  1. QUOTE(G&T @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 11:21 PM) I just saw on Fox News that they are demolishing the building the shooting took place in. Sounded like they building a new one called "Memorial Hall." I heard on the way home tonight that Blago is asking the GA for $40 million in emergency funds to raze the building and put up a new "Memorial Hall". I don't know the building (is it old, falling apart or what) but considering the state really doesn't have any 'extra' money is it really necessary to raze the current building and put up a new one???? change the name of the existing building...doesn't cost anything except maybe a few signs. Maybe close the room where the shooting took place and turn it into some sort of memorial for the victims..but a whole new building?????? Unless the building was scheduled to be demolished in the next few years, i think it's a waste of money the state probably doesn't have.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 07:33 PM) Does anyone think that the Aaron that Kate has as a child in the flash forward could be her actual child? Could both Claire and Aaron have died on the island, and a pregnant Kate (who lied to Sawyer about being prego) named her baby after Aaron to remember them? Thoughts? I think Aaron is Aaron. Though thinking about it...it would be hard to explain where he came from. He wasn't listed as a passenger, so he had to have been born after the crash..but last night on the stand Jack said Kate helped rescue the other 5 of the Oceanic 6. So Jack said everyone else died in the crash but where did Aaron come from then???? hmmmmm. Anyways..i think on the island Jack will make a wrong decision that will cost Claire her life. (Whether it's a medical or tactical decision remains to be seen). Jack feels so guilty about the death he can't even look at Aaron since he feels responsible for his mothers death. my wife thinks that maybe Jack finds out that Claire is his half-sister and is so mad at his dad he can't even look at his half-nephew. (but...i know she's wrong about that.. )

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) It's never been confirmed, but you were able to piece the clues together - Jack's dad went to Sydney to see his kid before he died. There was some other piece of information too that proved Claire was that kid, I just can't remember what it is. In Ana-Lucia's flashback she drove Jack's dad to see his daughter. He went to the house and argued with a woman. That woman was the same actress that played Claire's mom in her flashbacks so it's assumed that it's supposed to be the same character.

  12. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) don't worry - Flair is NOT wrestling Hogan. besides...at this point Hogan needs the WWE more than the WWE needs Hogan
  13. Saw the season ender for Nip/Tuck last night and i got to say....they got me back with the start this season and just about lost me (again) here at the end.

  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 11:22 PM) My Dad saw Bill Haley And His Comets at his high school. That, to me, beats almost anybodies "I saw so and so" stories. Only if the Fonz was there.....lol
  16. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 12:16 AM) Flair shouldn't have to carry a gimpy has-been around in his final match. Hogan is so f***ing delusional. Let him gather up Eric Bischoff, his favorite hyper chihuahua puppet Jimmy Hart, and every washed-up hack living under a bridge and they can all bleed red ink for a while. I know I've been dying for a Brian Knobbs vs Honky Tonk Man match for YEARS now. Barf. i agree....i was just saying that if we were gonna be forced to see Flair and Hogan....i'd like to see it go down that way instead of a draw,DQ, God (McMahon) forbid....a Hogan win..UGGH!!!!!
  17. Saw this online today: Just days after claiming that he is on the verge of starting his own wrestling promotion with Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan now says that he wants to fight Ric Flair at WrestleMania. Hogan told MTV.com, "they need a main event real bad, brother" and said WWE still has a lot of tickets to sell. Hogan said that with Flair's career on the line, it's the perfect match to have - and he even has an idea for who could be the special guest referee. “Either he’ll put me out for good or I’ll put him out for good. One or the other. That would be the match of the new millennium. Hogan vs. Flair. Maybe get Vince McMahon as a special guest referee. Me and Flair both hate Vince.” Umm.....Hogan....i hate to tell you this but Hogan vs. Flair might have been the match for the LAST millennium but i can't think of anyone who would really be interested in seeing that at WM. The only way that match would be nice would be to have Flair win clean then announce his retirement. I thought the set-up for WM last night on Raw was pretty lame. gee....another triple threat match for the title. If HHH is the Cerebral Assassin (I'm sure i spelled that wrong) then as guest referee why wouldn't he screw Cena in his match vs. Orton last night and knocking him out of the WM championship match?? It's alot easier to be one guy for the title than two at the same time. I guess real world logic shouldn't make it's way into the wrestling world...lol
  18. At SIU, i had lots of my pre-major classes in the big lecture halls. there were never any assigned seats but usually people sat in the same spots. 20. Wikipedia, the free online encyclopaedia, is refusing to remove medieval artistic depictions of the Prophet Muhammad, despite being flooded with complaints from Muslims demanding the images be deleted. More than 180,000 worldwide have joined an online protest claiming the images, shown on European-language pages and taken from Persian and Ottoman miniatures dating from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, are offensive to Islam, which prohibits any representation of Muhammad. But the defiant editors of the encyclopaedia insist they will not bow to pressure and say anyone objecting to the controversial images can simply adjust their computers so they do not have to look at them. The images at the centre of the protest appear on most of the European versions of the web encyclopaedia, though not on Arabic sites. On two of the images, Muhammad's face is veiled, a practice followed in Islamic art since the 16th century. But on two others, one from 1315, which is the earliest surviving depiction of the prophet, and the other from the 15th century, his face is shown. Some protesters are claiming the pictures have been posted simply to 'bait' and 'insult' Muslims and argue the least Wikipedia can do is blur or blank out the faces. Such has been the adverse reaction, Wikipedia has been forced to set up a separate page on its site explaining why it refuses to bow to pressure and has also had to set up measures to block people from 'editing' the pages themselves. In a robust statement on the site, its editors state: 'Wikipedia recognises that there are cultural traditions among some Muslim groups that prohibit depictions of Muhammad and other prophets and that some Muslims are offended when those traditions are violated. However, the prohibitions are not universal among Muslim communities, particularly with the Shia who, while prohibiting the images, are less strict about it. 'Since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia with the goal of representing all topics from a neutral point of view, Wikipedia is not censored for the benefit of any particular group. 'So long as they are relevant to the article and do not violate any of Wikipedia's existing policies, nor the law of the US state of Florida where Wikipedia's servers are hosted, no content or images will be removed because people find them objectionable or offensive.' The traditional reason given for the Islamic prohibition on images of prophets it to prevent them from becoming objects of worship in a form of idolatry. But, say the editors, the images used were examples of how Muhammad has been depicted by various Islamic sects through history and not in a religious context. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They mentioned their servers and in Florida.....how long before something happens in the Sunshine State????

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 07:24 PM) What the hell was with all of Ben's passports and s***. Insane At least it proves that Ben can and probably has left the island whenever he's needed to. one thing I found interesting last night was when John captured Sayid and company using Hurley as the bait. I was thinking that if I was Hurley, who would I rather have mad at me...Sayid or John???? I would have told Sayid and pissed off John. Sayid can be a scary dude. Though my wife thought he had nice hair when he was off-island.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) I think the Ben scene was a hallucination or dream at the end or Sayid has access to and from the island and the ending was on the island. I am starting to think Kate and Jack in the finale of season 3 may have been a dream as well........ I think Ben and Sayid are going after the group that is looking for the rest of the people who stayed on the island. like the skinny black guy (can't remember his name) who showed up to see Hurley.
