I'm sorry but all of you people who want Cora are nuts... Cora is way to inconsistant. He is exactly like Willie except slower and worse defense. So we would be paying more then likely well over a Mil (if not more) for the slower version of what we have already (for like 500,000). I don't even think that KW is that nuts.

I voted good. I must admit that Carlos Lee deal still pisses me off, and I am expecting to worse out of Scott Posednik, but KW has finally gotten us a solid 1-5 rotation. As long as he doesn't make any more moves that affect the pitching this offseason then he has accomplished what he said he would. He ungraded the pen and the rotation. I'm still not sold on Pod as a lead off hitter, in fact I don't expect to keep it through April, so hopefully the other guys can step up around him.

I wouldn't mind Eckstein or Cairo but I want to stay away from Cora. Too much like Willie Harris for my tastes, only less defense and speed.

I don't really have too much of an opinion but I am shocked that SF signed a LF when their are plenty of RF's on the market...

For all of you who'd want Cora on this team, why? We would be benching Willie Harris for a guy who is just as inconsistant offensively, not as good defensively, and not as quick on the basepaths and why because he's Joey Cora's brother. No way! I want Eckstein or Cairo. Cora would just be like getting a slower Willie Harris.

I think he can be a "third starter" in name only but still get those 5th starter day's off. It would be stupid to be skipping a young guy like Garland in the rotation if it meant keeping El Duque in the rotation all year.

My point is it's 10 times better to have Garland after this year at half the cost then to have Vazquez tell us to f*** off forcing us to trade him for a crappy deal after he has another suppar year. Your right I do think he's not as good as Garland. I don't think he can hack it in the AL and if Garland was in the NL and in a pitchers park he could outpitch Vazquez in less then 3 years. I sure as hell wouldn't give up Garland in addition to someone else for him.

We all get frustrated with him. No Garland isn't the best pitcher in baseball. Yes Garland is a perfect 4/5 starter. Yes Vazquez sucks 10 times worse then Garland ever will. Yes Vazquez is over rated. When he decides he doesn't want to stay. We end up with nothing. At least if Garland leaves and becomes a free agent we don't lose anything. To give up our top prospect with him is a joke.

I don't know how to reply... CF is an important position and he is one of the best defensively in the game....check! .270 career hitter, Uribe wishes he could touch that....check! You lost all credibility right there... IMO opinion Garland is better then Vazquez just by himself. He is 25 and will only get better. He is consistant, always double digits in wins, and has pitched close to 200 IP. Also is cheaper. Vazquez sucks, he would demand a trade after the year is over as I believe that is in his contract, and if he sucks as bad as last year then we end up with nothing out of it. f*** Vazquez, I don't want him!

Wow I hate to agree with Anthrax... I mean what the hell you sign Uribe after one year but you don't sign a career .270 + hitter who is home grown and works his ass off. Signing AROW needs to get done ASAP. KW drops the ball on this and he should be fired. KW waits too long and he will be commanding JD Drew type money in a few years.

Thats why Ozzie would have to be retarded to not put him in the 5th spot. Jon might not be the better pitcher but if it means El Duque stays healthy the entire year then let him have the f***ing days off. Lets just hope Ozzie doesn't pull a Dusty Baker and make him blow out his arm like a month into the year.

Also if he dumped that much payroll, because the Yanks would have to pay almost all of Vazquez's contract to even make the deal decent. He sure as hell better get us something better then Eckstien with that money.

I'm not trying to say Garland will pitch better then Hernandez... I'm saying it's a better bet to have the young 24 year old throw those extra games then risk having the injury prone 40 year old (maybe) throwing to many innings. I think El Duque will be a great assest to this team as long as Ozzie doesn't overwork him.

I have to agree. He'll the the #5 guy and he'll get to skip starts. Not only that but I doubt with our pen being as strong as it is we will see him throwing too many complete games.

Jake the problem is your making the assumption that JR actually wants to win something. The only way he fires KW will be to keep up appearances. IMO as long as he's making money it's all cool with him.

I just don't get why signing AJ should be such a huge priority... I mean we need a 5th starter. C doesn't have to be an offensive position for us. It would be nice if it we're but as long as Ben and Jamie can keep themselves above the mendoza line I don't think it's going to be what make or breaks this season. We need a utility infielder (like Cairo) and a SP well before we need AJ.
