QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 08:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey, whatever. I didn't poll the crowd to see where they were from. I just know they were cheering too much and I didn't like it. Here, New England, f*** 'em all. And I'm sick of Big Sloppy and Big Sloppy T-Shirts. You also have to realize that there were more Red Sox fans than White Sox fans on both friday and saturday, which I expected, according to Farmer and Singleton.

Entirely necessary. I didn't deserve to get suspended, had I been able to post, I would have posted in this thread earlier and it wouldn't have been brought up again.
-
Accurate outlook. Cotts, Riske, Thornton, and McCarthy have all been reliable a lot of the time, and Jenks is one of the best relievers in the game. Not a great bullpen, but a good one.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fans on SoSH are half classy and half jackasses. I used to be a Red Sox fan until last year when I went to the Cell to see the Sox vs Sox series. I heard about that goddamn "bloody sock" 50 times in half an inning, Red Sox fans would say bulls*** to every strike called against them and any ball given to us. Lots of them were jackasses who admit they didn't even watch the game of baseball. They just knew who Manny and Ortiz were. That's it. Similar ratio that we have over here. It's funny that you gauge your dislike for an entire fan base on a couple red sox fans at the US Cellular who are probably not even from out east. I'm going to go right ahead and think that White Sox fans are complete trash, afterall, I went to this game against Kansas City a few years back, and these two fans ran onto the field and beat the s*** out of Tom Gamboa. White Sox fans are all trash! :headshake QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's another thing that pisses me off about their fans. Most of them aren't even from Boston or have anything to do with the state of MA. Yea, thats frustrating as all hell. Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs. If you're a big tool and don't want to root for your home team, those three teams listed are who they claim. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I kept asking every Red Cub fan today, so what part of NE do you or your family come from. The answer is, I dont come from NE or my family isnt from NE but I am a really die hard fan from Elgin. I hate that. Thats annoying. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> f*** the Red Sox. End of story. If you wanna talk about them go to Sonsofsamhorn. I've got no tolerance for anyone in that organization. They're 10 times worse than the Yankees. You make some good points. Actually you make no points at all. As an administrator and vocal point of this website, you should be embarrassed. And, if you're going to suspend me for simply being a Red Sox fan, talk to Jason about making this site a private forum or I will.

jbravo862 or John is a great 'ticket exchanger'; I had a great time as I mentioned in private, and it was nice meeting you yesterday. Thanks man.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In which part of my post did I generalize Red Cubs fans? You said they were stupid and defensive. Well judging by last weeks performance, had I been as ignorant as you on the topic, I'd be able to label White Sox fans as toothless trailer trash with mullets who talk about the cubs being cursed by a barnyard animal. Haha. Wait a minute. Is there another Red Sox fan on here? hahahahaha

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We don't care that the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004. We won in 2005. We don't care about the Red Sox home grown talent. We have Brian Anderson, Jon Garland, Mark Buehrle, Joe Crede, etc. We don't care how well Red Sox fans travel. We care about how stupid and defensive they are when they come to OUR ballpark. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Well then i'm going to make a generalization about White Sox fans based on that asshole last week at Wrigley, or the White Sox fan without teeth, or the White Sox fan with a sleeveless shirt jorts a mullet and his ass crack showing.. Hib, said it best. End of story.

Everybody's excuse for disliking Red Sox fans has been because they have no homegrown talent, have too high of a payroll, were the defending world champs last year, etc. The Red Sox have more homegrown talent than the White Sox do. The Red Sox and White Sox are two of only a few teams with payrolls over 100 million, about a 15 million dollar difference. The White Sox won the World Series. I tend to believe you guys hate Red Sox fans because Boston fans travel so well, and half the stadium will be Red Sox fans. If Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, or any team for that matter traveled well, you'd think they were obnoxious aswell. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ouch, check out RedandWhite's avatar. I'm proud of that 2004 team. Just as you're proud of your 2005 White Sox. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> guys, painting an entire set of fans with a broad brush is insanely dumb I couldn't have said it better myself. Especially when last saturday at the Cubs/White Sox game, I was talking to 'White Sox' fans who brag about how they changed sides last year because they couldn't take being cursed by a goat. Fans of every team are idiots, fans of every team suck, not all 40,000 people in the park tommorow will be able to tell the difference between a baseball and a beach ball. It is what it is.
-
There is no more payroll excuse, no more World Series excuse, You guys are mighty bitter.
-
unreal game, i was in attendance.
-
Well that was not something I wanted to hear at 2 in the morning.. Incredible.

Words don't describe how sad this is. I can't even f***ing believe it. 52 years old!? God thats scary to think about. The latest on Walker was that he was the best coach in the big ten and that he was beginning to turn Northwestern into a perennial contender in the Big Ten. I just can't believe this, right now.
-
WHAT!? This can't be happening, somebody tell me this isn't true...

Official 2006 NBA Draft Thread
redandwhite replied to AssHatSoxFan's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Bargnani taken first overall. The Celtics trade is certainly a good one. Losing the LaFrentz contract is worth the seventh overall pick by itself, and Ratliff in return is nice. Bulls trade the pick. -

How can Aldridge possibly slip to ten!? If the Celtics pass on him, I'll be one unhappy camper. -
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok but why would we want Cora instead of Uribe. The point would be to upgrade the SS not to shed payroll. I was just throwing his name out there, considering when Cora was a free agent, he was a popular name on this board.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> umm why would we trade Uribe for a lesser player in Cora and than some prospects? And I dont care if Cora is hitting a higher avg. he would be a downgrade. Uribe is owed 4.15 million dollars next year, 4.45 million if you count the buy out. I can't imagine the White Sox upgrade at short without ridding themselves of Uribe. Perhaps a prospect isn't needed, and maybe the Red Sox would be willing to take on that cash, I just can't imagine they or anyone would for a utility infielder.
-
What about Alex Cora? Cora's name always came up as someone that Williams liked, dare I say coveted. Not that he's struggling, he's actually performing really well, but I wonder if a Cora for Uribe, prospect/cash would work.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do my eyes deceive me? Did Pappelbon blow a save today? A home run down the right field line that just hooked around the pole. Not a home run in any other park. His era doubled from a whopping .23 to .46... QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shrek with another walk off hit, unbelievable. All set up by a walk to Mark Loretta in front of him. :headshake The Youkilis double to tie it was equally as impressive as the walk. What a ballgame.

Ortiz with another walk off. It's gotten to the point where if he doesn't come through in that situation, its a shock.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> R&W, I'm not at all directing my comments to you at all. I'm moreso targeting the Reynolds Wrap wearing folk.. Got it.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Throwing at batters and admonishing a pitcher that doesn't do so ... that's baseball my friend. Perhaps, being at the Bryce Florie game years back shys me away from wanting retaliation like that.
-
No one's telling me what to think. I hate Jay Mariotti just as much as the next guy, but its an embarrassing and wrong thing to say when you're in the position Ozzie Guillen is in. You'd think he'd mature a little bit with age, and not have the same vocabulary that I and other teenagers have.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The funny thing is, when it comes to things that matter, like winning ballgames, Ozzie seems to be doing all right. You're right, it's just interesting that Kenny Williams concerns and main priority is to turn the Chicago White Sox into a first class organization, and to be a first class winning ballclub, when in turn Ozzie Guillen is ordering pitchers to throw at batters, yelling at them when they dont actually hit the batter, calling people ***gots, etc. Obviously, you can't get rid of him. That was dumb of me to even bring up, I shouldn't have made my dislike for him so clear at three in the morning, nonetheless, I think its an interesting thing to debate.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 11:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He doesn't root "equally". He's a Red Sox fan first and foremost. Correct. Thanks, Yasny. I'm a diehard Red Sox fan, who watches and goes to White Sox games, following them pretty intensely to the point where my opinions and thoughts have some basis to them. Had my parents not been divorced, and had I not moved to Chicago, I wouldn't be here right now. I bet RockRaines is kicking himself right now that he never got into counceling.
