  1. Having Hawk throw out the 1st pitch would be awesome. Oh, well.
  2. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) With how well he has been hitting, do you bat Crede 5th? I wouldn't. Why change a good thing. If it ain't broke....
  3. Congrats, Ozzie!! Not a big surprise. 4 more wins and you become a Chicago Sports Legend.
  4. Never found the humor in "3rd Rock" or even "Frasier" for that matter. "Newsradio" should be in the Top 3
  5. One thing's for sure, if the 'Stros win, Oswalt will not pitch Game 1. It's the lesser of two evils.
  6. QUOTE(BabyJesus69 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) i think it's morton. hasselhoff went to lyons township. As did Ted McGinley
  7. Superman III (Richard Pryor? GMAFB) and IV. Should've just stopped with II Rocky V
  8. Okay.... Escobar, Rodriguez, Donnelly.. What's with the f***ing goggles?
  9. It took him this long to say this! I'm not surprise. What a jag.
  10. Just wait until next years' Crosstown Series at The Cell. When the Sox take the Field, Gene Honda will announce, "Your World Champion, Chicago White Sox." Then, just look around at the Cub fans and smile.
  11. IMO, it should have been Crede. Won Game 2 with a clutch hit. Tied Game 5 with a clutch HR. Won Game 5 with a clutch hit. There's always the World Series, I guess. In any event, here's to Paulie.
  12. :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs
  13. Sweet Lou didn't do a bad job considering he came right from the dugout. The other guys..... :puke They talked about that Goddamned catcher's interference for about 4 innings.
  14. QUOTE(SS Gload @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) How could he leave the starters for the ninth inning? BRING IN HERMANSON!! Exactly. Chad Hermansen was warming up. He should have brought him in.
  15. Joe Crede. From the most frustrating hitter in the Sox lineup, to the hero in the Sox lineup. The man who drove in the winning run in the Sox pennant winning game. The man who won Game 2. Then man who tied the Game with a HR. I will never doubt you again. You will go down in White Sox lore. Not only that, you're rather solid with the glove. Hats off to you. May your "rallying" continue in the World Series. This crow tastes rather good.
  16. Just a few channels with video links. ABC-7 NBC-5
  17. You know, as much as everyone has been critical of Jerry over the years, I'm really happy for him. That was really nice.
  18. There was no other place that I wanted to be to see the Chicago White Sox win the AL pennant than my parents' house last night. Talk about die-hard fans. They've had season tickets since forever, even since the days of fighting off last place. I'm happier for them than anyone. They saw the '59 WS, they'll be going on Saturday to Game 1. Now, hopefully they can see a World Series winner. I swear I was trembling last night. To hear John Rooney's call. It was historic. God bless White Sox fans and the Chicago White Sox team.
  19. AL Manager: Ozzie Guillen AL ROY: Robinson Cano AL Cy Young: Bartolo Colon AL MVP: David Ortiz AL Exec of the year: Kenny Williams NL Manager: Bobby Cox NL Cy Young: Cris Carpenter NL ROY: Jeff Francouer NL MVP: Albert Pujols NL Exec of the Year: Walt Jockety
  20. Pettitte and Clemens are no strangers to the Sox. The only one of the big 3 we've never faced (outside out Interleague) is Oswalt, who is the nastiest of all of them. Then there's Lidge, who IMO, is the NL's version of Rivera. I wish the Cardinals could rally and we can face them.
  21. This is going to be the LONGEST f***ing week that I can remember. Why can't it be Saturday already? Houston? St. Louis? Who gives a s***. It's the World Series. BTW, that is one beautiful trophy that Ozzie and Jerry were holding. But there's another one that they can hold, too.
  22. Congratulations, White Sox!!! You guys worked your asses off all year. Proving the critics, media and everyone else wrong. This has been the best baseball season of my life.
  23. Win it for my parents. Especially my Dad, who missed the '59 World Series because he was in college. And for the rest of my family, who I am enjoying this run with. Win it for Big Frank (we wish he could be in the lineup) Win it for the Hawkeroo (we all wish he was calling the games) Win it for John Rooney (may he go out in style) Win it for Da Mare. His dad enjoyed a World Series, so he should, too. Win it for Ozzie. He does not get enough credit. But most of all, win it for all the other long-suffering South-Siders, Chicagoans and anyone else who put their heart, soul and hard-earned money into this team. Who knows what the future brings. Enjoy it.
