QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) It's just you read something like that and you can only come away with one thought and I don't need that type of mental image. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry I wasn't really thinking. I just read the article mentioning the condomn companies and it's something that has pissed me off for awhile.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) Yeah, I read that and had to stop and think about what all of that meant. When I realized what was being said I felt ill. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry I apoligize. It was just a rant on the manufacters. I apoligize.

Ohh come on like no one else has this problem. All i'm saying is if your going to make more then one f***ing size then you should make different varieties. It's boring only having to have one style to choose from... Ohh well...

Did you ever really believe they we're out of it? If so I've got some beach front property in Nebraska i'd like to sell you... -
Condoms suck. They always fit too tight around and they hurt like hell. I had to start using these boring as hell ones called "Magnums." Pisses me off that I can't use any of the cool colored ones or sensitive models. One size fits all my ass. :fyou Condom Company...

QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Am I the only one that would *really* rather have AJ than Iguchi? I think with AJ, we know more what we're getting, while with Iguchi, it could go either way. Plus, I think Ben Davis at C is more of a liability for us than Willie Harris at 2B. Maybe that's just me, though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm with you 100%. We know for a fact that AJ is an upgrade over Ben Davis. However no one can be sure that Iguchi will be an upgrade over Willie Harris (and anyone that claims to is suffering from a bad case of wishful thinking.) If it came down to offering 4 Mil to AJ or 4 Mil to Iguchi KW better offer that money to AJ.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) She sounded just as bad on that one though. Difference was that the audience was too drunk to notice how bad she was. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never said she sounded good. I have to admit she did look good. I was watching Leno and Conan but when I switched the channel for a second I have to admit she did look pretty good that night.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) There is one major difference, you probably have talent, she does not. So, basically a record exec. came up to her and said "look, you have little to no talent, but with the help of 'the marketing machine', you are gonna sell a few million records, do a few tours and make enough money in 5 years to retire on, if you're smart with it". Now if you're her, you'd jump all over it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Speaking as a guy with absolutely so talent musically yes I would do it. But I would lock myself away from the press and i'd stay as far away from anything live as possible... I saw the clip. It was pretty bad... She was looking totally hot on that New Years Rocking Eve though...

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 06:05 AM) I'm trying to keep myself unexcited right now but if this is true, wow, we're going to have one nice of a 1-2 at the top of the order and this would definitely allow us to move aaron down. I'm going to keep espn radio on see if anything comes up though I doubt it because Bruce is probably still sleeping, if anyone is listening to the score tell us if you hear anything. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No way in hell should Ozzie start him in the two hole. Rowand has proved his value there and has earned that spot time and time again. Why should we give it to a guy when we can't even be totally sure that he'll tread water in the MLB.

I just hope that us lowballing AJ is just spin coming from the cubune. Either you offer the man what he's worth or don't bother!

Wait a second... There are people who actually record Don Imus

Honestly I think we are a player away from being able to truely contend. We might be able to win the central but could we win the series, I really doubt it.

I'll give it a go... C- Carlton Fisk 1B- Frank Thomas 2B- Ray Durman SS- Ozzie Guillen 3B- Robin Ventura LF- Albert Belle CF- Aaron Rowand RF- Tim Raines (had to fit him in somewhere) Starters (In no particular order): Mark Buherle Alex Fernandez Wilson Alverez Jack McDowell Esteban Loiza (Circa 2003) Bullpen: Closer- Shingo Takasu Setup- Damaso Marte Setup- Tom Gordon Ok thats all I can think of off the top of my head. It's too late to think of years.

Beltran would have to be a complete moron to take that offer... Ohh well... :fthecubs

I'm at a junior college now (much cheaper easier to start out, I took a few years off first) but i'm graduating at the end of this next semester. I'm either going to WIU or ISU in the fall. Not sure which for sure yet. I've been accepted to Western already but i'm still waiting to hear back from ISU.

Snow, Ice, Blah! I'm not a big fan but I can't let it bother me that much.

QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) yep your right about that. And that 2006 is pathetic. Jaime Navarro!?! :puke <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats the one that got me cracking up laughing. If he got in I swear I would just piss my pants on spot. -

AngelasDaddy0427 replied to Winnin Ugly's topic in Pale Hose Talk
1) Frank Thomas (Almost impossible to have a list without Frank) 2) Carlton Fisk 3) Albert Belle 4) Robin Ventura 5) Aaron Rowand (Hard worker, pure talent: Last year was only the beginning! ) -
That is just sick. I'm going to think twice before I order the chicken mcnuggets again... Damn why do they have to be so tasty :banghead

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) Junior Mints are f***ing amazing with runners in scoring position. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I honestly don't think Billy Beane is all that great of a GM. Everyone acts like he's some kind of genius but it's not hard to win when you stumble across three of the best young pitchers in baseball. The real test is going to be able to see how he's able to rebuild now that he has lost that core.

Rankings of Top Rotations in Baseball

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 02:36 AM) No team would have put him in the bullpen and kept him there. Not one team. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your telling me if you we're a GM, and you had a guy come back from possibly career ending Tommy John surgury, you put him in the pen and he had a ton of success. You'd move him back to the rotation? I'm not saying he's a bad starter. I just think he'd be more valuable to the Cubs in their pen (as they don't have anyone who can do s*** in their now besides Hawkins and he pisses his pants when you put him in the closers role). -
Something I've been thinking about

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) I find it funny that when most everyone on this and other Sox message boards were calling for Rowand's head and saying he would never be an everyday player, that I was one of the few predicting his success as a full-time player. Now after he has had a good year most everyone believes he is a future star and I am one of the few saying hold off on that flavor of Kool Aid. I am still a Rowand backer, but I think perhaps some are expecting too much from him. I don't think Rowand is a .300 hitter. I have always said he has good power potential and I still stand by that, but I think he will end up being a .270's hitter. While his plate discipline has improved and may continue to do so, I don't think he'll ever be considered a high OBP guy either. He'll be respectable, but if he hits .270 with a .320-.330 OBP will people be disappointed? I hope not. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As another one of the people last year who still backed him when EVERYONE ELSE fell off the bandwagon I think that with AROW the talent has always been there. I think that the drive has always been their. IMO I think he will hit around .290+ with a .340 OBP. The thing that I fear is that I believe that he is a "slow starter." I fully expect him to slump in April. I'm just afraid that everyone is going to fall off the bandwagon before he heats up again. -

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) So you are saying that if he was on a team not as good as the cubs he would be in the pen? That makes no sense at all. You have an odd sense of humor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My point is any other team would of put him in the pen after his Tommy John surgury or after his habit of barely being able to get out of the 6th inning without having to throw 120 pitches came out. I seriously doubt he ever wins more then 15 games in a season just because of his inability to keep his pitch count down. Is he a good pitcher? Yes Is he a solid starter? Yes Would he be more valuable out of the pen? IMO Yes
