  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) He's pitched a lot recently, hasn't he? Four and two thirds innings in the last two weeks.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Politte in. Ozzie is really running these two (Marte and Cliff) into the ground. f***, let's put El Duque in, too. 20 innings on the season for marte? Sure he is dying.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) Ozzie over-manages yet again. I'm getting sick and f***ing tired of this s***. Cotts was rolling, so he puts in a tired ass Marte. f*** you right in the ass, Ozzie. Marte is tired? LOL.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) 7 I think. At least three of them were pick offs though. Including today it would be 8.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 31, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) Alright, seriously. Who voted Ozuna...
  6. Cotts coming in for garcia... yesssssssssss.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) He has 3 night wins and a home win 4.55 era during night games and 5.68 era at home. What milkman said is true.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Whoelse was great in their rookie years last year......hmmm, Shingo? How is he ( greene) doing this year in his limited time... hmm.
  9. QUOTE(JimH @ May 31, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) This is totally out of line. But ... whatever. I just post here. I am pretty curious if he has even gotten a warning.
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Fine, I can accept your opinion. By the way, 20-2 now. Who the f*** would vote for ozuna?
  11. QUOTE(Wanne @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) Oh without a doubt Uribe. The thing I always think about though is how better off would the Sox be if they'd have forked over 3 years instead of 2 for Vizquel...put Uribe at 3rd. I know the money was an issue so you might be lookin at no AJ (who's invaluable IMO). And I know hindsight sucks...but this team would be so better off with Viz at short...Uribe at 3rd...Willie in center and ARow in right. Just hypothetical if a decent discount RFer couldn't have been found. The money was not as big of an issue in my opinion as that third year was. You just don't hand out a three year deal to a player of his age that has had some health problems in the last few years.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) They just did a piece on ESPN on him. It was something that he makes all the regular plays, and never messes those up, so he is reliable, and therefor great defensively. Makes no sense. Another reason why i never thought jermaine dye was or is a good fielder. He is in the same boat as jetere just not nearly as good offensively.
  13. Jeter gets to the least balls in baseball from a shortstop and this is not over a one or two year period. More like over his entire career. I don't see why people are in love with him because he can make the routine plays.
  14. When it comes to defense i realized people look at errors and nothing but errors.
  15. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Is Texieria on the trade market Sure. If you want to say god bye to mccarthy, anderson, and another good prospect.
  16. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) If he was such a butcher, I dont think he would have 4 rings. He makes the plays he needs to, doesnt kill himself with errors. If Jeter was on any other team than the Yankees, I would really like him. Hell, I still like watching him play. He certainly doesnt make excuses, and he still plays the game hard. What does his defense have to do with world series victories? Ten others should have won the gold glove before him last year. Now if we are talking about offensive shortstops he is near the top of the list. Defensive not even close. If he didn't dive into the stands he doesn't win that gold glove and i truly believe it.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) Actually, I didnt read it that hard. I would say top 10, but not top 3. There is a third baseman in new york who is better than most of the SS in the league. Then you have Tejada, Jeter, Cabrera and a few others that could make the choice really hard. Lol @ of jeter. Now talk about a butcher cheesus lice.
  18. Willing to bet the reds message boards didn't have a twenty page thread about randa when they signed him.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Speed is overrated in the field, look at A-row in CF. Alot of people will complain about his range, and his speed, but the guy gets ridiculous reads on the ball when it comes off the bat, not to mention he takes some of the best routes to fly balls that I have ever seen. Some players just seem to be in the right place at the right time all the time. One player who stands out in my mind other than A-row is Vizquel, the guy doesnt have the strongest arm, and isnt crazy fast,(but he is quick) but the guy is flat out one of the best SS's i have ever seen. I am not gonna complain about a guy that in consistantly in the top of baseball in zone rating ( rowand) first last year for center fielders. Second this year only to reed who is not that far ahead of him. What i do have a problem with is his handling of grounders which is very poor but i have stated it many times in the past. Also he doesn't seem to have as accurate of an arm this year than last year... but all in all i have no qualms with his defense.
  20. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 31, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) And how the hell does a stat calculate such things as range? That's a stat you really can't put a number on. I do go to a ton more games than any of you do. Uribe as a 2B or 3B> Uribe as a SS. Never did I say he was a butcher at SS either(but I guess some guys like arguing to make them look tough) I said Ozuna is a better SS than Uribe. ''Stats inc'' has diagrams and such that displays how much ground they cover. It is a stat that can be put in put a number on even though it is not perfected yet it is the best anyone has come up with at the moment. Uribe> at third and second and it is not even that close.
