  1. This game means more to the Cubs then it does to us. The Cubs need every game possible to stay in the WC chase this season. We are still 10.5 games in front of the Twins. No need to worry or freak out if we lose. It seems like every year we either win the season series 4-2 or lose 4-2. I like the chances of us winning today. I'm sure Ozzie will put out his best lineup today. Rowand has been a bit cold so I can see a lineup that consist of this today: Pods CF Gooch 2B Thomas DH Konerko 1B Everett LF Dye RF Pierzynski C Crede 3B Ozuna/Uribe SS
  2. What an awesome team! Its always nice to beat the Cubs- but to beat them like that is really satisfying. Lets hope this offense continues this tommorow vs Maddux. We have pounded Maddux before and I expect the same tommorow. Contreras needs to hold em like he did at Wrigley. Here is to first to 10, 20, 30, 40, now 50!!
  3. I think if we give Freddy run support early- we will be in great shape today. Freddy works awesome with a nice cushion. He also needs to avoid that big first inning that has been haunting him the last few outtings. Other than that he has been pretty damn good. We should be able to get to Mitre early and often today! :fthecubs
  4. KW is just looking at options just in case El-duque doesn't return strong by July 31st. Ted Lilly is the first name we have heard that has been confirmed KW has been looking at. I'm guessing we will here many more names within the next few weeks. Or maybe we won't here any names (FLYING UNDER THE RADAR- Like he did when we aquired Freddy Garcia last season.) Hmm this was the time last season when we aqcuired Freddy- just ended a series at home vs the Cubs. Can we see another acquisition happening in 2005 after the Cubs series at home? Or will KW wait until the deadline like he did when he acquired Jose Contreras from NY? Should be interesting. All I know is we need 1 more reliever and 1 more starter that can possibly go to the bulpen if El-duque comes back. BMac needs some triple-A experience. I wouldn't tamper with our position players- they are all playing well right now- even Crede!!
  5. I'm not sure about 116 wins- but 100 wins is very well possible. When was the last time the White Sox won 100 wins in a season?
  6. Hell yeah!! The perfect time to go on a winning streak- is when Minnesota goes on a losing streak. Gotta keep pressing!! No time to get comfortable out there. Now lets stick it to the Cubs. (at least win 2 of 3) This is a special special season!
  7. 7 in a row! 2nd straight sweep! Buerhle 26+ shutout innings! Buerhle goes 9-1! Sox are 49-22! Sox are 25-5 against the central division! And are 9-0 vs the Royals! Now lets take 2 of 3 from those sCrUBS.
  8. QUOTE(shakes @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) 25 consecutive scoreless innings for MB. I probably just out a DJ jinx on him. good work!
  9. I'm hearing and seeing all these rumors and here is my imput on them: Roger Clemens will be traded- But probably to Texas or back to the Yankees. Barry Zito isn't going anywhere either- Beane said himself. Roy Oswalt- I just don't see the Astros trading him (pending on his contract status?) He is still young and is arguably the best pitcher in the NL. If the Astros do trade him- they would want more than prospects in return- and there is talk that they would ask for Aaron Rowand to be part of that package. I don't see KW making a move like that. Andy Pettite- I expect him to be traded to Baltamore. Jason Schmidt- This is a guy I can see KW going out and getting if El-duque continues with his arm problems. (anyone know his contract status?) Kip Wells- Another possible move KW can make. He would come cheap and has had alot of starts for Pittsburgh- he has proven to be a decent starter, would fit in just fine as our #5. If El-duque comes back healthy- I see KW adding 1 or 2 arms for the pen and thats it.
  10. I was at the game tonite as well- and another fun win. Jon G= leading the league in wins. I'm happy Ozzie is moving him up a day and having him start vs the Cubs on Sunday. Jon Garland with 12 wins in June- am I dreaming? I love this team!!!
  11. If BMac pans out- then I say put El-duque in the pen (should help his shoulder with limited innings) and release Shingo. If BMac struggles some more- I say give El-duque one more chance- if that fails- Then KW should start thinking about trading for another starter. Because God only knows- we don't want to go back to the 5th starter black-hole.
  12. unless KW is flying under the radar I can't see Crede going anywhere. Ozzie has called him the Garland of 2004 and he expects him to be the Garland of 2005 next season. He always praises his defense as well. The only move i see happening is getting another arm or 2. We can possibly get a solid reliever as well as a solid spot starter- just in case El-duque's arm is seriously injured and BMac doesn't pan out.
  13. Ozzie hasn't tampered with the rotation order yet this season and I don't expect him to do so. So expect Garcia, Contreras and BMAC once again vs the Cubs.
  14. Lets make it 5 in a row! If we can get to Lima early and give BMAC some comfort room- we should be in good shape. Could be another historic night at the USCF if Brandon can earn is first MLB victory- watch out Brandon- if you win, expect to go home smelling like Beer. :uhoh
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 04:02 AM) I missed todays game (f***ing work) though I did tivo it. What makes up for it is that I was at that game in 2003, I'll never forget it. Konerko was struggling so bad at the time. It was crazy Carl and Robbie's first games as White Sox as well. Koch pitched the 11th and the 12th. He gave up the go ahead run in the top of the 11th. Then in the bottom of the 11th Konerko (who was horrible at the time) pinch hit for Daubach, the crowd was chanting Paulee, Paulee. He then proceeded to hit a bomb to left center. The crowd went absolutely ape s***. Koch worked a good top of the 12th not surendering a run. Then in the bottom of the 12 Robbie Alomar came up and just missed a HR down the left field line, just foul, he tehn walked. Frank Thomas came to the plate after I believe Tony G. made an out. Frank hit an absolute bomb to left field, the f***ing ball was a mile in the air. The crowd (which I think was around 20,000) was louder than I have ever heard a crowd. By far the best game I have ever attended. I was also at that game. And boy was it a memorable one. Remember my fellow fans- it pays to stay for the WHOLE game- about half the crowd left when Koch gave up the run in the 9th, but sure enough they tied it- and won in Extra innings. That was by far Frank's biggest homer of his career. Hopefully we will see a bigger home run this year. Two games prior to that I was at the Cubs Sox game when Jose Valentin hit that walk off homerun to win it. Attending two straight walk-off homerun games was sweet as hell. And this year I went to two straight games when they won on the winning hit. 5/30 vs LAA on Timos winning hit & 5/31 vs LAA on Dye's walk off homer. I've gone to many memorable games in my life- but this year just feels very special- everything just seems to be fitting into place. Watching last nites game on tv gave me goosebumps- just when i thought the game was over- Carl comes up big, Aaron comes up bigger, and A.J. comes up HUGE! 2005 White Sox = The Sweetest thing!
  16. Great post Jim. Carl has came up with countless big hits this year. Without him I don't want to think about how our team would be. With Frank missing the first 2+ months of the season and have Borchard or Perez as our DH would have been a complete DISASTER. IMO Carl is tied with Pods as the 2005 White Sox MVP so far. Hey Carl you da man!! ---->
  17. The Twins lost. Now its time to gain more ground. We need a big game out of Jose tonite- He is due! Hopefully A.J. will catch Jose tonite and Widger catches El-duque tommorow nite. Lets sweep 'em, but most importantly lets win 4 in a row! I'm going to the game tonite- but i'm not going to bring my broom. Everytime I have done that over the years- we ended up losing.
  18. Okay the Score just confirmed that Frank will be the DH tonite, Carl will be out in RF, Dye has the night off. Everything else will probably be the normal starters.
  19. Any word on tonites startiing lineups yet? I wonder if Frank will play a 3rd straight game?
  20. I wonder who will start on Friday- Everett or Thomas? With the way Thomas, Dye, Rowand, Everett and Podsednick are swinging th bat- now I know how Ozzie can get constant head-aches while making his lineup cards.
  21. If they score at least 4 runs each game- I don't see how we can't win this series? The offense owes Buerhle many runs on Friday, Garcia needs at least 4 runs, and on Sunday Contreras will rebound from his terrible start and the Sox should pound Weaver as they have done many times in the past. ITS '59 World Series REVENGE TIME BABY!
  22. does anybody pay for that ESPN INside thing? THey have a trade rumor section that I was curious to what is says. They have Ken Griffey on the front of it on the MLB section of ESPN.com. Someone let me know what those ESPN people think?
  23. hell yeah!!! Juan Uribe YES! Big Hurt YES! Pauly YES! Dye YES! And best of all thank you old friend Royce for keeping the momentum going not once- but twice! Royce Clayton YES!
  24. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) I would rather have cotts and politte with cruddy. The no politte and cotts but with mueller. Plus crede is younger the mueller. I know i hate crede, but I woudnt trade him unless there is a sevre improvment. Im more worried about a reliver then a 3rd baseman right now. I agree. We have been winning all season because of pitching, why thin out the pitching just to add a little bit more offense? Unless we can really improve our team I wouldn't mess with something that works to mildly improve an area. You have to becareful when trading- because sometimes when you improve an area- you just create more holes in another area.
