  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 04:30 AM) I didn't read the rest of the thread yet but it is fact that two regulation basketballs can fit side by side in a rim. I will look for an actual article on it but on here it is seventh from the bottom on the person's list. http://www.snopes.com/message/ultimatebb.p...000418/p/1.html A quote from that thread:
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) Anyone else thing another lottery pick is bettter than a playoff series loss? The Phoenix Suns get our first round pick next year unless we land a Top 3 overall pick in the draft. Also, historically, teams must make an appearance in the playoffs and fail before they can succeed, at least in the NBA. It's sort of a rite of passage, I guess you can say.
  3. QUOTE(KittleWalk83 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Let's see Raiders, 81 and 84 Redskins 82 and 88 Niners 80, 85, 89 That's 7 Super Bowls won by three teams. Add the 1980 Steelers (the last of 4 SB) the 1986 Giants (who in 90 would win their second SB) and then the FLUKE 85 Bears. Who are still waiting for a return trip to the Super Bowl. If winning a championship every 21 years isn't a FLUKE, I don't know what is. 63. 85. 2006??? With the losers on and running the Bears that's really going to happen. Is that so hard for you to figure out? Oh don't answer that, it may take you forever to figure it out, moron. Haven't you figured out that the only fluke is the Bears not winning more than one? Who brings an argument like this to the table? One championship = fluke Two championships = certifiable If I were you, I'd just abandon this account, get a new username, and start all over. There's not a person on this site who respects you, straight up.
  4. QUOTE(AirScott @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) and while watching those 2 lose the game for us I'm looking on the internet how to tie a quality noose. Nice one. Welcome to soxtalk.
  5. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) I've never understood the infatuation some people have for White Castle. I haven't had one in YEARS. They just built one not too far from me, maybe I should give it another chance? When it's 3 in the morning on a Saturday night and nothing else is open, I'll go for some sliders with extra pickles and no onions.
  6. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 06:00 AM) I frequent Fast Food places around three times a week. I frequent fast food places damn near every day, sometimes twice a day. My favorite is either shrimp from the local fish markets, or a juicy beef sandwich loaded with hot peppers. Good beefs are hard to come by on the northwest side of Chicago...thank heaven for Rosati's.
  7. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) This is a tough call, but off the top of my head. I'd go with "In My Life" by the Beatles. Same here.
  8. QUOTE(KittleWalk83 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 06:48 AM) Look morons Everyone is a moron besides Kittle, apparently. Why don't you just come clean and admit that you're a Packers fan? Remember, they only won one Super Bowl during the 90s. According to your logic, that would be a fluke, correct?
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) Othella Harrington is a 9th man for the bench. And he does just fine there. Exactly, and that's precisely what we'd get for him in return.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) We still need to upgrade size wise at the two guard. Raja bell would be perfect. Raja Bell is a wonderful bench player. I've always liked him from what I've seen in the playoffs with Philadelphia and Dallas. Utah is dangerous when everyone is healthy. I don't think that they'd even consider parting with Bell. A similar player is precisely what we need, not that this year actually means anything considering that we have 4 rookies in the 8 man rotation (not including two big guys who would just now be graduating from college).
  11. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) No, but I think they have some expiring contracts. A serviceable big in Harrington and/or Antonio Davis. And I think they still have their mid-level exception, don't they? it's not always about players... Antonio Davis is making a s***load of cash, and he's almost 37 years old. Nobody would take him...not even Isiah Thomas. Okay, maybe Isiah would take him. Othella Harrington might get us a 9th man for the bench.
  12. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) I know the deadline is a few weeks away, but if they come through February still in playoff position, or real close, should they make a trade for the playoff run? Their 1st round pick goes to the Suns next year, and after that, the picks that they get (bottom 1/3 of the first round) will be worthless. They're not going to trade players from this core: Eddy Curry Tyson Chandler Kirk Hinrich Ben Gordon Luol Deng Andres Nocioni Chris Duhon They have nothing to trade as far as I can tell.
  13. Steve Francis is a must-have fantasy player who you don't want on your actual team, similar to Stephon Marbury. These guys are not winners. I think that the Magic are a good team. I went as far as to say that they're better than the Lakers back in mid-December, IIRC (not so sure about that right now on Jan 31, however). Howard hasn't been as effective as he was through early December, which isn't that big of a surprise. He had 10 or more rebounds in each of his first 15 games. Man Of Steel, you should mention Dwight Howard first and foremost when discussing the key players on the Magic, and not some flashy turnover-prone point guard with a shoot first mentality. These turnover numbers are disgusting: Steve Francis Profile This ain't a Brooklyn playground or whatever...this is professional basketball. Teams win, not individuals. Of course, Grant Hill and Doug Christie are excellent role players, and you can't really front on the center combo of Cato/Battie. Together, they're effective. They'll get waxed in the playoffs, but they're a good team...despite Mr. Francis.
  14. QUOTE(KittleWalk83 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) I heard that McMahon opened up a restaurant after the Bears fluke Super Bowl season. Fluke super bowl season...didn't we go 18-1 that year? Playoffs: VS NYG 21-0 VS LA RAMS 24-0 VS NE 46-10 Seriously, get the f*** outta here. You're either a Packers fan, a dumbass, or both.
  15. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jan 30, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Well what does it say when everyone's talking about being traded and they still go out and beat the Bulls? Who cares? Chicago went into Detroit twice within the past month and won both games. Meanwhile, Detroit is a championship contender and Chicago is a 6th or 7th seed team at best right now.
  16. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jan 30, 2005 -> 07:15 AM) Wow, this is sweet. I usually don't gloat but f*** everyone who got on the Celts' case and pretended like Chicago was soooo superior. f*** off. You've been brought down to earth. Boston is a terrible defensive team. If not for the potential of Jefferson/Allen/West, I'd dismiss the Celtics as wack altogether. Depth don't mean a damn thing if it ain't organized. The Bulls are 18-4 since December 15 with two five game winning streaks and one seven game winning streak, while the Celtics are 11-13 with a few two game winning streaks. The Bulls have great team chemistry going right now, while the Celtics have players who openly discuss how great it would be for them to be traded. "I'm excited about the trade to Phoenix" said McCarty. "I'm trying not to get too excited because it could fall through. It's a great opportunity." "I expect to be traded to the Sacramento Kings or Minnesota Timberwolves" said Payton. Sounds like these guys are very excited about Celtics basketball.

  19. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Jan 28, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Frank Stallone? I thought that Frank Thomas was only in Married With Children. I completely forgot about Mr. Baseball. I've never seen that movie, but I do remember reading something like that. Frank Stallone was the only other Frank that came to mind.
