Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving
Does anyone know of any restaurants open on Thanksgiving in the SW Suburbs?

Is it time to tear down Wrigley?
I've only been to Wrigley 4 or 5 times, including for the Winter Classic. I can say, however, that the park is a dump. It has a ton of history, and the location is great, but I agree that a new modren park could be built there and it would be fine. I'm not a Cubs fan, so I'm not going to pretend to know how they would react. But imagine a ballpark like PNC Park on that site. A beautiful, fan-friendly park would win over most baseball fans. You'd still have the neighborhood and you'd have a nice ballpark in which to watch a game.

Phils Interested in TCQ?
FWIW, Bruce Levine is saying the Sox are not shopping Quentin. I don't know if that means anything. I would assume that Quentin would be on his way to another team if the right offer came along.

KW could change Sox direction
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 08:27 AM) There is about a zero chance of this actually happening. This is complete speculation by a writer, backed up by nothing in fact. Well, he didn't actually say anything would happen. What I took from the article was that it was nothing but speculation, and he offered up several different directions the Sox could go. It's like he was saying the Sox may make a few changes, make a lot of changes, or somewhere in between.

Sox on Olivo
I wonder if they are looking right now in case they don't re-sign AJ or because they've decided not to re-sign AJ?

SOXTALK NOV/DEC '10 LIST
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) http://vimeo.com/5760817 A song for Tex. I'm trying to add up the lists - it may take a few days before I start doing the list because I have a few projects on my plate right now. Let me know if you need any info on beers.

2010 Fall TV Thread
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 11:47 AM) Yeah Hell Kitchen cast has been weak, but I still enjoy the show. Also The Event has been pretty solid, havent heard many people talk about it. I'm watching it, but I'm 3 episodes behind on my DVR. I think it's pretty good, but it hasn't quite blown me away yet. I will stick with it. I just hope it doesn't go thet way of Flash Forward.

2010 Fall TV Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 11:15 AM) I know. I don't watch anywhere near as much TV as that would suggest, but Sundays are just ridiculous. During the week, the only shows I watch religiously are SOA and It's Always Sunny. I refuse to watch Terriers (which I've heard only great things about) just because I don't want to have that many shows I can't miss. DVR! Terriers is a can't miss for me. Well, you could wait until the DVDs come out.

Manny wants "Vlad-like" deal
Sure, why not. I would think he'd have a decent year. His ridiculous power may be gone, but he's still a force. Plus, his OBP is great. $5.5 million would be a bargain if he had a 2010 Vlad-like year in 2011.

SOXTALK NOV/DEC '10 LIST
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 06:56 AM) Don't scrap it, even if you can't approach it with the same mathematics of your other lists. Punt the lists to one of us who expressed an interest in pitching in on beer summaries and we can figure out how to share info and rate picks. That's what I was thinking. We can still create a list, and some of us could find a new beer to try.

Films Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 01:51 AM) The Road was a great movie but horribly depressing. Definitely gets you thinking though. Highly recommended. Great acting all around. I agree. I read the book first, and I found that the movie follows it almost exactly. Extremely depressing, but fantastic.

Quietly so no one sees . . .
Ha! It is a very effective filter!

Caught up with Terriers last night. That show gets better every week.

Jermaine Dye wants back.
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) I want Miranda Cosgrove. Until JD realizes he's a DH and only a DH he will stay unemployed. At first I was thinking you wanted Miranda Cosgrove to play for the Sox. Then I got what you were driving at...and I agree.

Jermaine Dye wants back.
So he turned down a $3 million deal from the Cubs? Was he saying he didn't want to play for the Cubs or didn't want to play for "only" $3 million? He might be worth a $1 million signing as long as he doesn't mind playing a lot of DH.

Who is going to be our best starter next season?
Right now I would say Danks. If Peavy comes back healthy, however, he could be up there.

SOXTALK NOV/DEC '10 LIST
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) So are we submitting Sam Adams or the particular type of Sam Adams I have three different Sam Adams beers on my list. A regular Sam Adams is their Boston Lager, but they have another dozen+ beers that are available, including some seasonal ones.

SOXTALK NOV/DEC '10 LIST
List submitted. I agree that I could have listed 100 beers. I looked at my top 20 in ratebeer.com and found that most of them many people probably never heard of. So, I tried to include some well known ones that I still really enjoy. I still would be surprised if my #1 or #2 are on many other lists.

2010 Fall TV Thread
I caught up with Sons of Anarchy last night. Great episode. I like seeing Kenny Johnson get some more episode time. I liked his character in The Shield...I hope Tig eventually lets him patch over.

SOXTALK NOV/DEC '10 LIST
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) I think I'm going to post my list here also...it's not yet set in stone though. I won't add anything I haven't had yet, but I'm trying to figure out what I'm obviously missing. Edited by Balta1701 to remove my list These are high on my list.

Off-Season Idea?
Go for it. I like the idea, however, of separating out the "what if" threads vs. the news-worthy threads.

SOXTALK NOV/DEC '10 LIST
I was thinking about this, and I checked my ratebeer.com reviews to come up with my top 10 or so. I'm up to 390 reviews, and I probably have 20 or so that I've rated excellent. But, some of those are not beer that I regularly drink. I think a beer like Blue Moon will make my list even though it's lower than the top 20 of my reviews. This is going to a time-consumer. Maybe I'll have to go pick up a few to "re-taste"...you know just to make sure my list is accurate.

November LIST ideas?
I'm game for a beer list.
