterly incredible and unique Dirk is. There's never been a 7 footer like him.
-
Wow, they were famous for like 5 days. There isn't one legitimate NBA prospect on that team. Win a game or two as a lower seed/underdog and you're suddenly god-like. That's college hoops, I guess. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
-
Welp, that sucked. Hope they (fgc) enjoyed their 15 minutes.
-
Yawn. I knew as soon as I tuned in to see what the FGCU hype was about that I would be reminded of why I had never heard of them in the first place. #unimpressed.

2013 Spring Training catch all thread

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 12:14 PM) Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien 1m Excited to have the one and only @TheBigHurt_35 back with Comcast SportsNet for 60 White Sox games this season! No doubt about it. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 05:21 PM) Why wouldn't it be? If you don't have any interest in the topic, don't post. Anyway, here's the tweet I saw... https://twitter.com/craigcalcaterra/status/...374280260276224 Then I would have to stop posting in PHT. This, forbes, emergency catchers, sox bets, etc. What is going on here? Other than the Hizzle thread, this is just awful.

Sweet Jesus Monday can't get here fast enough. How is this even a thread?

Unquestionably the Bulls best game since MJ

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 08:04 AM) You should watch hockey. The Hawks streak was way more impressive considering the situation they did it in. Um, what!? If I were a mod I would ban you for this horrible suggestion. I'd rather watch a porno with Greg Poppovich and greg775 as the main stars.

Great win for the Bulls. When they're inevitably tossed aside come April, they can look back and at least say they prevented history. Props to the Heat as well. I don't give a f*** what nobody says. These fools hadn't lost since SB Sunday before last night. One of the great team streaks I've ever seen in my lifetime.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) We got 'em right where we want 'em This has been the Heat's m.o. for, like the last 10 games. Start slow - finish really, really strong.
-
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 05:39 PM) Marco and Joakim out too. Wade back for the Heat too. Yeah, this could get pretty ugly tonight. Game 1 of the '11 ECFs seems like it was two decades ago.
-
Rose out tonight. And that's a 2013 season for him as far as I'm concerned.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 09:38 AM) http://24.media.tumblr.com/13e5e3e03e85b77...yuig7o1_400.gif Just a GIF file of Rose dominating in practice. I do think that even if Rose comes back this week or next week, he should be pretty close to ready in the playoffs, because one he's dominating in the practice, and two he's been doing drills and practicing for a while now. It shouldn't take him as long as other players to get back to game shape again. Also, I don't get all these nonsense that if Rose doesn't come back tonight or the next game, he shouldn't come back at all. We still got like 12-13 games left. Even if Rose comes back with 7 games left, he should be able to play 25 minutes by the time playoff comes. If we can play Rose those kind of minutes the first round, we should be able to hang with anyone in the first round. It also buys him some time to get into better shape for the latter part of playoffs. Holy s*** this post is awful. I thought Scott Merkin was the king of fluff.

Pretty interesting Tom Verducci article
Jordan4life_2007 replied to Tannerfan's topic in The Diamond Club
Damn. That was actually a pretty good piece. And he backs up the article with legitimate numbers. Yes, the game has indeed changed. And I love it.
