  1. Nah I think we would look elsewhere for a replacement..maybe even give Reed a shot if that were true, but I don't think we'd be trying to deal for Carl at this point in time.
  2. While I liked Carl last season..who would he replace? Carlos? Not a chance. Harris? And take away what little speed we have for yet another power hitter? I don't think so. The only reason I could see this going down is if Maggs is on the shelf for longer than we are expecting, because Carl would be a very expensive fourth outfielder.
  3. I actually have no problem with this article, I think he's hit it on the head..but the best thing about the article is hearing that Shingo was watching the opposing batters..that's sweet. I like seeing a guy dedicated to doing his best.
  4. That sig is awesome..thank you!
  5. Why not? Not only does Jackson have the confidence and experience at being a closer, he's given up 5 more hits, 1 more ER, 1 less HR, 4 less BB, and has a .5 era higher than Marte in one more inning of work.
  6. Marte doesn't have near the experience in closing out games as Shingo does. I don't think Marte is going to do well as the closer, I really don't think he has the stuff. I would rather see Shingo or even Jackson in there to close.
  7. If you don't mind..I'd dig a sig with Big Frank, Maggs, and Konerko..along with my name somewhere.
  8. It almost makes me feel bad to read these comments from him..he really seems like he wants to get better and pitch better and just cant seem to find it..maybe he should ask to be sent down for a month or so and work on his pitches(or a new pitch), not to mention his confidence. I think Shingo could be a good closer, hell..Mike Jackson used to close for Cleveland, we could try him..but I don't think they're long term answers at all.
  9. We have to worry about EVERY pitcher we've never faced before. :puke
  10. I live in VA and get WGN here..but f*** the amount of Cubs games they play on there..I shelled out the money for the MLB Extra Innings package...well worth the cash! I get to see probably 80% of our games.. Hmm..now if only I could guarantee the 20% I didn't see was when our 5th starter is pitching.

    Koch

We were talking about it in the game chat, someone said on the Rangers broadcast they had him at 100.
  12. I heard it on TV and while I like Hawk, took it as a slap in the face as well.. what he said almost word for word was "People that have never played baseball come up and tell me they have been watching this game for 20 years and know a little something about how it's played, and I just think, you don't know a damn thing." I like to think I know a little something about baseball, and there's no doubt in my head that some people here on Sox Talk do. Maybe he didn't mean it the way it sounded, but it did come out horrible.
  13. I'm sure they do too..but IMHO, if we have nothing to gain as a team by keeping a pitcher out there, and nothing to lose by bringing someone from the bullpen, I would rather us not take the chance..we have a really good squad right now, and if one of our pitchers were to get injured, we'd be in a world of hurt..we can't even field a full rotation as it is.. I am 100% behind erring on the side of caution.
  14. Oops, no..*I* am sorry..did I say he complained? I said *if*. Sorry for the confusion.
  15. Little girls or not, it didn't HURT us to go to the bullpen, and it wouldn't have HELPED us to leave him in, so if ELo wants to complain about it, he needs to realize it's a team game.. I would much rather err on the side of caution.
  16. I had absolutely no problem in him being pulled..our bullpen guys need innings too, and it's not like Loaiza was still with a low pitch count. Everyone that wanted him to stay in must have had him on their fantasy team.. (Except whoever it was that benched him.. )
  17. I haven't seen a Cubs one for the same reason.. But I have seen Rockies, Mets, Red Sox, Indians, Royals, Twins, Devil Rays, and others. They also do the same commercials with the "You really should follow the ____" for every team, where the guy that says "I don't really follow baseball" gets jacked up somehow.
  18. It's not a White Sox commercial..it's a Fox Sports Net commercial. Because I'm not in the Chicago area, I have to watch the MLB Extra Innings sports package to catch Sox games, and it's usually using the other team's affiliate...They have those robbery commercials for every team, not just the Sox.
  19. whitesoxcentral.com is down? :puke
  20. I am..can't get the chat to work..

    Schoe

I, along with many other Sox fans..groaned upon hearing Schoe would be a starter this year..this is our official thread to eat crow. Schoe has looked damn good so far this year for a number 4 starter. Sorry for ever doubting you, Scott!
  22. Yeah it is a pretty nice park..I dig it..usually try to go to a few games out there..There's a possibility of us getting a ML franchise here, and they want to use Harbor Park(but expanded) to play there..I think it would work great.
  23. Nah, it's not..and I'll probably make my way up there for one of our games against the O's this year.. The only cool thing is that we have the Norfolk Tides here, and they play Charlotte quite a bit.
  24. I've never been to a major league game at all. Living in Virginia doesn't afford you many opportunities to do so..
