  1. Wow, the Seattle GM must really think that Paxson is a dope. The Bulls key to success this season: FG% differential Bulls MVP: Tyson Chandler (in a landslide) This rumor is disturbing, to say the least.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Yeah, it just took a while for me to understand that a guy nicknamed 'Pudge' has always been very lean, my bad. No, you're right. He received the affectionate nickname due to his baby fat when he reached the bigs.

    Cola

I think that soda is east coast lingo. I've always heard about these two: Soda vs. Pop Sofa vs. Couch

    Cola

When I was a kid, I loved Pepsi and I didn't care much for Coca Cola. When I started smoking, I all of a sudden loved Coca Cola and didn't care much for Pepsi. That taste test bulls*** always got on my nerves, because the difference is so obvious.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) I think harassing these people shows a lack of class and is just being inconsiderate, in general. FWIW I agree for the most part, but some people deserve to be harassed. Take Vin Diesel, for instance.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) Top Animated Shows of All Time 1. Family Guy 2a. South Park 2b. Simpsons (excluding the past 5 years) 4. Aqua Teen Hunger Force 5. Futurama Hmmm. Maybe it's just me, but I'd much rather watch King Of The Hill than Family Guy. That's a pretty controversial list you have there. That's almost like ranking the Beatles and having Ringo on top.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) Watch out for Josh Smith folks! I called it....I called it. The east is back too! WHOOOOOOOOOO! Let's hope the Bulls come out firing in the 2nd half!!!!!!! You're the man now, dog Since Josh got a starting gig back on December 10, he has forced 95 turnovers (65 BLK, 30 STL), or 3.4 turnovers forced per game. It's very unusual for a rookie to come in and pretty much dominate on the defensive end right off the bat, let alone a high schooler. This kid works hard at it. I picked him up on my fantasy team back in mid-January. I thought about snatching him up during Christmas after he had that 10 block game against Dallas, but I needed to see some more results.
  8. QUOTE(rangercal @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) That deal heavily favors the lakers. Their has to be something else to why Utah would do this. They're trying to shed Boozer's salary. And besides, they'll be looking to acquire some high-priced talent in their backcourt, IMO. Right now, they have a bunch of grinders back there, which obviously ain't enough if they have a championshiop trophy in mind.
  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Peja for Odom would have been interesting too... Peja to the Bulls would be even sweeter. Your average NBA fan would never agree with me, but we'd be better off getting Trenton Hassell (both for what we specifically need right now on defense and for reasons relating to the long term salary situation of the Bulls). I still have my doubts about Paxson after he cut Trenton in favor of Linton Johnson. Linton Muhf***in' Johnson? In 2006/2007, we have a total of 6 million committed to our players: Chicago Bulls Salaries We should keep it that way through the end of this season so that we could lock down Curry, Chandler, etc. Soon enough, we'll have to lock down Hinrich. Just for laughs, check out what the New York Knicks have committed to players in 2006/2007: New York Knicks Salaries 70 million???? Isiah Thomas = NBA Expert
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) You think Boozer is regretting screwing over Cleveland yet? Or Utah for taking advantage of them? Well, he's a second round pick making 12 million per year through 2010. I'm not saying that money is everything, but I have a feeling that Boozer doesn't have any regrets. But you knew that Utah would live to regret giving huge contracts to both Boozer and Okur. Utah Jazz Salaries What exactly did Okur do to deserve 9 million per year through 2010? At least Boozer is a rebounding force who could score 20+ on any given night.
  11. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) Not sure I like the trade unless Divac has an expiring contract. Vlade has a player option next year. Same with Devean George. Caron ain't making jack s***. LA Lakers Salaries I thought for sure that Odom would be involved in the Boozer deal, as he hasn't been able to coexist with Bryant. But like the article says, Odom could still be traded to another team.
  12. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:46 AM) I don't think he has a time machine that can go back 10 years. Yep, good point. The Simpsons started to suck right around 1997/1998. Likewise for SNL (at least in my opinion, anyway).
  13. The one that immediately comes to mind: Of course, no avatar has ever made me laugh harder, I'd have to say. Am I a bad guy? Yeah, probably.
  14. Horses***! This dude probably smoked on a regular basis for years, got bored with it, and moved on to cocaine. That's what all the geniuses do.
  15. There was an excellent Buehrle article in the Sun Times today. Apparently, he proposed to his girlfriend while sitting in a tree stand hunting for deer on his 1,200 acre property in rural Missouri. Also, he drove a car with a cracked engine block for most of his major league career before spoiling himself with a luxury car last season. If someone can post the Padilla story, that would be great. Here's the opening passage:
  16. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Seeing how girls and being drunk was brought up in this thread, I have a(n) observational question(s) to ask. On Friday, I was at a bar in downtown Champaign with a friend and her boyfriend drinking and as we're standing around, her boyfriend goes up to get a round of drinks for us. This random guy passes by my friend and grabs her ass. Now, here's me thinking "In thousands of years of evolution, how come guys haven't moved past something like that to try to approach a girl?" And really, who would meet a girl like that? I mean standing around at the wedding reception: "Well Bob, how'd you meet Stephanie?" "Well, I was drunk, she had some tight pants on..." I dunno, but if that was my girlfriend, I'd probably be in a jail cell come Saturday morning. You can't just look the other way when some dude grabs your girlfriend's ass. You're not the better man when you allow someone to get away with that. I was at a frat party in Crawfordsville, Indiana back in 1998 when some clown grabbed some girl's ass out of nowhere. What ensued was perhaps the most vicious beatdown that I have ever witnessed. I couldn't believe my eyes.
  17. The comments section is hilarious. This guy has waaay too much time on his hands: BTW, I'll never get the solution due to my geniusness.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) This is very good news. Understatement of the year. Having a family member kidnapped = unspeakably terrible
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) Gordon could score on anyone in the NBA when on. There is one reason he's not a starter and its his defense, defense, and once again defense. In fact, I'd say there is a shot Gordon can be a similar player to Allen Iverson when all is set and done but I don't know if thats exactly what Scott Skiles would want since Iverson can jack up some horrible shots. For his size, Allen Iverson is a tenacious defender, and he always has a respectable assist-to-turnover ratio. I'd say that, in the long term, there will be absolutely no connection between Gordon and Iverson with the exception of scoring and terrible shot selection (at times). Gordon can't start right now because his defense gets him into foul trouble (therefore making him unavailable in the 4th quarter), he has more turnovers than assists on the season (which is beyond terrible as he is in the backcourt), and he gets really tired in a hurry (which is to be expected in his rookie year).
  20. Fiance, 7 years, pajamas and flowers, eggplant parmigiano at Amici's Fine Italian Cuisine, oooooohhhhh yeeeeeaahhhhh.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Is underground hip hop still around? Unfortunately, most people judge hip-hop based on the crap that makes the radio and videos nowadays. There is absolutely nothing good being made nowadays, but the scene was still booming up through 2001, I'd say. At least in the Bay Area and Boston, anyway.
