QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 12, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) i knew we would win this game, dont take the orioles too lightly, when they are hitting they are tough, and they havent even thrown bedard or cabrera at us Every fast ball hitter we have better be in the line-up that day and hopefully a couple of them run into one on accident. I think we either rock cabrera and his potential 100 mile an hour fast ball or we get shut down. No in between in my opinion.

Olivo cannot hit right handers and is not good defensively. What else is there to really talk about?

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 12, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) If Crede puts up career numbers they will get a 3 yr deal done. He's just coming into arbitration & Boras is very limited there. It's after arbitration where he's likely gone. I don't see the need to trade for Dotel when Hermy is getting the job done. You don't see the need for a deeper bullpen? I am not talking about dotel closing.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 12, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) who cares, its not gonna happen, and arguing that Dotel would be an improvement over our set up men is useless. check out Cliff's Marte's and Hermy stats this year, unbelieveable. Not to long ago people didn't want the ''gascan'' aka politte to enter the game at all. Others thought marte was entering the down side of his career. Many questioned how well hermanson could do also. So there was more than enough things to doubt about this pen. Would dotel be better than our current set-up man? Maybe, maybe not. Would he make the bullpen that much stronger? Um, yes.

QUOTE(longshot7 @ May 12, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) I totally disagree about Cabrera. I watched him play a lot so far this season and I like his defense way more than Eckstein's. His range is phenomenal. Their offense is horrible right now tho. Vlad & GA are awesome. Eckstein's range factor is actually higher than cabrera's this season and career wise eckstein's range factor is better than cabrera's. I will never understand how every one use to say anderson was so underated. When you are mentioned as unerated every day looks like to me you are overated. Does a guy with a career obp of under .330 and ops of .805 qualify him to make ten million a year?

QUOTE(Wedge @ May 12, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) I think system with the overall best games made was SNES. They have the best gameplay/storyline combos overall. I agree, but for alot of people it is all about the graphics which i stringly disagree with.

QUOTE(knightni @ May 12, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) I always liked Paperboy. You could get points by throwing and smacking barking dogs with newspapers, breaking windows, hitting guys who were mowing the lawn...etc. That game is way too repetitive therefore making the game old really fast.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 12, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) Man...you need to go to MLB.com and see if you can find highlights of the last 2 Oakland-Red Sox games. Seriously. What do people see in this guy? I can't figure it out, he's had an ERA about 4 over the last 2 seasons 2001- 2.66 era. 2002- 1.85 era. 2003- 2.48 era. 2004- 3.69. He sucks.

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) I'm having such a good year a sophomore I have been picked to go to Florida this summer in a bunch of Former Major Leaguers showcase camp. Also will be playing in the Colt World Series on the Hoosier North team. :sleep -
QUOTE(Wedge @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) If Yankees continue to tank... Mariano Rivera? Then we would complete our ex-Yankee staff. Bad joke.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Why not? There are a ton of teams in the bigs now that wish they had Billy Wagner as their closer, even at these dollars. I don't know where we are gonn apull the money out of our ass to resign him if we dalt for him. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) We'd be paying him $4 million if we were to get him halfway through the season. As for the payroll, who gives a s***? If JR and Co. are willing to raise it to get Wagner, why complain about how much each player is getting paid? If they were willing to raise the payoll that much to resign him that would be great but i have my doubts they are gonna want a closer making 8+ million dollars a year.
-
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) You might notice that many lineups (or better ones) in the AL are very loaded with lefty bats (Angels, Twins, Indians, Oakland). Plus, Wagner is so good against righties that you can use him against the heart of a right-handed order without blinking. I am stunned that there is a lot of debate about giving up prospects for a guiy like this. Hell, extend his deal if you want to also. We are not gonna pay a closer more than 3/5 of our rotation. I don't care how good he is i don't want to pay a closer 8+ million.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:13 PM) What ended up happening with the Twins???? Lost 7-4. -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) I almost hate to ask this, because I know what I am going to get, but whatever... Why are you always such an asshole? Seriously. Soxn never said he was going to...he was just commenting on how Bechtel went from being very assertive to being very passive in the blink of an eye. He proved he is bark than bite. At least he hasn't bumped a thread for a week or two i believe.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) A lot of "f***ing stupid" things around here lately.. :rolly ...
-
QUOTE(Steff @ May 11, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Hopefully he wont be pissed if he can't finish.. Why would he be? Four runs in 8 innings is not great. Don't really see a reason for him to close it out. If he is pissed that is f***ing stupid.
