Twins are going to have to spend some money if they want to compete next season now... Radke and Liriano both out of the rotation are 2 big holes to fill.

Why all the Tate hate? Im not even a real fan of Iowa but Drew Tate has been one of my favorite QB's to watch in the short span ive been watching college football. I know he has no real future in the NFL.... but I think he is a pretty damn good QB. -

We can expect 2 more games like this from Duhon for the reg. season... he always does that kind of thing. -
Duh: Buehrle, Dye, Iguchi will be back

I dont think Jesus/God is going to be the reason a major league baseball player is able to pitch another season or not. And im not being an ass, Im a religous person. -
If we could land one of those pitching prospects besides Diamond who i dont think much of and Young Ill be very happy. Danks has always struggled at first and than dominated each lvl he has been at and I think is going to be awesome. Hurley and Volquez both have great stuff too and can be aces.

no i dont

Im pretty sure if you put Kyle Orton as the QB we arent undefeated this season... and our defense is good enough that Rex doesnt have to win the game this season just keep the defenses honest. More than manage the game but not win the game.
-
Rex did lead us down the field for that game winning TD. I know he was basicly the reason we were down too but still... when he had to score at the end he did.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) As much as you can argue Grossman, the Bears are tied with an ordinary Minnesota team for first place right now if the defense hadn't bailed out Rex in 2 road games. EDIT: That would mean Minny would only have 1 loss, so the Bears would be a game back. But why not count the defense? I mean Minny's defense is the reason they are 4-2 as well.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) So yeah, if you haven't figured it out yet, Roethlisberger isn't a good QB. Pretty awesome feat about to happen this year. From Super Bowl to 1st pick in the draft. Atleast Brady Quinn will be available. That or see how much Jacksonville wants for Leftwich. lol you guys arent getting a new QB
-
I think he will resign with us if we give him money..... at the end of his career I can see him trying to play 1-2 more seasons just to go home and play for the Cards.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Right now the Royals have a ton of bright spots on offense. Shealy, Sweeney, Teahen, Dejesus, and a few others I'm forgetting. Their problem is their pitching staff...they look to have assembled some real talent on offense, and that may well cost us some wins next year. I wouldnt call Sweeney a bright spot anymore... but they also have 2 top hitting prospects in Alex Gordon and Billy Butler who prob could come up and contribute right away.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) How would you know I thought you were dead? lol dont quit your dayjob

Have you guys forgotten the Cardinals won only like 82-83 regular season games? If they were in the AL they wouldnt of been close to the playoffs

QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) Who says Anderson found his stroke? He gave me a stroke watching him take feeble swings at the ball and hit blistering pop ups. He seemed to have a lot of line drive outs to me...

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) Ozzie is very consistent. He doesn't learn from his mistakes; he repeats them. thats not even true at all
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 04:53 AM) Coaches and Presidents receive too much blame and credit. I think thats true when we judge Ozzie Guillen... but in the case with Joey Cora not so much so. The runner is instructed to do as the 3B coach tells him too... so Konerko/Thome running to home when they have only a prayer to make it is directly Cora's fault. Since Cora was actually on the field its easier to judge his performance than a manager or a pitching/hitting coach.

Mets looking to deal Milledge/Heilman?
GoodAsGould replied to WhiteSoxfan1986's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Im sure everyone would want Pelfrey over Milledge, but where has it been said the Mets will deal him? Even with Brian Anderson, Milledge, and 06 version of Uribe in our lineup we would probably still be able to produce more runs than the 05 team. Plus maybe we dont even keep Uribe.... Id be perfectly happy with an OF going into the 07 year with Milledge, Anderson, and Dye.... hopefully if we do there is a change at SS but im fully expecting big years from Vazquez, Garland, and Buehrle next season. And if Contreras can stay healthy and all maybe him too. -
Why does ESPN Classic suck so bad?
GoodAsGould replied to WhiteSoxfan1986's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
All I ever see on it is those countdown shows with the annoying black guy singing on the microphone... like top25 best games ever or crap like that. -
It seems already with Juice Williams we are paying off with Zook and his recruits... give it some time and than maybe we can start winning some games. And than when you win some games more recruits come, Im not saying Illini will ever become a powerhouse, but with Zook and his ability to recruit.... it could be the right step.
-
If a team pays the 25 million or whatevr it takes to negotiate with him, if a deal doesnt happen do they get that money back or is it gone for good? Also my friend is telling me the Rangers are one of the favorites to land him?

QUOTE(ptatc @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) I agree. Everytime someone is thrown out at home it's his fault. Everytime the runner is safe the runner was aggressive and did well. It's a no win job. It's like being an offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals. I dont mind being aggresive with guys like Podsenick where there is going to be a play at the plate. Its when he sends Konerko in the same situation and he is out by 10 feet that is ridiculous.
-
From everything I read he is no longer a "butcher" at the hot corner, but certainly isnt near the fielder Crede is either. But I havent actually watched him besides in the majors so im sure someone that lives by charlotte or one of you minorleague nuts know more.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 07:30 PM) I would take prior over Vaz. Prior is supposedly going to be hurt going into next season as well, I know a lot of his injuries werent really his fault unlike Wood... but its still starting to get ridiculous.

QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 06:29 PM) aesthetically it looked like it has some good ideas. It looks fragile though, i think it could be overdone/ the acting doesn't look great. Ilove sparta stories though so i'll go How do you get the acting doesnt look great from a trailer? Or is it because there are no real big names in the movie?
