Right there with you, but Instead of coming back, I'd fine a new team to root for like the Rays or Padres (living in Tampa so Rays seem cool).

COME ON HAHN! GET HARPER ! He'd be much better in the AL :).

January - Royal Rumble Feb - No Way Out March/Early April - Wrestlemania It's not that far out, provides more time for compelling storylines. Could even through in a Woman's PPV or some sort of mini-event if need be or even a big NXT event. -

It was so good during the build up to the Royal Rumble and the Royal Rumble itself and then it just went in complete reverse. There's almost nothing tantalizing about the WWE right now. If I were in charge I'd nix having two PPVs in between RR and WM and just have one called No Way Out. Hell, I could create a card like this in a matter of 5 minutes of thinking: Charlotte vs. Ronda for WWE Woman's Title as main event (I'd have Becky vs. Ronda at WM 1on1, none of this BS we are going through now, could even have Becky as a special ref or enforcer or something for this match) Daniel Bryan vs. ____ for the WWE Title. Probably AJ Styles in some sort of gimmick match, like a ladder match or something. Have it be their final send off before WM. Finals of WWE Woman's Tag Title match: I would have done some sort of tournament or contenders match to find the two teams and give them an opportunity to bring the house down in a proper 2on2 for the belts. Likely Sasha/Bayley vs. IIconics or something (not sure how good IIconics are at wrestling). Some sort of SD #1 contenders match for the title at WM. Could go a number of different ways. Could do an elimination Chamber with say Samoa Joe/Kofi Kingston/Randy Orton and then three guys from Raw are given a chance like Ambrose/Finn/Elias/Srowman of sorts. OR could just do a straight up #1 contenders storyline. I'd almost prefer a triple threat at WM with like Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe and a big time face. Whatever, it's a mess. Asuka vs. Naomi vs. Mandy Rose for woman's belt. Need to start to build up your champion Asuka before WM. She hasn't been on TV in a while due to WWE woman's tag belts + it ends or continues the build of Naomi and Mandy Rose. IC Title Match: Lashley vs. whomever could be Finn or Elias or both, this match is acceptable. Shane/Miz vs. USOs this match servers a purpose and is fine. Cruiserweight title. Almas vs. Rey Mysterio: This one was obvious, not sure why they didn't go with this. Rollins vs. _____ Need to build up Rollins, perhaps have Heyman side with a WWE talent to give them a push and let Rollins take care of business in a high intensity match. Hell, maybe Elias, maybe Apollo crews, I don't know. It's better than seeing Strowman vs. Corbin for the 65th time. In 5 minutes time I've created a more compelling card that is logically consistent with storylines because I was not buried by the elimination chamber gimmick and having two PPVS back to back before WM. -

Why is it so hard for WWE to realize how silly these gimmick ppvs are? It forces them into creative 'hell' since they need to create storylines such that the matches are made for these gimmick PPVS which ends up feeling rushed. Just have one PPV in between RR and WM and call it No Way Out and let the writers do what is best for storylines during that time.... Also, why don't they actually use the ppv for something? This card is fucking horrid. My God. -
Harper to the Phillies made sense all along, it just hurts as I really wanted both Harper and Machado. I won't fault the front office for losing out on Harper as it seemed they focused on Machado, but they better get Machado if the Phillies get Harper. Failure to complete Machado would likely result in me finding a new favorite team. Really wanted to root for Bryce.
-
PLEASE FRONT OFFICE STRIKE AND GET HARPER AND MACHADO! THE TIME IS NOWWWWWWWWWW. I want to root for Harper and his hair for the next 10 yearsssss
-
I disagree here. I think that Nats have as much of a realistic chance at Harper as the Cubs or Yankees do... which is nada. I think the worst case scenario as you bought up is definitely the Padres. If they come up with the money with their loaded prospect system and location (Harper likes the West Coast from what we know), that would be deadly.

I know it's been said ad nasuem, but we are now on the verge of Feb 16 with Bryce Harper Manny Machado Craig Kimbrel Dallas Keuchel Mike Moustakas Marwin Gonzalez Josh Harrison Denard Span ADam Jones Jose Bautista Evan Gattis Gio Gonzalez Clay Bucholz All as free agents. Incredible -
Very good points. I understand where you are coming from. I *love* fantasy baseball. More than that, I love drafting teams. I drafted 63 yahoo leagues last year for fun. I figured I would take the 8 best and just use that on one username (max teams per username is 8). However, as the season went on I enjoyed it so much and couldn't tell which 8 teams were my favorite so I kept updating every team daily. After a month of doing this, I couldn't randomly stop, so I just kept up with it all throughout the year. It's something I'll never do again. This year I have a firm 8 league limit and I pleasure myself by doing mock drafts instead of real drafts :p.
-
Then how would we make it to 1,000 pages?
-
Man, I just hate how these two big signings are basically holding up baseball. I *want* to play fantasy baseball, I *want* to talk about baseball and make predictions, but I just can't until these two guys sign to a team. Grrrr.

Elimination Chamber predictions: Murphy vs. Tozawa : Murphy, Easy Lashley+Rush vs. Finn: Lashley+Rush. I think they put Rush in there to give Finn a chance at winning this, but I don't see Lashley losing the IC title so soon. Ronda vs. Riot: ronda loool Braun vs. Corbin No DQ: Braun, stupid match. Miz/Shane vs. USOS: Miz/Shane, they need the belts to continue their storyline. Woman's elimination Chamber: Sasha + Bayley, Toughest match to predict Men's elimination Chamber: Daniel Bryan Overall, a piece of shit PPV card for one of the worst PPVs of the year per usual. The only interesting thing going on is the Woman's elimination chamber because it's pretty unpredictable. I want Sasha+Bayley to win and they should be the favorites, but WWE has been known to swerve things in situations like this. I could see Mandy's squad winning it or the IIconics. The men's chamber will likely be some fun, but can we really get excited about *any* winner? AJ Styles has had his chances, Samoa Joe/Orton haven't been built up in a long while, Kofi is.. well Kofi, and Jeff Hardy is completely forgettable. Everything else on the card is pretty awful. The raw matches are straight garbage. -
The Early opt-outs make absolutely no sense for the Padres or the White Sox. It only makes sense for camp Machado.
-
Let's go with 1. Jon Jay/Moncada 2. Harper 3. Machado 4. Abreu 5. Eloy 6. Moncada/Jay (if jay, move down) 7. Alonso 8. Castillo 9. Anderson Moncada struggled against a certain type of pitcher (left or right I forgot) last year big time and had to be switched in the batting order due to that. So reflect it with my BO. Harper needs the 2-hole since his OBP is great.

Why do you think H2H is less effort over Roto? Out of curiosity. I think it is the consensus that H2H takes a much larger effort over roto since it's a daily grind of line up changes and streaming whereas Roto for hte most part is set it and forget it and every now and then check your team stats and see what you need to aim for.
-
I've done H2H all my life and every year it is determined by luck and not the better team due to the wonky playoffs. I was in 60 H2H standard leagues last year. I was first or second place in 57 of them (so I had first round byes) and clearly the best team in the majority of them. I finished first in like 30 or less of them. It's bogus. Also, H2H is a streamer based game. It's very intense where managers have to set daily line ups or risk being at a disadvantage, where the first manager to select the best streamers gets an advantage etc. Of course this can be diverted by a Weekly line up change setting, but then I think that hurts the reason why most people play H2H. Roto on the other hand takes an extremely balanced team where everybody is on the same footing. A manager can't stream SP's against the league because he'll run out of IP. So quality is better than quantity here. Thus, skill wins out often. It's also much more relaxed.. if you miss a few days it won't ruin your chance at competing. If you miss a few days in H2H, you likely lose the week.

Just having some fun: I've been pretty much wrong on everything so far on the Machado/Harper Free agency. I thought they'd sign in December or surely in the early part of the new year. Harpers Market in Order of likeliest 1. Philly For whatever reason, Harper doesn't seem infatuated with Philly even though their the most logical suitors. Money has to still be on Philly tho. 2. White Sox White Sox have the money, but the desire to sign both Machado and Harper is highly questionable. 3. SD Padres Their loaded on OF, but a Harper splash would be huge with their loaded prospect system. I still think this is very unlikely tho due to their OF and no DH in SD 4. Field: Highly unlikely anywhere else unless short-term deal which Harper's cam has already said no to. Conclusion: Harper ends up with Philly or CHW, only two logical choices. Can safely forget every other team not named the Padres. Machado Market in order 1. Chicago white Sox This thread is self explanatory. The need, the money is all there. 2. Philly Close second is philly. I think Machado makes alot of sense for them as they had one of the worst defensive clubs (ever?) last year. Their infield defense was atrocious. Not sure why they don't back up for Machado over Harper. Still, I'd be shocked if they get him over CHW at this point. 3. SD Padres - Again, distant possibility. 4. Field: NYY make some sense, but they've repeatedly declined involvement. Doubt that they'd be willing to go the long term lengths such as the CHW and PHI. All other teams are unlikely. Conclusion: CHW are getting Manny baybayyyy
-
I also fear SD as they have a reasonably low team payroll. I feel like they don't need Harper at all since they have a GLUT of OF'rs and no playing time. They did just make bad on Hosmer so who knows if that's playing into any decisions.

Anyone think Kimbrel would be a good idea?
iWiN4PreP replied to turnin' two's topic in Pale Hose Talk
OP is correct in stating that getting Kimbrel on a one year deal could potentially serve as a deadly trade piece at the deadline. It may even be the most significant trade piece available. I think he's right on that. But yeh -- Kimbrel will likely get a multi-year deal so the point is moot. I bet Kimbrel falls a part at some point during the multi-year deal that he gets. -

Her big matches are choreographed well in advance and that has seemed to work. Her PPV matches have all been really, really good. Her match against Sasha Banks at the Royal Rumble was fantastic, maybe 4*'s. Her matchs with Charlotte at Survivor series was amazing until Charlotte DQ'd it.
