  1. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 04:42 AM) Joe Randa, Reds Of all the Reds players likely to attract attention, Randa might be the most tradeable. Not only does he have affordable $2.15 million one-year deal, but the veteran has been perhaps the most consistent all-around contributor for the Reds this season. Potential Suitors: Indians, White Sox No thanks to Randa. Crede is a human vacuum at 3B. Yes to Burnett or Schmidt. Maybe to Vizquel- (as long as he doesnt cost too much) They can have Uribe or Harris and thats it.
  2. Yes Willie Harris' speed is very valuable off the bench, but Ozuna is just as capable of coming in and reeking havoc on the base paths. He can also play 3rd, SS and 2B. Gloads bat is much more valuable off the bench than Willie's at this point. I like the move- willy just hasn't been cutting the mustard. In fact I wont be surprised if KW ships him in a package to aqcuire a starter or a reliever.
  3. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) Actually, I was at one of Mulder's recent starts down in St. Louie, and he looks downright bad, recently. Every ball is up, and there were countless trips to the pitchers mound. His last outting wasn't any better. I believe there is something wrong with his shoulder. He's giving up long ball after long ball. What do you guys think? Will Buehrle be followed by Garland, or will they throw some other douchebag in there in between the two? I think it would be awesome to have Buehrls relieved by Big John. Harold Reynold thinks its going to go this way: Buerhle first 2 innings, Colon 3rd, Santana 4th, Rogers 5th, Garland 6th, Clement 7th, Rivera and other relievers in the 8th, and Joe Nathan to close it out in the 9th. I like the idea of Colon throwing flames right after Buerhle's finess.
  4. Ryno did pick us to win the division in the beginning of the year- have to give him props for that. Who knows- maybe Ryno has psychic capabilities? Jonny Daman was intervied by a Comcast dude and he also said the Sox have what it takes to win the world series. Peter Gammons said every little leager should watch the White Sox play because thats 'How baseball should be played" Starting to get the respect around the league yikes!
  5. This is by far the best all-around Sox team of my lifetime. I can't wait to watch every single game this year- it was never like that before. My first half MVP has to be Podsednik, with Everett and Iguchi following right behind him. Without those 3 guys this season- things would probably be ugly. I hate going into the ASB with a 3 game losing streak on our hands, but what can you say those things happen during a long season- even to the best teams. I can't wait to get the 2nd half going, 4 away in Cleveland- Its time to get back to our winning ways and win 3 of 4 there. El-duque is starting on thursday right? Its time for him to go back to the pitcher he was in April and early May. He'll have 3 starts to prove to KW he can be healthy and effective- if not I expect Burnett or Schmidt to be on the Southside come the trade deadline. This is for you White Sox for making this summer kick a lot of ass!!
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) If only we had 12 BMacs', 5 Bobby Jenks', 3 Jose Contreras', 4 Damaso Marte's, and 8 Sweeney/Andersons! Gawsh darnit! I hear ya our team would be immortal.
  7. 1. If the Sox go for Burnett I can see them packaging: McCarthy, Marte and a couple of pitching prospects. 2. If the Sox go for Schmidt/Vizquel I can see them packaging: Contreras, McCarthy, Uribe, Marte and a couple of pitching prospects. If it was just for Schmidt only than it would be for McCarthy and Contreras only. 3. If the Sox go for Guardado- then I see Jenks and Adkins being shipped. 4. If the Sox go for Griffey Jr- LOL nobody wants Mr. Potato Chip Cracky Bones on our team. This isn't 1995 anymore people. 5. If the Sox go for Clemens- then Houston would want: Contreras, McCarthy, Sweeney/Anderson, and they'll prbably ask for Rowand too. And that alone will probably pull KW away from a blockbuster deal like this. 6. Saying the A's fall on there face right before th deadline and Zito goes into the market- I can see a package of McCarthy, Marte, and Jenks deal happening. These are just speculation on my part. All these crazy rumors are driving me nuts. Personally i hope we dont change any postiong players all i want is one more top of the line starter- and 1 more solid reliever. I would love #1 the best. Would do you guys think?
  8. Okay these rumors are driving me nuts. In the last week I heard we are after: 1. Schmidt 2. Vizquel 3. Burnett 4. Griffey Jr. (For Rowand? Thats the dumbest trade rumor I have heard in the history of life) Nobody wants Mr. Potato Chip Cracky Bones on our team. Quit living in the past people.
  9. Oswalt should thank us Sox fans for him making it as well. We were a HUGE reason why he made it. Today is a day to celebrate being a Sox fan. Another sweep- a gratifying day for Scotty Pods going to the ASG, a shot-out by Hawk Harrelson and DJ, and 10.5 games up in 1st place. Somebody pinch me! Are we really freaking 57-26???
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 02:55 AM) Matt Clement would get in before anyone else. His manager even said so. Good call. It was either between Clement and Colon to get in- you have to give Francona props for going with a guy from another team. I don't know how Hermanson didn't get in? Just not enough spots i guess..
  11. I think there is a good chance Kenny Rogers decides to stay home for the allstar game. If this happens it can possibly get Hermy to the allstar game.
  12. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:29 AM) Houston likes to make their move in the second half of the season. I dont see them being a seller in this market. If anything I see them trying to make a move or 2 to help their team now to make a run. Thats the problem. There are not many teams that will be sellers until the last minute this season- the NL is bunched up with pleanty of average and below average teams still alive in the wild card race. So if we do indeed pick up another stud pitcher it will be last minute. So I say lets enjoy our team as is right now until that moment happens. We have an awesome team right now- lets enjoy them. All this trade talk- will be just talk for a while now. So lets all relax on these rumors and celebrate this awesome 2005 season. (But when that trade does happen we will celebrate that- but it wont be for a while)
  13. I must have voted over 100 times 20 minutes ago. Will do another 100 after dinner- gotta get him ahead of Jeter! We have 24 hours left!
  14. This trade has a 25-75 chance of happening. We have to start hoping that Houston starts losing. Right now they are 6 games back in the wild card chase. You figure if they can go 10 back by the all-star break- Houston wouldn't hesitate to trade him. I say if Houston goes 10 back by the break- there is a 50-50 chance of the Rocket flying on over to the south-side. So we have to cheer for Houston to lose!!
  15. This kind reminds me of the Randy Johnson situation- KW was willing to do what it took to get him over the the Southside, but Randy said he didn't want to pitch here. Everyone seems to have a fascination for pitching for the Yankees and if Roger does get traded it would be to the Yankees only. Roger has a no trade clause and he would have to waive it to come here- that just wont happen. I'm with Texsox- this is probably just a side-rumor to get everyone talking so KW can swoop in then aqcuire the guy he is really shooting for.
  16. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) Maybe KW will go hard after Clemens, gauge Houston's interests in our prospects, reach a brick wall, and then "settle" for Oswalt. If Houston trades anybody it will be Clemens- not Oswalt. Oswalt is still young and dominate- Houston will keep Oswalt as they want him and Pettite to hold the rotation down for years to come.Clemens in his (probably) last season- so they will figure why not get some young talent before they lose him for nothing. BUT- in a ESPN interview about a month ago- Roger said the only team he would 'consider' being traded to is the Yankees. His feelings might change when he sees the White Sox record and realizes his career is winding down- and his really hungry for 1 more World Series title. Not to mention the Yankees don't have any young talent to offer Houston to get Clemens. I would say Clemens is a pipe dream- but with KW- you just never know?! I would settle for Schmidt though
  17. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) His asking price will lower as the deadline approches. your probably right. KW needs to play this out smart.
  18. if they want 2 mlb level starting pitchers in return forget it. They'll probably ask for Jon G and McCarthy in return. Yea right like KW would do something sooo stupid as that.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) More and more it sounds like nobody has faith in Contreras or Duque. Why should he? Contreras last 3 starts have been bad. And El-duque is spending his 2nd stint on the 15 day DL. Of course he's going to go with the 3 guys who have been reliable all season long. How about a 4th of July present for us Sox fans KW!! Contreras and prospect for Schmidt. I dont care if Schmidt isn't better than our big 3- he is at least better than our lower 2. A new surrounding and a new league will benefit Schmidt- kind of like it did for Clemens. The one thing that worries me about Schmidt is what was his relationship like with AJ last season? Its obvious SF hates A.J. and if Schmidt had something to do with it than there is no way KW makes this deal.
  20. If Uribe is involved with that deal- who is our starting SS? And then who would be our utility IF?
  21. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) Anyone just hear that jackass on the score? yeah what a jackass. it was just a plugin for his stupid website.
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Because KW's not letting anything leak from his side? very possible. could be flying under the radar. Who knows?? If we do pull a trigger- it will probably be before the ASG.
  23. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) If the flagship station for the Giants is saying this is almost a done-deal, I see no reason to listen to someone with absolutely no say in this. How come the flag-ship station in SF are in saying this is pretty much a done deal, and both of our stations aren't saying that?
  24. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) No no no, don't listen to Cowley I hope your right. He has a good point with the whole Bonds situation.
  25. As of right now- the whole Schmidt rumor has dimmed a bit. The Giants feel that they still are in the playoff hunt and Barry Bonds is expected to come back at the end of July. So unless the Giants extremely falter within the next 2 weeks- this trade wont happen
