  1. QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why do you pretend you're a White Sox fan? your gigs getting old buddy.....not too mention how many "true fans" have 2 favorite teams anyways?? Please, don't make stupid unnecessary comments.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have the right to think that way but Ozzie speaking his mind does not make him an embarrasment imo. He's never going to be politically correct but so be it, I couldn't care less about that. There are times when he could choose his words more carefully but when he's asked a question he is going to say exactly what is on his mind. I don't see how that's an embarrasment but that's your opinion so whatever. To each his own, I suppose.
  3. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahh, get over it already. The vast majority of White Sox fans love Ozzie. I dunno what the f*** you are. You sure as hell ain't no White Sox fan. He's taking us straight to the gutter = my ass The face of a classy organization doesn't do what Ozzie's been guilty of on numerous occassions. So what the hell is Kenny Williams talking about, are his goals to make the White Sox a classy organization or is this attendance boost simply due to being a winning team?
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Sox were the most talented team in the al central 01-04, the sox were the most talented team in baseball in 03, before ozzie talent never won out for the sox. Point taken, but how is this organization supposed to be a first class one when there manager is an embarassment?
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 01:55 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ya, this is so damn hard to figure out. The White Sox were the most talented team in the game last year, alot of the times the most talented team wins. Perhaps, it's harder to figure out why his job is so secure.
  6. Ken Williams, four months ago: "Ozzie is still growing into his position and the responsibility of his position, as well as am I. We'll continue to evolve in a way that is first class. ... We want to win in a first-class manner and be known as a first-class organization. We got a little bit of work to do, but we'll keep at it." Ozzie Guillen cannot control himself, and his apologies are not apologies at all. Blaming everyone but yourself is not an apology, it's an embarrassment. The fact that he's turning this organization from one heading in the direction of first class to the gutter, all the while being a lackluster manager at best, only makes it harder to fathom why people want him in Chicago.
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 06:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I've been in Cincy all weekend, and I my post wasn't intending to put words in your mouth. Not every post of the Red Sox or their fans is directed towards or about you. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey man, they were able to get a dominating AAA player for David Riske. :rolly Even though Lopez has performed well, if you were around for that other thread, you'd know that I voiced my opinion of how horrible the deal infact was. Get real.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If the Angels were giving up Weaver for a backup, I don't see why they'd send along any cash. It's not exactly like the Angels need another 1st baseman, they have like 3 guys who have had playing time there already this season, all of whom are young. Weaver has been horrid this season, he's making so much money that Snow's salary doesn't even take a bite out of it. Cash is going to be included regardless of who the Angels acquire, atleast some. Quinnlan, Kotchman, Morales. They all aren't cutting it. Just a thought. And for the record, I didnt mean Texiera, even though he's not performing too well either this season.
  10. Papelbon could very well be in the starters role next season, depending on how well Hansen and Delcarmen grow in the next year. As for this year, he'll remain in the closers role, and someone will be acquired if Clement and Wells cannot be relied upon; rumor last week had Jeff Weaver coming to Boston. With Snow being DFA'd, and Texiera not performing to his abilities, perhaps a Snow for Weaver and cash trade would work.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You just need to remind your peers that those little aminals grow up into godless killing machines. I just remind them how terrible of an organization they are.

    Life Lesson:

If you are going to say how good you are, say how much better you are, say how a peer isn't in your league... I beg of you, don't just say 'be gone' and actually prove that person wrong. I think its a very important life lesson to learn because you're the one who looks like a tool if you're bragging and yet refuse to put the situation at rest. Well I've learned something today.. Thank You Soxtalk.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Liking 2 different color Sox. I'm just glad I'm not a Cubs fan. As a 12 year old, those bright colors, and that cute little bear are extremely enticing, especially when all your classmates and peers are rooting for the Cubs.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> some posters develop patterns.... in redandwhite case he is a homer.... now thats not a bad thing... im a homer too and most posters on this site are also homers. But when you come into another team's site being a homer of a team that isnt very well liked overall conflict arrises. Also there are some posters that just deserve to be picked on.... Now, what constitutes being a homer?
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 12:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean this Soxfan? Sounds like a personal remark that had no relevance in the thread at all. This is what started it. This is what was unnecessary: QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahhh, couldnt find anything negative about the trade, so you had to try and take a pot shot at the way Ozzie uses his pen? Nice work.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is no point in assuming redandwhite would defend the trade from the Red Sox stand point. He made his opinion clear, get off his f***ing back. I was applauding Kenny Williams and the White Sox for making this low risk/high reward deal. The fact that I am not an Ozzie Guillen fan, in terms of his in-game managerial skills, should be a non-factor.
  17. As a sophomore in High School at Spring Training? You got me, ha. EDIT: I never claimed to be a beast either, but I am much more knowledgable than you are on the topic.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Go away dude, you couldnt even read the thread to know who I was giving info to. Reading is fundamental. If you would ever like to compare physique's or fitness levels with me, im game. At least Ozzie cant hear his criticisms, he had two World Series rings plugging his ears. It's over and done with, but don't think I'm not going to bring that embarrassing stuff up when you call me out in a thread that needed no such doing. ...And I suppose I'm game aswell.
  19. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is Terry Francona the best then? No, Terry Francona is a real flawed manager. Case in point: this trade.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's absolutely awful. Whats awful is the false, and just downright wrong information RockRaines was giving out in the 'Ab Workouts' thread from last week.
  21. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guillen was not out of line. He may have gone a little overboard but overall I think Tracey should have hit Blalock and Guillen just acted out of frustration. This is what can happen when players retaliate and are beaned:
  22. Guillen was entirely out of line, yes. Not a single question about it. Can anyone summarize the last nine pages for me, how on earth can someone justify slash defend what Guillen did?
  23. Another panic move by Theo Epstein and the Red Sox. Great pick-up for the White Sox. The whole reason for making this deal in the first place was to add a southpaw to the bullpen, but what amazes me is that his entire career, Riske has been almost unhittable against lefties, infact he's been significantly better against left handed bats than he is against righties. For the White Sox' sake, hopefully Ozzie will use him right, and place him in the Thornton/Cotts role and use him only sparingly for full innings of work. Odds are that won't happen, afterall this is Ozzie Guillen we are talking about.
  24. I always liked Dan. Happy Birthday, brother.
  25. it was an awesome episode, but it was only like 22 minutes this time around. I hate that.
