I didn't think he'd trade Carlos Lee for an outfielder who hit .240 and a bullpen arm we didn't need after Hermy.... Like I said if he pockets the money then this trade makes the Ritche trade look good and he would almost have to be fired...

I love Shingo. I'm just afraid with these bullpen signings that KW is going to try and trade away Shingo or Marte (or both).

While I still think that Posidnick won't be the lead off hitter for long. I guess there is no sense in worring about it anymore. I will be pissed if they move Rowand to LF though. I mean there is no way any team should ever move their best defensive outfielder into a spot when you sign one who's not as good. If KW doesn't sign a pitcher and pockets the money this makes the Koch and Ritchie deals look like overwhelming successes. Not only that I have a bad feel about our Bullpen. It's just way too crowded with short men and not enough long relievers. I have a bad feeling this means KW is looking to trade Damaso Marte and either Cliff Politte or Shingo.

I don't care how we get as long as we have a solid rotation 1-5. However it would be weird to have our #3 making more then our #1 and #2.

Did you people ride the f***ing short bus... A hitter who can never bat above .240 for the rest of his career and can barely get on base at a .300 clip is better then having both Willie and Lee. The real problem with this deal is Posednik sucks ass. He had one fluke season in the majors like a year ago which he will never come close to repeating and suddenly these GM's are creaming their pants over him. His numbers last year were really what he will do. We would have two years of a guy hitting .240 if we can even though that. Why don't we just put Jose Valentin in the leadoff spot then? Just say NO!

Yet who is more likely to get hurt... The 41 year old who had some knee problems just a few years ago... or the 24 year old who hasn't been injuried and has pitched close to 200 IP in the last 3 years...

Honestly I only want RJ is JR is willing to open up the payroll and pay for a consistant offense as well. I don't care who it is. I still say if KW makes this deal he would have to be the worst GM in baseball. He's 41. Too much of a risk for a team with our payroll. Plus we can't afford another pitcher to replace Garland if we trade him. Just imagine how ESPN will treat this trade if RJ got hurt and Garland had his breakout season in the NL.

I don't mean it as a complement. His defense alone I think should give him a ticket to the show because he is the best defense player at his particular position on the team maybe. I'd be willing to survive with his crappy bat in the 9 hole even against LH pitching if that offense was coming from someone else.

I don't know. I just think we need Willie's defense alot more then we need some guys bat. If it was a guy like Cairo who would be a part time starter that would be fine but I can't stand the thought of a great defense 2B sitting on the bench for some butcher with the glove just because his BA is 10 points higher. Besides the more at bats he sees from the left he has he can only get better. Also I do think he's an ideal #9 hitter because he has speed and can score from 1st on a long basehit or double.

Honestly I wouldn't mind signing him if he can pass a physical with our team. However I wouldn't give him anywhere close to what the Yanks almost gave him...

We just need a backup infielder. It's just a shame Ozzie has the best defensive infield in the American league and he's going to piss that away because he doesn't like Willie's attitude. Would you guys rather he went around saying, I suck, i'll never do anything, I'm the worst player ever. What pisses me off is he is an IDEAL #9 hitter. For god sakes let Rowand lead off. I know why Ozzie really hates Willie. It's because he is the exact same player he was without the rookie of the year award. Great defensively, nothing special on offense, no real power to speak of, #9 hitter his entire career. It was good enough for Ozzie as a player but we can't have a #9 hitter who bats .260+ and has a .340+ OBP. Please... Plus him and Uribe Combined make about 1 Mil. No offense but am I the only person who remembered how inconsistant our offense is... Some of you are suggesting that we trade away BOTH of our most consistant offensive players for middle of the rotation starter and an underachiving third basemen (which we already have). I'm sorry but KW should be fired immediately. He can trade one but Christ don't trade both. JR will not sign another big bat.
