QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 08:20 PM) I think a cutback in ties is entirely appropriate. Possibly trade sanctions, no idea how much trade is left with that country though. But here's my counterpoint question...what happens if some guard resists an operation to pull this person out? How much bloodshed would you tolerate? 1 death? 10? 100? We could offer to give them back Manute Bol for the teacher!!!!!!!!!!

ORLAND PARK, Ill. (STNG) - If you happen to lock yourself out of your former employer's office during an attempted break-in, you might not want to ask for help to retrieve the incriminating evidence you left behind. Police believe Silva Schleiter-Doede, 43, of 17364 S. Parker Road, Lockport, did just that Sunday when she found herself locked out of the closed and locked office at JC Penney's optical department in the Orland Square Mall. Schleiter-Doede, a doctor, has in the past subcontracted for JC Penney, but she stopped working for the company in April this year, police said. Orland Park police said she found a hidden key and used it Sunday to open the office within the main store, which was open at the time. Police said she was inside for about two hours. During that time, she twice carried items from the office to her car, security tapes show, though JC Penney isn't sure what she took, police said. When Schleiter-Doede discovered she'd locked herself out of the office - where her purse and other belongings still were sitting - she asked a store employee for help, police said. The move almost worked. The employee agreed to help her. He found a ladder and tried to climb into the drop ceiling. From there, he planned to climb into the office and open the door. But after he climbed up the ladder, the man decided it was too dangerous and climbed back down. Schleiter-Doede, getting desperate, decided to scale the ladder and crawl into the ceiling. As she climbed the ladder, the employee tried to stop her, telling her to get off the ladder. Schleiter-Doede continued, however, and climbed into the ceiling where she fell through, smashing ceiling tiles and a metal pipe as she crashed to the floor. The fall cut her finger, which then bled on the floor. Schleiter-Doede has been charged with criminal trespass and criminal damage.

DUBLIN (Reuters) - A thief made off with 180 kegs of Guinness beer after smoothly driving into the Dublin brewery which makes the black stout and snatching a trailer load of drink, police said on Thursday. The incident took place on Wednesday at the Guinness brewery on the banks of Dublin's River Liffey where Ireland's trademark tipple has been brewed for almost 250 years. The lone raider's haul also contained 180 kegs of Budweiser and 90 barrels of Carlsberg lager, police said. "A man drove into the yard in a truck and took a trailer containing the drink which has an estimated value of 64,000 euros (46.000 pounds)," a police spokesman said. I guess police needs to look for the biggest party this weekend!!!!

It's a moot question because after hearing about the fight, Carlton Fisk would show up and whip them all. You know...Carlton Fisk doesn't do push ups.he pushes the Earth down!!!!! (Then again.....if a tag team was needed, Fisk would call on the awsomeness that is Dan Pasqua and all would be over!!!)

Torii Hunter signs with LAA Angels
juddling replied to joejoesox's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
with Hunter out of the picture....KW should turn all his attention to getting Crawford. I don't care if he needs to dump a couple of prospects their way. Crawford shores up your leadoff spot and up the middle defense. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 22, 2007 -> 03:22 AM) My faith in this organization has bottomed out. f*** this group heading our beloved -- your going to give $19 f***ing million to Scott Linebrink? Gosh damnit. considering the problems we had in the pen last year...the Sox just picked up a guy with a career record of 30 16 with an ERA of 3.21 with 159 walks and 378 K WTG Kenny -

John McDonough in as Blackhawks President
juddling replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
With the switch from the Cubs to the Blackhawks...i think he just increased his odds of winning a championship from 1,000,000 to 1 to around 999,999 to 1. -
i heard Stoney on the Score yesterday after the trade was announced. He said he thought it was a good trade for both the Sox and the Angels. Personlly..i'd like to see a shortstop at the plate that won't swing at a ball at his eye-level two or three times a game.

Did anyone else enjoy "Slapsgiving" yesterday???? i thought the episode was kind of lame up until the last 10 minutes or so. The song afterwards was excellent.

i hope Kenny takes whatever cash that was included in that deal and throws it towards Hunter. That would make this trade a bit less painful to some. I hate to see Jon go but at the same time...we won't have to watch him give up a 6 or 7 run inning every 4th game or so. Besides....with the way pitching prices have gone lately....his next contract would price him right out of Chicago anyways.

Man shoots burglars while on phone with cops
juddling replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in The Filibuster
From the story.. If the absent homeowner tells police that he asked his neighbor to watch over his property, that could play in his favor, LaFon said. "If the homeowner comes out and says, 'My neighbor had a greater right of possession than the people trying to break in,' that could put him (the gunman) in an ownership role," LaFon said. The Texas Penal Code says a person can use force or deadly force to defend someone else's property if he reasonably believes he has a legal duty to do so or the property owner had requested his protection. If i was that neighbor, i'd be telling the police "Sure i asked him to keep an eye on the place". even if I didn't. -
