My point is that with the market there is for crappy pitchers like Benson and mediocore pitchers like Clement and Wright then their is a market for a guy like Garland who is 24 and puts consistant numbers year after year in a hitters park no less. Yet the reason he has no value is that KW and sox fans seem anxious to want to get rid of him because he's not putting up #2 starter numbers. I mean who cares that he's more affordable and puts up better numbers then almost every other #4 starter in the game.

Ok heres a ? for all of you Garland bashers... If he's already at this stage in his career twice the pitcher Kris Benson is... Has already had a much better career then Kris Benson has... (Kris wishes he could put up 3 back to back 12 win seasons in a hitters park) He's freaking 5 years younger this Kris Benson... Yet Jon is worth nothing and Kris is worth a multi year deal... Stop underestimating Jon's value, most of the GM's in baseball would love to have this guy in the 3 spot in their rotation (Especially in the national league where this guy would have an ERA in the freaking 3's) I'm sick of these lets try to get a bag of balls for him posts. We sure as hell can't replace him for 3.5 mil.

I think that the C Lee deal was a complete and utter failure before he seemingly decided to pocket the cash and keep the payroll at 65 Mil. (Can you tell i'm not a Pods fan.) Really I hope i'm eating some serious crow come June but I can't see the guy hitting above the .240 he did in Mil. Otherwise unless he signs a decent pitcher then we are totally screwed. However I think we could tread water with Diaz in the 5 hole (Grilli is a joke). It goes like this... Diaz= Contending but fall short 2nd Place...Maybe 3rd Perez= Division Other Decent Free Agent= Divison or at least contending Grilli= 4th Place, 20 loss record break, 2 win career high...

Well whoever we bring up needs to be given some real time to work out their problems. No more of this giving guys one start, declaring they suck, and throwing someone else out there. KW needs to figure out not everyone pitches like CY young their first time out.

Yeah...silly me I forgot the high demand for leadoff hitters who can hit.240 and put up .313 OBP.... Until he proves he's not a one year wonder on the field this deal will remain stupid. It sure as hell wasn't worth giving up C Lee over. If he uses the money to get a DECENT pitcher that will be one thing but if he sits on the money then it was a stupid trade, unless your a bigger fan of the sox making money then actually winning something on the field.

I honestly feel sorry for the guy. He seems like a very nice person but he just has no future in baseball. I guess he just picked the wrong sport. Hopefully he invested that money wisely...
