    Insanity

    here's my view of insanity. if you want muscle, P90X is the way to go. if you want to lean up, lose weight and tone, hit Insanity. Insanity will not BUILD muscle as quickly or well as P90X because, like shack said, there's no resistance training. What it will do, is kick the s*** out of you (think plyo every single day) and consequently by the end you'll be in incredible shape - just look more like a runner/swimmer as opposed to looking like john cena. all depends on your goals.

  5. bizarre - i went to sleep around 1:30/2ish so i guess i was dead to the world around 4:15... shame. I always miss these things. haha. although with my downstairs neighbor and the copious bass he pumping right now... i wouldn't be able to feel a mag 7 let alone 3.8...

As for the pullups/bands, I am reaching the point where I need to start doing actual pullups or I need to get the 50 pound bands. I am doing about 30-40 reps with a 30 pound band from about as far away from the door as I feel comfortable getting (plus, my body weight ends up getting pulled back towards the door anyways). Unfortunately, the bar is not an option for me as my doorways are too wide. We do have a gym in the building, but I don't recall if their is a bar in there or not. I guess it is possible to do some real pullups in there. I am excited to start some of the other routines next week. And 22 days in, the results are pretty incredible. Reddy, I take it this is your second time through? yeah it is. i didn't eat nearly well enough the first time through - and it's still been hard but i'm working on it. the problem i have is that since i'm trying to add bulk, i need 3000ish calories a day. doing that healthily is hard, having the money for it is even harder. lol. but i'm doing what i can. and yeah, if you can find a way to do actual pullups thats gonna be what you wanna do - that's a whole lotta reps you got going on there. but if not, if your gym has one of those machines with a bar you pull down (can't think of the actual name), you can sit there, adjust weight accordingly, and that will kind of simulate a pullup as well.

    love that this thread has gotten busy, so i'm gonna join in had Chest/Shoulders/Tris yesterday and damn do i hate that workout. i just hate doing basically every move - haha but hey it gets the job done. i'm nice and sore this morning. fortunately i've been consulted only to do about half of plyo because i'm trying to add bulk, and while plyo is great for slimming and toning, it does the exact opposite of the progress i'm trying to make. so i usually stop after the the third set - with jump knee tucks and mary katherines. on the flip side, i double time both so i'm wasted by the end of it. ok and i'd love to preach the value of yoga. what is it about it you guys don't like?

    the coolest theory that i've heard so far, and i'm inclined to agree with, is that the "new timeline" isnt a new timeline at all. The bomb changed what always happened and that's them in 2004, while the group at the swan are in 2007. The plane DIDN'T crash, but the island has a way of course-correcting. And eventually they'll all end up back there one way or the other.

I'm just not as captivated by all these convoluted story lines as I was in the first 2-3 seasons...that said its still must see TV and i can't wait for next week. Just thought things would be more clear this week and was a bit disappointed by it i'm with you. i feel like the episode had a bunch of really great moments, but as a whole, i'm still left as completely baffled as I was going into it... if not more so. And the only things they answered are the things we've all bee assuming already... lol
