5/26 @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) It's sort of funny... I'm sitting with my dad, and I tell him, "If Scott Shields throws a breaking ball in the dirt, he's got himself a strikeout." And what do ya know? If a 16-year old kid can predict something like that, that's bad. Carl's not doing a damn thing right now... How the f*** did he not just stand there and laugh at that pitch? It bounced the f*** in there. :headshake

QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) If Marte is unavailable, Cotts will likely be brought in to face one of the many lefties in the Angels lineup. Even though he cannot get lefties out at a good percentage...

QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) Am I missing something in this. They are completely different players, playing completely different positions. I like both of them. Basically i love widger and jabroni loves ozuna. That is all there is to that. Widger>ozuna.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) ??? Is that really what you're thinking about right now? Ah, if only I could dig up some of the old WSI posts with Timo last year. What he say. I am curious. Was timo his ''boy''?

Mike Lowell
QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) He sure is doing well for the Astros this year. When Rolen went down with his shoulder injury I scouted all the available 3b to fill his spot and elected Ensberg. I had him on my squad when he had that 3HR game a couple weeks back. He's been pretty solid offensively but I'm not sure how his defense is. Anyone know his contract status? If the Astros do have a fire sale and he's available he might be a nice addition. He is not even arbitration eligible yet, in other words he is not going anywhere.

Carlton Fisk and the White Sox
QUOTE(thomsonmi @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) I figured a good thread kidknapping might be entertaining this afternoon. The Rockies started six rookies today and their manager is back here tending to his extremely ill 3 year-old daughter. If ever a team was ripe for the picking it is and was the Rockies. But, not by these Cubs. It's really too bad. Are you a rockies fan also?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Who said Ichiro wouldn't be successful in America. I remember a people picking him as an early rookie of the candidate before he even signed with the Mariners.

QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) How do we know that this pitcher sucks without seeing him ever pitch... Ever hear of japanese insiders, message boards, websites, etc...? They follow baseball as much as we here in the united states.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Didn't we already talk about this guy and came to the conclusion that he sucks. He doesn't suck but there are better. The padres are also very interested in him. They are interested in practically every player from japan and i expect them to grab a couple in the off-season.

New Rumor
There are alot better pitchers over there than him. No thank you.

Which GM has done a better job
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) So your saying that the 13 divisonal title have more to do with the Manger than the GM? ... and the best pitching coach in all of baseball by far. Whatever he touches turns into gold and it is not a coincidence

Ozzie it's not a sin for Marte to face a RH
I have seen marte hit 97 a few times in his tenure here. When he is going good his fastball is at 95-96 with his pin point control. This year his whip is disgusting at 1.47. It is not because he is given up alot of hits, it is those 12 walks in only 19 innings that is hurting.
