GAME THREAD 5-27-2005 SOX VS RANGERS

QUOTE(JimH @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) He threw a few changes but not enough. Blalock stayed back on one change he threw and poked it into RF for a hit. But yeah, I agree completely, he cannot leave pitches up like he did. Teams like Texas and Cleveland will kick the s*** out of him. The indians are one of the very worst offensive teams in baseball this year. I do not follow. -

QUOTE(JimH @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) This is a good spot to bring in Vizcaino, let him go two innings and see if he can start to work things out. I predicted 14 runs for the rangers tonight while talking to willie. If vizcaino comes in i have a good shot. -

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) We start to lose and some of you guys act like f***ing idiots. ... coming into this game we were hitting .181 in the last five f***ing games. Let's not be concerned because we are five game up ( four after tonight) and have the best record in baseball ( not for long at this rate). -

QUOTE(jerseysox @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Hey all, big White Sox fan from Jersey here. I've been posting on southsiders.net, but I had to come looking for something else because everyone there is 16 and the most intelligent posts are "this sucks" and "white sox rule." Anyhow, just wanted to point out that the White Sox can make absolutely anyone look like Cy Young. If any productive regular gets a day off, i.e. Iguchi tonight, we are absolutely hapless. It's OK to be weak offensively, but to be as bad as we are with one solid player out is going to be a longterm problem. So, F the Twins, F the Rangers, and Go Sox! @ southsiders. Welcome to soxtalk. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Cool, I am going to start a poll, "Isn't it funny when qwerty rips on another user's post count when he has a bazillion posts of his own?" I did not rip you. Just stating a fact. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) Willie was our starting 2nd baseman last season. Ozuna was a non-roster invitee. More is expected from Willie s***ball. What does last year have to do with anything? I am not talking about last year when he was one of the best second baseman in the league defensively... and was around league average with his obp and average. I am talking about this year. Also, later i am starting a poll '' are jabroni's nicknames the corniest things you have ever heard''? -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Willie can't get the ball out of the infield. I remember all those grounders to the right side from last season now. Pablo has hit the ball out of the infield less than willie has this year. -

I love how rowand swings at balls off the plate constantly. I expecially love it when he swings at ball four every game. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) Qwerty.....there's a huge difference between a hitter swinging at too many high pitches, and a pitcher who leaves the ball up in the zone. Again, I'm not saying McCarthy can't be something special. It's just that right now, as young as he is, he needs more seasoning in the minors. Of course it is. He has left the ball up in the zone maybe four- five times in his two starts. Can you even count on one hand how often he did that in spring? Honestly? Mccarthy is not gonna suddenly give up less home runs in a hitters park like charlotte. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) I saw that pitch.....and as nice as it was, I don't think McCarthy should be in the majors right now. He needs to learn to keep his fastball down in order to prevent giving up a lot of homers. Nearly every hispanic player can't lay off of the high fast ball but they are still on a major league roster. Maybe we should send all of them done to work on laying off of them? -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 27, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) There's a big thread over at WSI about trading for Helton. I believe Helton's contract calls for something like $10-12 million per year, with something like $100 million on it. If you could get Colorado to pay something like $3 million a year for the rest of the contract, you could send back a package centered around Konerko (a year or two younger than Helton, IIRC), as well as an arm like Tracey. Helton isn't just a Coors Field guy, and you know that Kenny isn't looking for a guy that might help us win the division. He's gonna find the guy who's gonna help us win a title.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 27, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) The hottest chick has a boyfriend, I don't know if the chicks who likes me is going, the fat chick who probably likes me is going, and the two movies playing suck. But I'm going unless my parents act gay and say I can't stay out until midnight. More cushion for the pushin no?
