QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) I'd like to think this all depends on who is in line to win the lottery with the most ping pong balls. Of course, there are no guarentees, but I dont see anyone excited to jump to play for Atlanta or some s*** team like that. Oden on Atlanta can make them a pretty solid team actually, and a young team that would be around for a long time. -
Chris Stewart Traded to Texas for RHP John Lujan
GoodAsGould replied to CanOfCorn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
good trade, Stewart had very little upside... and he didnt even catch Haeger in Charlotte so its not like you could use that excuse to keep him. If one of Hall or Pierynski goes down we can always bring back Alomar -

I thought he was a scout for a baseball team now, i want to say the yankees but i can be 100% wrong on all of that. -
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) I had the biggest crush on the pink ranger from the Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger series growing up. Of course, I think any kid who watched the show did. Im pretty sure after the show she did some porn stuff, lol im sure if you yahoo it you can find stuff.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 06:16 AM) I like Justin Cassel. He didn't get a shot as a starter until later in the season, but did very well at Great Falls and got a shot at Winston-Salem before the year was out. Give him a full season as a starter and watch him develop a ton this year. I also like Maurice Gartrell, but I don't know much about him. Kind of just a hunch. I was just about to say the same, I think he has a lot of potential and will become a real prospect after this upcoming season is over.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) Aw, poor little Sony. Any reports on how much they are making per game cartridge? I didn't think so. Consoles in generals make most of their profits in games, so id assume they are making a fairly decent profit off of each 1.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 05:41 AM) I feel more sorry for those who don't 'get' what Slither was trying to do...I watched it with six people, three liked it, and three found it dumb. It's enjoyable because its ridiculous. The plot sucks, the special effects are meh, the gore is over the top, the cast is horrible...but the movie works. Unless they were trying to make a bad movie, it was a complete failure. All you could do during the movie is say it just gets worse and worse, I can understand the concept they were trying to make it super ridiculous on purpose but they just went 2 far on that department for it 2 be enjoyable.

QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 05:09 AM) Small minded huh? Read the Koran and see what it says about the treatment of women and what should be done with those who do not follow the prophet Mohammed. If you're going to make stupid comments like that I suggest you have your ducks in a row first. My dad is Muslim and I have read the Koran, I'm not a Muslim myself because I just don't care much for religion but you really have no idea what your talking about....

QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 2, 2007 -> 04:13 AM) They really act like its a holy month or day or whatever when they blow people up, gun them down and leave dozens of beaten and bullet riddled bodies laying around. Religon of peace............... I cant believe someone would say all that..... small minded...

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jan 7, 2007 -> 08:03 PM) I give it a Thumbs Up as well. Good movie to watch once, probably not so good to rent. But overall I enjoyed the story and it kept me interested throughout. Other new movie I recently saw was Blood Diamond. It was exactly what I thought it was...and somehow I actually bought DiCaprio as an african diamond smuggler. Solid movie, nothing groundbreaking Last movie I recommend is Slither. Totally funny, ridiculous movie. Now I cant take your advice on the other 2 movies anymore. For someone to enjoy Slither lol....

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 7, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) I would agree, don't expect a drop for a while. I've seen numerous reports of Sony losing $200-$300 per unit sold even at the current price, so until the price of the components come down a bit it's not too likely to drop. Look at the 360 for example, they were losing about the same as Sony per console, a little less.... and their systems still havent gone down. So yeah id agree with the statement it wont go down for a long time.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 6, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) Not ALL others, just most. Just like I'm not smarter than everybody else, just most people. There are certainly people that are as great as me, and a few of them have posted in this very thread. ...........

I dont mind them every so often, but they do get old fast..... and they are way 2 opiniated once their minds have been made up it wont change. Once a month for them is good enough for me.

i kind of liked Timo

Idonno if he qualifies as a sleeper but im really looking forward to seeing what Lucas Harrel can bring to the table in double A this season. Ive seen him pitch once and I really like him as a prospect so hoping he can have a great season. Also 2 guys ill definitely be watching are Carter and Gomes.

QUOTE(PAUL KONERKO 14 @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) This deal may help us more in the long run, Danks was their top pitching prospect and Masset was nice to get. But I really think Haeger should get the last spot in the rotation. Id say Hurley was their top pitching prospect, and they also have a guy in the lower level's who probably has more potential in Kiker.

Official 2006-2007 NBA Discussion Thread

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) Have you seen the Suns without Nash? They're awful. He makes that whole team go. Arenas does one thing real well: Score. He's a poor man's Iverson. And the stats argument is weak. Kobe and Lebron both averaged way more points and rebounds last year. Did that mean anything? Nash is shooting OVER 50% from the field AND from 3. Just think about that for a second. That's unheard of. He's damn near 90% from the line. Up over 20 PPG. Makes EVERYBODY around him a better player. Can you honestly say that about a shoot-happy chucker like Arenas? That's not even getting into the difference in the two conferences. The Suns would win 'atleast' 65 games in the pathetic east. The Wiz wouldn't crack .500 in the west. That actually doesn't say a thing. Ok I just said earlier that stats arent everything but they do matter when two guys are in a close race. And no way in hell can you argue whose more important to his team. The Suns arent an elite team without Nash but probably still a playoff team in a tough west conference. The Wizards are in the lottery without Arenas. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) Huh? If it were all about stats, Nash wouldn't have the two he has. Fact is Nash is having his best season yet. If the Suns win 55-60 games, he has a good chance to get it again. Arenas also is much more important to his team than Nash is to his. And stats do factor in the decision they just arent the end all of it. -

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 12:28 AM) AIDS claims a lot of lives, gay and straight. Doesn't really pertain to the discussion though. When it first came to America though, it was much more rampant among the gay community than the straight. And there is no denying that.....

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jan 4, 2007 -> 06:35 AM) I said a few weeks ago that Illinois would not make the tourney. The piss poor recruiting is catching up. Self's boys are gone. im not going that far, but they arent going anywhere in the tourney would be accurate. -

Im off the Illini bandwagon, I dont think Weber can get the recruits to be serious contenders and since Ive decided to go to Depaul after another year of community college, its time to root for them
