  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Konerko will not be moved especially to the 7th hole. Also that is the slowest bottom of the order in Baseball from 6 to 9 there is absolutely no speed. Well chances are we would not hit into many double or triple plays considering none of them get on base.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Any game that you play Everett in the outfield, you're putting your team at a significant defense disadvantage. Also, there's not a chance that Pods or Rowand should be taken out of the lineup. Agreed, dye's defense has been out of this world.
  3. Better keep the undefeated streak alive...
  4. Ozzie the airdale thinks we got ripped off so it must be true.
  5. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) I have to go back to the early 90's to find one. Some say that defense is too good now a days to score that many points. The Suns have more than proven that's simply a myth.
  6. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 10, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) You make 7 points sound like nothing. That's usually the difference between a win and a loss. What's your point? By the way, I'm glad you recognize why Nash won now: "He is the catalyst of the suns and is in the right place at the right time, therefore the mvp. " Seven points is a big deal but it's not like they are going from 103 to 96, they are going from 110 to 103. You should be able to win at a higher winning percentage than around 30 % when scoring 103 points per game, no? He had a very good season on a very, very potent offensive team i am not saying other wise. But could they have one without steve nash? Yes. Could they have been one of the best teams in the nba without steve nash? Yes. Why were they 2 and 5 in the seven games he missed? Was it due to lack of points? No. Many players could have been their ''catalyst'' aka their point guard and over a full season they would be over 105 points per game... more than enough to be very, very successful unless you don't play defense like them. Not like when nash is in the line-up he is locking down his defenders and really helping them defensively. When i think of an mvp i think of a player that could step in on practically any team in the nba and steve nash is not that type of player. I also think of it as if you take that player off the team they are currently on how well would they do? Take nash off they would be fine if they could play defense, if you take shaq, dirk, duncan, etc... of their teams they would not be very good.
  7. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) I think Mcmillon should get recognized in the top five, not win it. Johnny Davis was just a horrible coach, I feel for you Orlando fans. I think even he would have gotten phoenix in the playoffs though. Not 1 seed but at least 4 or 5 seed. So d'antoni made the suns who the suns are?
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) Oh, so you were saying that Nash was the MVP that drove them to win. They weren't the same team without him. He deserved the MVP award. I agree. Lol. The opposite actually. If a fairly raw second year player can lead them to score 103 points per game, which is 7 points less than when nash is in the game what does that say for nash? Several other point guards could have made this offense flow as good as nash whether you think that is hypothetical or not it is the truth. He is the catalyst of the suns and is in the right place at the right time, therefore the mvp. I would say shaq's 20+ points on over 60% shooting ( only two players have done that in the past twenty years is more impressive) his defensive presence also means a s*** load.
  9. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) You will support anything suns because of steven Hunter and Q. I pose a question for you. How would skiles do with suns ? How would D'antoni do with this year's bulls? I just think that the gm for the suns is more to credit for building that offensive beast in phoenix. Paxson did a great job bringing in the rookies for skiles, but C'mon how often do you see coaches win with a team as young as the bulls? You see coaches win with the type of talent phoenix has all the time. Suns would still do what they do best which is score but they would not give up 103.3 points per game with skiles as their coach that is for damn sure. The bulls would probally be a little worse consider d'antoni doesn't focus on defense which the bulls specialize at. His rotations are also pretty weak ( going by when he coached the nuggets and not now since he only really has a 7-8 man team.
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) That's silly. Their "problem" gave them the best record in the league, allowed them to dominate the first round, and they continue to do so with tonight's performance. How is winning a problem? I am saying when nash was out. Not now.
  11. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) A good coach get's the team to play no matter what. You have the best damn record and one player goes down? So everyone gives up? Who is the leader of those guys? The coach of the year. Their problem was not scoring points it was stopping the opposing teams score points. 103 points per game which would still be tied for first in the nba for points per game and win two out of seven games? No one to blame but the players playing defense. It is not like the player who replaced nash ( barbosa) is any worse of a defender than nash is.
  12. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) waaa waaa waaa Remember chicago was not deeper the last quarter of the season. Don't even say skiles had the edge because of players like pike, pargo, griffin ect. How did Phoenix do without nash? How did chicago do without Curry and deng? Chicago kept rolling to finish out the season. Phoenix plain out sucked without 1 player, Nash. 103 points per game should be more than enough to win more than two out of seven games that nash was out. Not like they missed his defensive presence. No one's fault they are commited to defense zero percent.
  13. QUOTE(DVsoxfan @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) I signed a minor league free agent....Troy Tolar....kids tearing up the minor leagues. He throws an 88 mph 4 seamer, a 2 seamer, a curve, and a 95 mph palmball So I looked at some of the other guys I signed as well....and one of them throws a 100 mph palmball!!!! Has anyone else noticed this??? Makes no sense that a palm ball of all pitches would be faster than a damn fastball.
  14. I play basketball with the one kid from it. I am teh l33t
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) But I thought for sure Kenny would be a lock for you, considering the widge pickup. I will take credit for widger. I knew he was just playing softball in his hometown so i gave kw a call and said we need to give this guy a shot. Worked out well.
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) Just curious, do you feel Beane is the best GM in baseball, but you feel he is not like a god who can do no wrong, which is what some of the media portray him to be, or do you not feel he is the best GM in baseball? And if the latter, who do you feel is the best? Personally, I do feel he is the best GM in baseball...doing what he has done, and doing what the A's will do this year, is pretty incredible with such a tiny payroll. There are arguments out there for better GMs, but there are not many. Jim bowden should win gm of the year... vinny castilla and all.
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:04 AM) There are going to be pitchers available around the deadline, like there are every year. If Baltimore needs another pitcher, I'm sure they'll look to make the move. Eric milton would be an awesome pick-up.

  20. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) Wow, I want some of what you've been smoking... You have not seen enough of widger apparently. :headshake
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Widger>>>>>Olivo defensively. Widger>>>>>> pierz all around. Don't even try to deny it.
