Best performance of a pitcher
Contreras' outing against Cleveland in the 1st game after the All-Star Break. Honorable Mention: His CG performance at the Cell against the Twins in September. Jacque Jones couldn't hit his forkballs to save his life.

Favorite Old School Nickelodeon Show
Double Dare was great, although I thought it was ironic considering Marc Summers had OCD.

Chicago has 5 of 20 worst bottlenecks
Not surprised at all about the 294/290 interchange. Sometimes when I drive downtown to work, I'm moving right along until I hit that. Talk about a crrraaawwwwllll.

[SPEECHLESS]
I HEARD about the story, but didn't read it. I can't put up with people abusing animals like that. Heartless, f***ing bastards. I look at my dog and am proud that he has a good home.

Oscar Noms Are In...
Glad to see Terrence Howard get recognized for "Hustle & Flow". He was damn good in it. IMO, it's a foot race between Joaquin Phoenix & Phillip Seymour Hoffman for best actor. Everywhere else, who knows.

Razzie Nominations Are In...
Most Tiresome Tabloid Targets: How Could Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie/Jennifer Aniston/Vince Vaughn not be nominated? They would win in a landslide.

Movie sequels here or on the way..
Am I alone in not being interested in the new Superman movie? Some movies are better left alone. In my opinion, there is only one "Superman" in the movies, and he is no longer with us.

Who needs a butt kicking
Allright I'm starting to feel like George Carlin. People who wear sunglasses indoors.... People who talk on their cell phone (I'm sensing a trend) the entire train ride about nothing but menial s***. And also talking loud enough so the entire car can hear... And, for those who saw Scrubs on Tuesday, when Dr. Cox was complaining how guys wear their phones on their beltclip when it's mere inches from their pockets.... it had me ROFL.

Benefits of Being a season Ticket Holder
I'd rather get a call from Chris Widger. They showed him working the phones last night.

Frank Thomas signs with Oakland Athletics
I agree with Milkman. I was a Sox fan long before Frank came around. I knew he was never the clubhouse, team leader, etc. He was always b****ing about his contract, arguing with his own manager about spring training exercises, etc. I would of thought that yesterday at the press conference he would say that "I'm so happy to be a part of the A's organization. I'll do anything I can to help them win." Instead he took it as an opportunity to take parting shots at the Sox. Not to mention his continuing quest for 500 HRs. Personally, I don't think he'll hold up to do it. His #'s are already there for the HOF. But with him still saying this stuff, it proves once again that he's a stat guy and not a team guy. I say good riddance to him and Welcome to Chicago Jim Thome. He was a big headache to KW and probably Ozzie to.

Minaya and Mets seeking Contreras
Aaron Heilman + Milledge. Plug McCarthy into the rotation and put Heilman in the pen.

Thome, Pods, Dye, Crede, Hermanson, & Anderson
Pods better be careful and not pull anything on his wedding night right before ST. He's getting married on February 4 to the one and only Lisa Dergan....

Frank Thomas signs with Oakland Athletics
This has been rumored for some time. I guess they were waiting to see if his foot was all healed. It was just inevitable. So long Hurt. We had a hard enough time beating the A's. Now we have to face him 8 or 9 times next year. I'm just glad he'll get a chance for 500 now.
