Guys, I've really enjoyed sharing this special season with all of you. I can't believe tonight may be the night that WE WIN THE PENNANT. Let's end it tonight!!! I hope we don't have to see the Sox in pinstripes, unless it's against the Astros or Cardinals next Saturday!!!

Freddy, Freddy, Freddy Freddy. You are pitching in hot weather, on the road, in a big game. You don't really need to ask for anything else. Just follow your co-horts, pitch your ass off and get your team 1 victory closer to the W.S. I will be watching intently, luckly Buehrle jersey on. Sox hitters: This is a different Santana you are facing (not Johan). Take the same approach as last night and you guys should come out on top.

GARLAND Copying your buddy, Buehrle I see. The last time two pitchers to throw back-to-back complete games in LCS games was back in 1997. Livan Hernandez and Kevin Brown for the Marlins vs. the Giants. I think we all know the outcome of that team......

Jon, I had faith in you all along. Go have some more Subway sandwiches. Nice to see the hitters come to life. Huge. Huge f***ing win. This is such a great feeling. Gooch Konerko Tomorrow, is a blueprint for Freddy. Big game. Big Stage. On The Road.

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) I believe if you would try Cape Cod brand potato chips, you might change your preferences. I buy no other kind. Those are the best chips in the entire f***ing planet. Hands down.

I've got South Side roots dating back to my grandparents. My entire has been fans since we were all born. We we all get together, its dinner conversation fodder. As for myself, I was raised in Western Springs, Illinois. Now, the wife and I reside in comfy Rolling Meadows in our comfy condo. Don't know where it is? Look at my alien looking friend on the map. I got as close as I could.

Never thought I'd see that beautiful logo printed on those tickets. P.S. This picture was taken from chicagosports.com

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Just a little over 3 hours until game time... Pods, LF Iguchi, 2B Dye, RF PK, 1B Everett, DH Rowand, CF AJ, C Crede, 3B Uribe, SS Gar, RHP Ozzie said if the hitting doesn't pick up he may start switching some guys again. Might be a good time for Jermaine Dye to do something productive.

Found this article from last week. Hope it wasn't posted already. Some stuff we already know, others we don't.

A.J. , as I've thought to myself and I'm sure many people think, is the best Sox catcher since the Fisk days. I hated him with the Twins. He always got the clutch hit to put them ahead ala Jacque Jones. What he has done here in with the Sox, the pitching staff, and seeing him clap his hands when gets a 2B, etc. those are the kinds of players we all love. He's the best. He deserves to be here for a long time and he will be here for a long time.

I remember there being a few threads on this. But one particular bar I remember is The Neutral Zone in a suburb called Westmont (63rd & Cass Ave). Huge TVs and some Sox players were prone to hang out there during the season. There's also Brixie's in Brookfield. Although, I'm sure these days, any bar would be a "Sox Bar".

Of all the starters, I have the least confidence in Garland. Especially since he hasn't pitched in nearly two weeks. Hopefully all that stuff about his sinker not working when he's strong is a bunch of fluff. Lackey is also a good pitcher and if our offense has scored only 4 runs in two games, it may be hard to score some more in this game. Going up 2-1 with Freddy tomorrow would be HUGE. Also, anytime Jermaine Dye would like to show up for the post-season, that would be great. That being said, Oh and BTW, I've heard just about enough of this dropped 3rd strike bulls***. I just can't wait for the game to start tonight so we can't just move on.
-
Have fun! Hope you see 2 Sox Winners and are home in time to see them win 1 more.
-
I'll be updating my video when the Sox complete their post-season run. Complete with pictures and possibly videos, too (sans Berman).

Great post. I completely agree. I was hi-fiving my brothers and dad and anyone in my sight. I feel good that they won for Mark more than anything. He pitched his ass off. That picture says it all.
-
Don't know his name, but he sang a Rusted Root song. As for the guy who played the National Anthem, that kicked ass. Certainly no Jimi, though. Obama looks like he could be a crafty lefty in someone's bullpen.

Here are some highlights from the umpires post-game press conference. I don't have any significant to add other than this has been a great thread to read. Good job, Krush. Umpire Post-Game Conference

From where our seats were last night, I thought he hit it out. It wasn't until we got to the car that I realized it was only a double. Fittingly, before the inning they played "I'm Holding Out For A Hero" Although, I'm wondering if that song should be dedicated last night to AJ or Joe last night.
-
My thinking is Scioscia will be pissed off and the rest of the Angels will be looking at Garland like a Tee Ball stand. I pray that doesn't happen. That ump last night was so inconsistent with his strike zone, that it really didn't surprise me that the call happened. He didn't really seem to know what was going on.

Somehow, for some reason, I just don't feel good about this one. Then again, I felt like that about Game 2 and we got that one, complete with wrapping paper with a bow on top. Jon -- do your thing.
-
Off to the Red Line I go for my 1st, but hopefully not last, ALCS Sox game. Hope I see a winner.

There was an article on this in the Sun-Times. http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-nws-nocelebs12.html f*** Off John Cusack. We don't need you.
