  1. Lets make it 5 in a row! If we can get to Lima early and give BMAC some comfort room- we should be in good shape. Could be another historic night at the USCF if Brandon can earn is first MLB victory- watch out Brandon- if you win, expect to go home smelling like Beer. :uhoh
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 04:02 AM) I missed todays game (f***ing work) though I did tivo it. What makes up for it is that I was at that game in 2003, I'll never forget it. Konerko was struggling so bad at the time. It was crazy Carl and Robbie's first games as White Sox as well. Koch pitched the 11th and the 12th. He gave up the go ahead run in the top of the 11th. Then in the bottom of the 11th Konerko (who was horrible at the time) pinch hit for Daubach, the crowd was chanting Paulee, Paulee. He then proceeded to hit a bomb to left center. The crowd went absolutely ape s***. Koch worked a good top of the 12th not surendering a run. Then in the bottom of the 12 Robbie Alomar came up and just missed a HR down the left field line, just foul, he tehn walked. Frank Thomas came to the plate after I believe Tony G. made an out. Frank hit an absolute bomb to left field, the f***ing ball was a mile in the air. The crowd (which I think was around 20,000) was louder than I have ever heard a crowd. By far the best game I have ever attended. I was also at that game. And boy was it a memorable one. Remember my fellow fans- it pays to stay for the WHOLE game- about half the crowd left when Koch gave up the run in the 9th, but sure enough they tied it- and won in Extra innings. That was by far Frank's biggest homer of his career. Hopefully we will see a bigger home run this year. Two games prior to that I was at the Cubs Sox game when Jose Valentin hit that walk off homerun to win it. Attending two straight walk-off homerun games was sweet as hell. And this year I went to two straight games when they won on the winning hit. 5/30 vs LAA on Timos winning hit & 5/31 vs LAA on Dye's walk off homer. I've gone to many memorable games in my life- but this year just feels very special- everything just seems to be fitting into place. Watching last nites game on tv gave me goosebumps- just when i thought the game was over- Carl comes up big, Aaron comes up bigger, and A.J. comes up HUGE! 2005 White Sox = The Sweetest thing!
  3. Great post Jim. Carl has came up with countless big hits this year. Without him I don't want to think about how our team would be. With Frank missing the first 2+ months of the season and have Borchard or Perez as our DH would have been a complete DISASTER. IMO Carl is tied with Pods as the 2005 White Sox MVP so far. Hey Carl you da man!! ---->
  4. The Twins lost. Now its time to gain more ground. We need a big game out of Jose tonite- He is due! Hopefully A.J. will catch Jose tonite and Widger catches El-duque tommorow nite. Lets sweep 'em, but most importantly lets win 4 in a row! I'm going to the game tonite- but i'm not going to bring my broom. Everytime I have done that over the years- we ended up losing.
  5. Okay the Score just confirmed that Frank will be the DH tonite, Carl will be out in RF, Dye has the night off. Everything else will probably be the normal starters.
  6. Any word on tonites startiing lineups yet? I wonder if Frank will play a 3rd straight game?
  7. I wonder who will start on Friday- Everett or Thomas? With the way Thomas, Dye, Rowand, Everett and Podsednick are swinging th bat- now I know how Ozzie can get constant head-aches while making his lineup cards.
  8. If they score at least 4 runs each game- I don't see how we can't win this series? The offense owes Buerhle many runs on Friday, Garcia needs at least 4 runs, and on Sunday Contreras will rebound from his terrible start and the Sox should pound Weaver as they have done many times in the past. ITS '59 World Series REVENGE TIME BABY!
  9. does anybody pay for that ESPN INside thing? THey have a trade rumor section that I was curious to what is says. They have Ken Griffey on the front of it on the MLB section of ESPN.com. Someone let me know what those ESPN people think?
  10. hell yeah!!! Juan Uribe YES! Big Hurt YES! Pauly YES! Dye YES! And best of all thank you old friend Royce for keeping the momentum going not once- but twice! Royce Clayton YES!
  11. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) I would rather have cotts and politte with cruddy. The no politte and cotts but with mueller. Plus crede is younger the mueller. I know i hate crede, but I woudnt trade him unless there is a sevre improvment. Im more worried about a reliver then a 3rd baseman right now. I agree. We have been winning all season because of pitching, why thin out the pitching just to add a little bit more offense? Unless we can really improve our team I wouldn't mess with something that works to mildly improve an area. You have to becareful when trading- because sometimes when you improve an area- you just create more holes in another area.
  12. If its Mueller or not- I see KW making trades extremely soon. Probably when we least expect it. (Oh yes KW is flying under the radar once again!)
  13. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 04:40 AM) I have been preaching this for over a month now on another White Sox message board, and today an article was written by Eric Wilbur preaching the same thing: So once again, Bill Mueller will be traded to the White Sox. I read on an ESPN article awhile ago that the BOSox want Shea Hillanbrand back. So trading Mueller makes sense for the Red Sox as they need bullpen help badly and they obviously need to trade someone and the White Sox desperately need a new 3B. I can see KW attempting to trade either Shingo or Vizciano to them to go along w/ a prospect. You notice that Ozzie is trying to get Vizciano as many innings as he can to help lower his ERA? Possibly to help raise his trade value? And as far as Shingo is concerned- do you notice he is not on the new White Sox banner on WhiteSox.com? This trades makes sense from a lot of point of views, BUT- what happens to Crede? Can he possibly be dealt to the Mariners for Eddy Guardado? I know they have Beltre- but Beltre is capable of being a DH because Crede is a much better fielder. So many things to think about...................
  14. 2 ugly loses in a row :puke well lets just hope Jon G can salvage a win for us tommorow. We definitley don't want to get swept at home any time!
  15. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) this game is over The bullpen has to hold em to 6- thats all. We have 4 innings to score 4 runs for the win. I'm not giving up yet. Its kind of crazy- when Contreras sucks- El-duque sucks, when Contreras pitches well- El-duque pitches well. Are they attached to the hip?
  16. I like this trade idea. But only if Crede is the one that gets shafted. Move Uribe to 3rd (he has a cannon for an arm) and play Omar at SS. Uribe has been heating it up offenseively and his defensive skills are above average, Crede on the other hand will hit a home run every once in awhile- but in between there are waaaayyy too many pop-outs and strike outs. KW did really want Omar in the offseason- but as you guys said before his contract is rediculous and I highly doubt the Giants would eat it up if they ended up trading him here. Not to mention KW probably felt dis-respected when Omar who almost was a garunteed sign for us decided to to go play for the Giants last minute. So the chances of a trade like this happening is 50-50.
  17. Say NO to Griffey. That move would just make no sense. At least for this season. I would love to see him as our DH possibly in 2006, if KW doesnt re-sign Everett or Thomas back. But this year there just isn't room for him. Our outfield is awesome. Pods-Arow will be out there for years to come and Dye is hitting the ball now. And when Dye's contract expires after the 2006 season (or 2007 season?) I expect Sweeney or Anderson to take over in RF. But as far as moves for this season are concerned: we need one more reliever (EDDY EDDY EDDY!!) And an a possible upgrade at 3B. Things are just fine w/ Crede as of now (only because of his defense) but if KW can upgrade there- this team would instantly become WS contenders if not already.
  18. Hopefully yesterday they were just tired due to the flight from San Diego and hopefully Contreras got his 1 bad game out of him this year. I expect each starter to have at least 1 or 2 of those this year. And when I mean bad game I mean give up 6 runs or more. I see the Sox playing small today vs Vazquez for the win. We need El-duque to hold em to at least 3 today. Any ideas on the line up yet? I can see this: 1. Pods LF 2. Gooch 2B 3. A-Row CF 4. Pauly 1B 5. Crazy Carl DH 6. Dye RF 7. A.J. C 8. Crede 3B 9. Uribe SS No surprises. Frank will probably miss a game or 2.
  19. Everett is awesome. KW better not trade him. In fact I say KW shouldn't trade Frank or Carl. What a nice win. This win feels much better than a normal win because of what happened last nite. Its nice to see almost everybody contribute. And what can you say about Pollite- this guy is the most under rated guy that we have in out pen. Now lets rip it up on this 12 game homestand.
  20. I'd like to have a solid 6 to 7 game cushion come August 15th, because then is where we play the Twins 13 times till the end of the season. Anything can happen in those games, and if we only had a 3 game lead going into the final 13 games with the Twins I would be a little worried, because the end of the season is when the Twins really heat it up. I understand where you come from NUKE- its nice to stay competitive all year long but its also nice to be comfortable and watch the Twins sweat come september for once. And oh yeah- in 2000 we backed into the playoffs- TRUE. But we also had NO pitching- it didn't surprise me that we were swept. Plus Ozzie is a much better manager than Manuel will ever be- he won't let them back into the playoffs. And he will most definitley wont let his players get too comfortable- even with a big cushion.
  21. I know this sounds wierd, but I would rather have KW go after 2 solid players that would blend in with the team chemistry, rather than go after a mega-superstar like A-Rod. New York wouldn't even think of trading A-Rod this year anyways- even if they do have a down year. If anything New York will just try to unload the starting pitchers like Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson, Jarrod Wright exe....
  22. The White Sox have a very solid core of starting pitching. With that said how would you react to starting your major league career in the bulpen? It has worked great for Mark Buerhle and now for Neal Cotts and I think it can do wonders to start your MLB career off.
  23. I think Carl's problem is he is focusing too much on power from the left side- that is why is average is down. On the right side- he is more of a contact hitter- that is why his average is up. If Carl shortens his swing from the left side every once in awhile- we will see his average rise up quickly.
  24. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) I think we have like 20 games in Sept. against either KC, Detroit or Cleve.....yeah they really got it in for us. :headshake We have to remember the critics picked us to finish 4th in the division. So maybe they thought Cleveland and Detroit would be a way to stick it to us? Who knows- maybe this is just a way for Carl to pump up his team. They say is a great leader in the clubhouse.
