There was an article I read this morning that said the Sox are expected to be aggressive during the winter meetings. Aside from Konerko and Putz, I wonder what KW is aiming for. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few trades made, and Quentin, Viciedo, and others may be going elsewhere. Time will tell. This should be an interesting week.

The new banner is awesome. Hopefully Konerko will be added to it next week.

Think about this: If the Sox re-sign Konerko, their 3-4-5 combo of Rios, Dunn, and Konerko could give us 90+ HRs and 270+ RBIs. Talk about potent.

Yesterday on ESPN radio Buster Olney said he expects the Sox to go after Heath Bell for the bullpen. Obviously just his opinion, but he said if the Padres re-sign Hoffman, Bell would be expendable. I thought I heard that Hoffman may retire though. Hmmm

That's too bad. I hadn't heard anything about him being that ill.

This was a surprise. I logged on to SoxTalk this morning aiming to read more about the Dunn signing when I saw this. Great news. It's a good deal for the Sox and probably for AJ, too. I wonder if he had any other offers or concentrated on just coming back to the Sox. Also good news for me as I got my daughter a Pierzynski jersey in August.

If AJ does sign with the Blue Jays (or another team for that matter), AJ will get quite an ovation his first time back at The Cell. He won't be booed like when he's back in Minnesota.

ESPN sucks. The "Lead" part of their crawl didn't mention Dunn going to the Sox, but it did advertise that the Yankees and Jeter had talked again! Oh, and the 2022 World Cup will be in Qatar. Imagine if the Red Sox or Yankees had signed Dunn? They'd have cancelled all other programming.

3-4-5 could look like: Rios Dunn Konerko or Rios Konerko Dunn That's a hell of a trio.

Wow! I stepped away from my computer for 45 minutes and the outlook on the 2011 season changed dramatically. This is awesome news.

Landing Dunn and re-signing Konerko would be fantastic. That would be, however, about $27 million tied up in 1st and DH. But, as someone noted, you're looking at a payroll of about $115 million. That's not outlandish.

Man, I was actually getting some stuff accomplished here at work until this started.
