  1. Ayo Chunk, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIG FELLA
  2. Haha, I've been confused all freaking day! First Shaq is out for the year, then he's not. And now this. :banghead
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 05:22 AM) 2006 will be the bulls spending spree which is nice since there are somedamn good free agents out there then. 2006 free agents. The Pistons will lock up Tayshaun and Big Ben for sure, the Suns will lock up Stoudemire, the Rockets will lock up Yao, etc. The sky is the limit for Al Harrington, though. However, I'm hearing that he might be trade bait (if not this year, then next year). All of a sudden, they have an embarassment of riches at the SG/SF slots. The Bulls have 4 rookies who are contributing, but the Hawks had the best draft IMO.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 05:17 AM) Any chance the Sixers could trade Webber on to the Knicks now for a package of players possibly? I'd extremely doubt it, but Webber loves New York and they love him too. Haha, Isiah Thomas loves every overpriced slightly over-the-hill player in this league. He goes to bed thinking about Jalen Rose, Donny Marshall, Vince Carter, and Chris Webber every night. And oh yeah, Eddy Curry.
  5. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 05:14 AM) There won't be a ring this year. Sure, in the East they'll be able to go far, but I still don't see the West losing to a team like that. Well, this ain't your pappy's West. The Spurs, the Suns, and that's it. No other team is a championship contender. The Mavericks might look good on paper, but they'd have a rough time with these 76ers in a 7 game series. Flip a coin. And of course, if we're talking Eastern Conference representatives, the Pistons should smash anybody with the exception of the Spurs. That's the only team that I can see knocking them off. You'd have to think that the Suns would be completely drained by the time the Western Conference Finals roll around, if they even make it that far.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 05:14 AM) Davis should be relagated to foul trouble minutes with the way Harrington's been playing since Davis got hurt a while back. Davis just has lost his game. I'm not saying he's not a good leader and a role model cause he's definately that, but it will be nice when he's gone. He will be an expiring contract next year correct? Or is this his final year? Regardless the Bulls could definately have some value in a guy like that, especially in a sign and trade if somehow they really covet is available this offseason. The Bulls owe Davis 14 million next year. Bulls Payroll
  7. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 04:56 AM) You said it yourself..."Tyson has what it takes to be an NBA first team defender". He hasn't even reached his potential... I agree, and I like Tyson's aggresiveness. But there's no one player on the team that stand head and shoulders above the rest, and my humble opinion is that the play of Kirk, Deng, or Ben is more important. I can respect that. A game log won't gauge the number of shots that Tyson alters, the number of loose balls that he comes up with, or the number of second-chance shots that he is indirectly involved in producing, but check out his turnovers forced per minute and his rebounds per minute. Also, take a look at what he does on the offensive glass: Chandler's Game Log Those numbers are insane...I mean, we're only talking about 27.3 minutes per game. I think that he's NBA second team all defense right now, at the age of 22. And it's like you said...Skiles puts guys in spots where they can succeed. In Chandler's case, Skiles is very conservative based on his injury history.
  8. Starting Squad: PG: Allen Iverson SG: Aaron McKie SF: Andre Iguodala PF: Chris Webber C: Samuel Dalembert I'm intrigued. But then again, I've been intrigued all along by the 2004/2005 76ers. I've been waiting for some results. This should put them over the top as far as their division is concerned.
  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 04:42 AM) Finley's numbers have also been declining each of the past 4 seasons, and he's not as clutch... We're comparing guys in their prime, hence the Vinnie Johnson mention.
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 04:29 AM) Clearly the MVP...LOL... You must have a warped sense of what an MVP is.. If you take away Kirk (especially), Ben, or Deng, this isn't the same team. To say that scoring is taken care of because of those guys goes against your point. That ALLOWS Tyson to concentrate on defense. It would actually be nice if he did have some sort of offense. Take away Tyson and Davis and Othella get some more minutes... An MVP that comes off the bench and doesn't put up the offensive numbers his talent should allow him to...good one... Hey, if you say so. They're all trying they're bestest to play some D, but Tyson has what it takes to be an NBA first team defender. You don't agree? That's fine. An MVP is a team's most valuable player. In the case of the Pistons, it's Ben Wallace (although you probably think it's Rip or somebody ) In our case, it's Tyson Chandler. Warped sense of what an MVP is? In the commercial sense, sure. It's one of those completely retarded concepts like pitchers not being considered for MVP awards in baseball, but whatever.
  11. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 03:34 AM) You guys are all off. The real similarities with a current player (and fellow UConn champ. winner) are so obvious... He's Rip Hamilton. I see absolutely no connection between Gordon and Hamilton. Rip is much taller, has damn good passing skills, hardly ever shoots the 3 ball, etc. I see no connection.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 04:09 AM) You guys don't seem to want to understand that Chandler doesn't get the minutes because of his questionable hands (sometimes it just seems to slip through), lack of offensive presence (you have to admit he has NO offensive moves), and mental mistakes. Although he has a lot more talent, potential, and upside, the fact of the matter is that Antonio Davis and Othella are going to make the better decisions... I hope we're watching the same games. I like what Skiles is doing because he rotates in a way that gives the team the best chance to win. People wanna complain about the minutes the players get, but I think Skiles is doing a great job. Too many of our guys are one-dimensional, so Skiles plays them at the right time. Curry is gonna play early because he sets the tone down low and scores early. He won't be in the game during crunch time because he has no idea what to do. Ben won't get his minutes because he sucks on defense, but his clutch shooting puts him in during crunch time. Tyson will be there to because he has the best chance as getting a timely block... We just had this argument. "Chandler will be there becasue he has the best chance at getting a timely block" Yeah, not to mention getting everyone's back on D, grabbing that crucial offensive rebound, altering a bunch of shots, etc. He is clearly the MVP of this team. As I stated before, I could care less about his scoring potential. We already have that area taken care of with Gordon, Hinrich, Deng, Curry, etc. I can live with 8 to 10 points a game off of offensive rebounds, a few free throws here and there, etc. As for Chandler not getting 30+ minutes because of his questionable hands and lack of offensive presence, I'll say it again....that's a load of crap.
  13. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) does anybody else find this oddly depressing? I hate to have to LEARN to hate Cubs. With Sosa and Alou, it was so natural. I knwo that have Dusty, Zambrano, and Wood but it's just not the same. Especially without the worst announcer of all time yelling "He gone" after a sox player strikes out. Clowns come and go, but it's still the same circus. I could care less about the actual players, though. I'm just severely annoyed by Cub culture (not necessarily related to what they put on the field).
  14. QUOTE(Spiff @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 02:36 AM) He's right, but he's just as boring. Haha, yeah. He was a terrific writer, and I absolutely love some of his tracks (especially "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" and "Like A Rolling Stone"), but a good chunk of his material will bore you to death, and in a lot of cases, it just doesn't sound right musically. But yeah, he's right on the money in saying that my generation is made up of completely useless, worthless musicians.
  15. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Schoeneweis being the player rep in and of itself shows why we did not win last year when we needed too. Schoeney being the player rep in and of itself shows why we didn't win last year when we needed to. You seriously believe that?
  16. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Funny because I wouldnt do it either. The Sonics rebounding has been so much better this year and Nick Collison is looking good in his first year. The way our team is built this year I wouldnt want Radman leaving for an inside player. I see that Collison is doing pretty well, but still, Tyson Chandler is not just merely an inside player. He's a defensive legend in the making, and I'm not trying to utilize hyperbole here. When it comes to Tyson, you don't have to exaggerate to make your point. In the big picture, Collison, James, Evans, Fortson, etc will get you to into the second round at best. It's gonna take a little more if you expect to take the Spurs out within the next three to four years. If you take a look at San Antonio's salary situation over the next 4 years, you'll see what I mean. That core will remain intact. San Antonio Payroll Parker is the one guy that they have to get locked down. Otherwise, they're set. You guys need Chandler, but you can't have him.
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) My choice is what I choose to do, and if I'm causin' no harm it shouldn't bother you. Your choice is who you choose to be, and if you're causing no harm, you're alright with me. Word
  18. Haha, when they found out that it wasn't true, Telander went on this whole rant about how you can't trust anything on the internet.
  19. Vasko (score update guy) just said: Miami Herald reported that Shaq is out for the season with ligament damage, but the team has yet to release anything.
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) It is fake. They got it from this article and almost quoted it word for word. He isn't even having the mri until tomorrow. http://miami.dolem.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/10968685.htm Man, I hope that someone calls up and and straightens these guys out, because they're still going on and on about it.
  21. That's what Rick Telander is saying right now. Has anyone else heard anything?

  23. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) PF is his only position. Which is a good thing, considering.... PF: Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Jermaine O'Neal, Kenyon Martin, Dirk Nowitzki, Carlos Boozer, Chris Webber, Elton Brand, Zach Randolph, Amare Stoudemire/Shawn Marion, Pau Gasol, Rasheed Wallace, etc. These are the players you want Tyson covering. And besides, as stated, he doesn't have the beef to play the center position.
  24. QUOTE(beck72 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) Chandler won't be going anywhere. Curry could be traded after the season, in a Jamal Crawford type trade once he signs a bigger contract for a power forward type, who can score down low and be a solid defender. Chandler could then move to C. His defense is irreplaceable. Eddy's scoring isn't Chandler is too fragile to handle the C position. PF is his only position.
