  1. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) lets get to the playoffs before we worry about anything else Why? We cant answer someones question pertaining to our roster if we make it?
  2. if its true you think they could find her a "guy friend" that isnt so damn ugly.
  3. Im still glad he had the season he had in AAA maybe gives him a chance to revive his majorleague career. Not 2 mention it was great having a veteran on your AAA starting pitching staff showing the young guys the ropes and professionalism etc...
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) Ironic isn't it? lol well you expect it to a degree... but this
  5. QUOTE(shoota @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) Wells explained this in his book, stating the effectiveness of the cortisone shot diminishes as shots increase. It got to one point for him where he became virtually immune to it, not feeling the relief he got from every other shot. I don't know how long each shot lasts, that's something I'm curious to know too, because I want to know how many Contreras will need to get through October. What are you talking about... this is all speculation on your part and you make it seem like your 100% sure its true... some things on message boards are just flatout ridiculous.
  6. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:51 PM) Morneau has 7 errors this year in 1211 chances (.994) Dye has 5 errors in 275 chances (.982) Jeter has 12 errors in 521 chances (.977) I know errors is a stat left up to the scorekeeper, but maybe you are shortchanging him on defense a bit Morneau is no gold glover, but it is no error machine either If you go by fielding percent you have to compare the player to others of his position. And of 1B with enough games to count Morneau is in the bottom half of the league in fielding % while Jeter/Dye are more close to middle of the pack.
  7. QUOTE(danman31 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) Bingo! People need to realize that he was not a dominant minor league player ever. He's hovered around .300 everywhere he went. Age is one thing but if that's the excuse then he isn't ready now. Sweeney next year will likely be about the same as Anderson this year. I know most people aren't satisfied with Brian's production despite improvements. No people need to realize that Sweeney's swing is much better than Anderson's was when he first came up and is still after Anderson's adjustment. And he will hit much better than what Anderson's avg. is over his first season but just wont supply a lot of pop. Im not saying .300 im saying .260 plus.
  8. personally im also not against trading 2 of our SP's this offseason and giving the last 2 spots to B-Mac and a competition of Haeger/Broadway for the 5th spot. The loser of those 2 would of course go to triple A and become our 6th starter. Than Tracey could probably take B-Macs role in the bullpen and if we wanted Logan could take Cotts role.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 04:47 AM) Once Reyes puts up a .910 OPS out of the leadoff spot come and talk to me. Sizemore is just an amazing talent, a .378 OBP, above average speed, nice pop (25+ HR), .300 hitter with stellar defense in CF? Yeesh. Yeah but those numbers are more typical of a guy you would want in the 3 hole not leading off. Reyes is more of an ideal leadoff hitter.
  10. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) Haven't seen it in slow motion yet, but it look like the last hitter was safe. Am I wrong here? I guess in replays he was indeed out by a half step but yeah looks like beat it.
  11. soxhawk what are you talking about? He wont hit for power but he should hit for an acceptable avg.
  12. QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) yea im sure you guys did the same thing with anderson's season debut this year too... your a very charming fellow
  13. I think about 90% of you way over-reacted to this article... possibly because people are already pissed off with us losing and falling behind the Twins in the wildcard. I think one of the main things that angered Ozzie was Anderson originally not wanting to play winterball. Plus we all know how much KW loves Brian Anderson and I think whether Ozzie likes it or not Brian will be our starting CF next season anyways. Plus I dont see anywhere where he says he wants Anderson to be "faster" just wants him to utilize his speed more on the basepaths. Im not a huge Ozzie fan but most of you need to relax and not over-react over an article. Also not related to thread but should be fun to follow with Anderson, Sweeney, Fields, Logan and Haeger all together.
  14. Shelby started off slow but really come on as of late. I hope to see him in High A to begin the season next year.
  15. What kind of stuff does he have though? What does his fastball hit normally?
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) They are way too professionally done and edited to be done by a 16 year old girl and her 'editor' I believe I read somewhere that the lighting is way too perfectly set up, even in the first video, to be just another video blog. And she looks way older than 16. The part that screamed fake to me was when the other kid made a video talking about how loony her family/religion was. Also Idonno if she is 16 but she looks under 21 for sure to me.
  17. QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 01:39 AM) I'm all for dumping Pods, but the Sox should go with Gload in LF for the rest of the year, and consider hitting him second and moving Iguchi up to lead off. Gload is going to hit .300+ and walk a little. Plus, he never strikes out, and can bunt. I'll take him over an untested Sweeney as a hitter for the next couple of years at least. Then I would sub Mack for defensive purposes whenever we have the lead. Next couple of years you would rather have gload in LF over Sweeney or take him as a better hitter?
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 01:13 AM) That Little Leaguer is back swinging for Anderson again. ... the 2nd strike was questionable and the curve was pretty nasty to finish him off.
  19. I just viewed all of them and idonno... sometimes it seems pretty fake but than sometimes not. Really curious about the whole religion crap though. Also where is the video Daniel posted about her dad and saying how messed up her religion was. nm i scrolled down some.
  20. I have enough trouble as it is getting worked up for the world cup... mls is like watching hockey to me.
  21. TCU looked really bad until that freshmen came in. It seems athletic black QB's are becoming more and more popular in college. I probably should leave out the black part but 9 out of 10 of them are...
  22. wow... I didnt even realize that Stingrays were that deadly. I always thought at some point of his life one of them crocodiles would be the end of him not a stingray...
  23. Im pretty sure he started a game that eventually got rained out... so thats ur reason.
  24. Is it possible for the yanks to just forfeit if they know they will only get 1 inning and its pouring out?
