It's 91 - 0 now! The only person that would vote no would be Kenny. The day the statue is revealed, Kenny better not be around or Frank would rip the statue from the base and chase him with it!

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 12:41 AM) I thought the substitute PA announcer was the best they have had. The PA Announcer was horrible I thought. He spoke too softly with the Twin players (He didn't even announce Morneau in his 2nd AB) and had bad timing throughout the game. Granted, Tom Shaer blows but this guy was even worse. Couldn't sample the food, loaded up on too many brats and too many beers in the lot but my friends said the brisket and Comiskey Dogs were damn good! All in all, a fantastic day and the fav moment was the crowd chanting CREDE! CREDE! for the curtain call!

Gavin "Pretty Boy" Floyd vs. D-Train, Going for three!

Jacque Jones and Brandon friggin' Inge are killing Gavin today. Now I know how the Indians felt when Cred/Uribe beat them Thurs. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 06:46 PM) f***ing-a. More RISP failure. Not happy with the AB's by AJ and CQ there. C'mon people, show some patience! Guys don't hit 1.000 every game.

You gotta love the way Thome, Paul and Dye have been stretching counts on pitchers. It may not be paying off completely now but if they keep this approach when it warms up, they're gonna score a bunch of runs later on. And there's Dye with a double on a 2 - 1 count!

Kenny has to read up on his Art of War: "Those who anger you, own you." He keeps sniping like he does, it's not hard for a rival GM to throw something out there to tweak him into a bad move, such as resigning Uribe.
-
I just hope we see Anderson and Ozuna in place of Ramirez/Uribe. Need a little life from the 7-9 slots as Joe is still not there yet.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:38 AM) Well, that was an awful game. Can we try and change our luck and go back to the normal game thread titles?? I just don't wanna see Ramirez/Urine, I mean, Uribe anywhere near this lineup tomorrow. -

Someone asked where's our Fausto Carmona. I counter with where's our Grady Sizemore?!? Oh yeah, I forgot, he's leading off for AZ right now. Dammit Kenny! -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 02:13 AM) What a horrific inning of plate discipline. Just a shameful at bat for Dye. He had three pitches in that AB to crush the ball and fouled them all off. So close and yet so far is what this team is right now. -

QUOTE(kman @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 01:45 AM) Ok provider is Comcast. Maybe Since last year wciu was so crappy feed. THis year they make it HD and it looks like a normal cable channel im guessing Here's a snippet about HD from Greenstein in the Tribune: "White Sox fans in Chicago could not watch all those controversial calls from Monday's game in high definition. Comcast SportsNet spokesman Jeff Nuich said a transmission problem emanating from Cleveland's Progressive Field prevented an HD broadcast and that it should be just a one-day snafu. A separate issue prevented Cubs fans who have Dish Network from watching the Brewers-Cubs game in HD. Dish has yet to come to terms with WGN on a deal to broadcast the network in HD. The sides were said to be negotiating Monday, but Dish spokesman Parker McConachie would not confirm that and WGN Vice President Bill Shaw could not be reached for comment." Guess it's more than a one day snafu, kman. -

QUOTE(kman @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 01:42 AM) Hey I just noticed the little sign on the tv says Sox Net HD. This WCIU game is in HD? cause it looks nothing like HD. Who's you provider? I heard that Dish is still talking with the U and WGN over HD broadcasts so it's not HD yet. -

You know what's sad? In my anger over the fact Uribe's the starting 2B and Alexie Ramirez somehow is the starting CF, I completely missed the fact that MacDougal is still on this team. How the hell did that happen?!? -

QUOTE(southsidehawkeye @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:30 AM) Its currently 70 degrees in Havana, Cuba. Alexei looks cooooooold. haha, welcome to the midwest. Ramirez had no chance Mon and not one tonight. C'mon Ozzie, send this kid down and get him some seasoning! And nice AB for Crede, fought it off and pushed it through the middle. -

The good feeling I had going into tonight's game is all but gone with Uribe in there yet again Hope Swish and OC can revive it so Thome gives Indian fans a real reason to boo -
That Was a Good Game... The Positive Postgame Thread
Allsox replied to hi8is's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm happy with the way some of the Sox hitters were patient against CC and worked counts. I was estatic when they went the opposite way like Dye and Thome did. I LOVED they showed fight and they went down swinging and have the feeling they're gonna kick the holy hell outta Cle in the next two games! And if I'm an Indian fan, I'm scared as hell that my closer blows. If Joe was swinging the bat well, he'd parked a couple of those hangers into Lake Erie. -
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 11:21 PM) It was a fastball that carried back over the plate...there was no float about it I just dunno know why AJ or Ozzie didn't call the damn slider on that count. That thing has some break to it to the other batters and it boggles me as to why he didn't throw it at least twice to Blake.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) weird day so far. Thome homered off CC. Buehrle was walking guys and getting shelled. Thome homered off CC AGAIN. Masset looks decent so far. Bizarro world. Not so bizarro is Alexei Ramirez looking just bad against the reigning Cy Young Award winner. Ozzie was the only person in the whole world that didn't see that coming. -

Only hope now is CC keeps throwing balls and the Sox don't swing at 'em. Otherwise, very disappointing start to the season. -

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 07:00 PM) not a good way to start on defense. Brian Anderson better be in this game after the 6th inning. -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 24, 2008 -> 08:39 AM) That may be how it has to be. That, or hope that Owens flat out sucks in April. I really would love Anderson in CF, even if it means an unconventional lineup, because with Anderson in CF, a ton of pieces for this team fall into place. If Owens is in CF, I'm not a huge fan of the team. You've said it perfectly. Jerry Owens is not a major league OF while Brian Anderson is. With this pitching staff, this team needs all the defense it can get and Owens' noodle arm and poor routes to the ball will overshadow any offense he gives.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 03:47 AM) According to Ozzie in the Uribe status uncertain column on whitesox.com, Uribe is on waivers to gauge interest, not to be released. He also said Ozuna looks like the starter opening day because of his success vs. Sabathia. Brian Anderson should be starting in CF on Opening Day since he's had some success off Sabathia as well.
-
As far as I'm concerned, BA should, at the very least, be out there after the 7th inning of every single game this yr. Jerry Owens has proved he doesn't have much of an arm and putting Swisher out in CF reminds of the Mackowiak days with balls falling in between SS and CF. With the way this pitching staff is set up, they need all the defensive help they can get.

Wow, win-win situation all around! Singleton immediately improves BBTN as his analysis and demeanor is much better than Kruk or whomever ESPN rolls in and Steve Stone automatically improves the radio side 1000%! Congrats Chris, welcome aboard Stoney and my fellow White Sox fans, welcome to a professional radio broadcast!
