  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) You must not see the missing name...................because it's missing. Reiner = Bye bye. Money availability.
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Dye hitting the ball very well tonite, even though he's just 1-3 as I type this. He needs to keep it up, no excuses. If he ke eps hitting those rockets they will eventually finds the holes.
  3. How about you keep that 95-96 mile an hour fastball the rest of the year marte?
  4. If cotts comes in next inning there is no excuse for it i don't care if he goes 1-2-3.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) A.J Pierzynski has an average lower than Joe Crede. Just some food for thought. Henry blanco damn it.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) Hinrich Gordon Deng Chandler Eddy Donyell Othella Duhon AD Nocioni Pargo Piatkowski Griffin Keep the core, get everyone healthy, add Yell to the bench.....another contender. Marshall means one of duhon/harrington will not be back.
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 17, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) ... until Crede's average is back down to .239 like last season. Why the f*** do people want to replace a player makign the money he is? He is not one of the main problems at this point. Bullpen is gonna end up being a problem as i have said since the off-season and the core of the damn line-up making all the money can't do s***. Crede should is way down the line.
  8. Worst thread of the season.
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) Both should be criticized. They are both holes in our lineup. You could even be justified to rip on Dye more because he has also been a butcher in RF even though he's supposed to be good defensively. Konerko is the highest paid player on the entire team. He is suppose to be the face of the franchise along with buehrle. I just you could still make a case for thomas but i would disagree. Konerko is also our most feared hitter ( until thomas comes back) in one of the most important parts of the line-up, the four whole. Sure he is tied for the team lead in rbi's but he has had plenty of opputunities to be in the mid to high 30's. .191 with men in scoring position? Is he enrique f***ing wilson? Konerko also takes the best pitch of every single at-bat then swings at the sliders and off speed s*** away. Dye on the other hand swings at some good pitches but he stikes out or pops it up/little fly ball. We also shouldn't have very high expectations for a guy that has hit righties so poorly in the last few years ( dye). Anyway, when it comes down to it, konerko is the bigger problem and more weight falls upon his shoulders than dye's.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) Paulie's doing the same s***. :headshake Exactly, for double the money. konerko should be playing a bigger role in our offense considering he bats clean up. I also think konerko should be criticised before dye is. Even though i am clearly not happy with dye's performance.
  11. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) I hope so, but even I am beginning to have doubts. That is saying something.
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:35 AM) Watching Dye bat makes me wonder how he ever produced those career years in 1999, 2000, and 2001. How has he gotten so bad since then? Knee breaking = hard to over come. He was lucky that he broke the part of his leg that he did because it could have been worse for his baseball career.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) That's no different than replace an injured catcher with the backup from the bench. If he gets injured, he gets injured. Of course, the catcher and 1B can collide on a foul popup and knock each other out, but that's a stretch as well. Sarcasm. I was the main person that couldn't understand jabroni's logic.
  14. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) Of course you can. If the catcher gets injured, you move the 1B to C and put Paulie back out there at 1B You are just plain wrong But what if that the first baseman that you move to catcher ( who is actually a catcher in the first place) gets injured?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  15. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) Anyway, Bulls still have to resign Duhon with part of that MLE. Could possibly sign him with the lle. Also, these players listed in the article really don't mean all that much considering it is just speculation on writers part.
  16. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) Pax has already said that he only is going to get filler players(think of your Linton Johnson's and Ronald Dupree's) for this year because he is looking at the 2006 FA class. Don't know why considering the good players that will demand money will most likely sign back with their teams. Seriously, does anyone think Amare or Yao would sign here? I don't. Anyway, Bulls still have to resign Duhon with part of that MLE. With what Pax has said he's looking for, Kukoc(on a 1 year deal) and Antonio Daniels/Mike Ruffin(another one year deal) seem about right. Kukoc is done in my opinion. Not exactly done but for what we are looking for he is. He brings nothing to the table defensively and is not the same scorer he use to be. Would be useless to sing him in all honesty.

QUOTE(knightni @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:46 AM) That isnt really YOU is it, qwerty? Yes. Why?
  18. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) It would be a killer defensive squad (perhaps Top 5 in the NBA with San Antonio, Detroit, Indiana, and Memphis), not to mention one of the top rebounding teams. We'd have the most defensive depth in the entire league (Duhon, Hinrich, Bell, Nocioni, Ruffin, Chandler, Dalembert, etc). Scoring: 15-17 PPG Potential: Hinrich Gordon Deng 12-14 PPG Potential: Nocioni Dalembert 9-11 PPG Potential: Bell Chandler Harrington 6-8 PPG Potential: Duhon Ruffin Davis Sure, I'd like to have that 22-25 PPG threat. But I don't want to be the New York Knicks, you know? I want a defensive squad that can just wear people out. I want wins by submission, not some bulls*** shoot-outs. That s*** ain't basketball. We keep Curry, and we have a 18-20 PPG threat in the paint. But again, I don't want to be the New York Knicks. I don't want heartless, overpaid goofballs. I want a team of guys who will do absolutely anything that it takes to win. Most teams only have a couple of those guys nowadays...I want like 8 or 9 of them. Now there's a team that I can get behind. If we went with the line-up you have we would be able to sign a max contract player and some after next year. We would still have the core outside of nocioni who we would likely resign considering he loves chicago and is happy with his role. The thing about defense is the better you are the less you have to rely on scoring. Isn't that a great thing?
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Probably the same amount you can bench the same guy who put up .304 27 104 .857 and was an All-Star the year before. Come on. He was only making $6,250,000 so it is a big difference.
  20. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) Most teams usually have a backup 1st baseman. Right now we don't with Choad on the DL. It's a risk that Ozzie obviously does not want to take. Besides, a guy making $8 million dollars needs to break out of a slump one way or the other. How much can you bench a guy making $8 million and who hit 41 homers last season? I sure wish we had a healthy Choad right now. I am saying for a day or two to clear his head. Another thing that is very common.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Of course, he has. My point is that I would try to mock the moves of a manager whose team lost 90 games last season and looks to not be in contention this season either. Teams through out the ages have used their back up @ of a certain position as a starter and it doesn't t seem to me that when they do that both of them become crippled.
  22. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Good call. Since none of those guys would be vying for an All-Defensive slot, I'd say it would be a good, but not great, and definitely above average, although slightly, defensive team and an extremely horrible offensive one. We were the best defensive team in the league this year. We would only get better with those additions ( defensively).
  23. QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) forget about PK, im tired of Crede. Its the same old bs with this guy every year. he gave me hope at the beginning of the year, but now its the same old s*** again. before we know it he'll be hittin the usual .240. his swing his long and looks terrible at times, and he keeps poppin the f*** up. when is fields gonna be ready and what else is availible to replace joe? and im not just startin this rant cuz weve lost 3 in a row, Crede has been pissin me off for some time Konerko 8 million suppose to be one of our best hitters. Crede making far less and doesn't have the role that konerko does. I am more pissed about konerko by far.
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) So we should do what the Tigers do? Yeah, they make great decisions including giving Magg$ a bazillion dollars when they really needed starting pitching. I hope we don't ever try to copy anything the Tigers do. They were just one example. Other teams have done similar things such as playing starting their back up second base man else where or back up third base man else where. It is pretty common really. I just don't see the huge risk that you and rooney and farmer do.
