  1. It is complete and utter bulls*** that duke's stength of schedule on this site anyway is fourth in the ncaa. Wtf? http://www.kenpom.com/rpi.php They are also 15th in the pomeroy ratings on that site.
  2. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) If El Duque pitches over 200 innings, I'll set up a web cam and eat my hat. Is his stuff better than Silva's? Absolutely. Will his contrabution to the Sox better Silva's to the Twins? We'll see. Please, no heated arguements, none of your Nostradami (plural of Nostradamus?? ) will know until season's end. This is pure speculation. Well i do know if he pitches 150 innings or more, hell, even if he pitches 120 innings next season that means we do not have to have a swinging door with the damn rookies who will just continously get rocked. He stays healthy there is no doubt in my mind he helps the white sox more than silva will help the twins.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) So? I'll still take the starts El Duque makes plus the starts Diaz makes in his place over Silva. That OK? I agree. How do you not have a five era with these numbers? 1.43 whip, .310 average, .342 obp, .462 slg, and .801 ops. Those are some pretty damn s***ty numbers
  4. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Radke's a finisher: 3yr Pre All-Star 4.59ERA .284BA 3yr Pos All-Star 3.62ERA .266BA How do you explain that? The best I can come up with is that he feeds off momentum of the other front-line starters in the 2nd half. There seems to be a pattern there. Antranx has to love radke. His famous quote '' it's not how you start but it's how you finish'' bartolo colon, lmfao.
  5. QUOTE(rangercal @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) You said f*** when you replied to me. Its obvious how you meant it. Who cares. I honestly mean no harm. Maybe I should leave and not come back. Would that make you happy? Im as die hard of a sox fan as you, or anyone else on this board. maybe I just wont cross your path any more. No, i don't think anyone would agere with you that i meant it towards you. Like greasy said there always is the ignore feature.
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) I guess that makes 2 of us that dropped the F Bomb. I didnt mean anything by asking you if you thought maris cheated? Did i say f*** towards you? I personally do not care. But rules are rules.
  7. QUOTE(rangercal @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) hey motherf***er , that is what I got from your ruth comment. Sorry I was wrong. Obviously this poll was made because of all the alleged cheating. I could not think of any other reason you would not pick marris. I forgot about the more games played by maris. Its been a while since I watched 61* . OT: is that Ichiro suzuki on your avator? Any reason for the vulgarity? I do not see you sticking around long.
  8. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) Put that in your pipe and smoke it qwert. Not exactly.
  9. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) Not really. Technically Maris had 7 more games to hit his 61. However, Maris played in only 156 games where Babe played in 151 in 1927. Babe had 705 total plate appearances and Maris had just 698, so in reality Babe got more chances. Maris did play in 161 games in 1961 the year he broke the record. Ruth never had 705 plate apperances in his career.
  10. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:17 PM) maybe that's why Mcgwire ended his career with an injury, Giambi currently has an injury, and Nomar has an injury. Maybe the roids are messing with their bodies...making them weaker....like when Giambi got the parasite. Any player is an idiot if they take steroids....they do a ton more harm than good....doesn't matter how much you take or don't take. I don't think nomar has had any injuries that could have been because of steroids. Has he? I don't remember them all.
  11. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Agreed. The guy was hungover half the time, and it still took 3 guys on the juice 70 years later to hit 60 homeruns faster than he did. I'm not a fan of praising Maris, he got an extra 10 games to try to break the record in. Exactly my reason. To rangercal~~~ why the f*** would i think maris cheated?
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) What? That skinny little dude? Uh ok?!?! You do not have to become a monster like sosa, bonds, giambi, etc if you take them.
  13. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Dude, what more could you possibly ask from Brad Radke? You know what you're getting. No skepticism. No you don't. He has never had back to back years with an era in the 3's. He has in the fours though.
  14. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) but please keep your fetishes to yourself. Well, there goes half of the other message boards i visit. I am on soxtalk occasionally if no one has noticed. I know others from soxtalk post here or at least read it. http://basketballboards.net/forum/index.php?= Just joined this site a couple days ago to make fun of the dumbasses http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=7 Also look at various major league baseball teams boards to see what they have to say.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) Damn I am glad you said that Tony. I was racking my brain trying to figure out WTF ColdSteel was I am glad he doesn't want back in, as I figured it msut have been a banned poster, or someone who changed their name because I couldn't find anything about him. I already talked to Knightni, and he is taking that spot. As of right now, we have 7 committments to league 1. I have PMs out to the other 5 people who were in the league, and will let everyone else know as we get closer to Yahoo sign ups. In so far Me Bones Tony82087 MrZero (whatever his name is now ) DBAHO Sox1422 And new for 2005 Knightni As dbaho said, i would like to be in league one if all possible.
  16. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) To that I will add that one constant for most of those 4 yrs was Mient, Koskie, & Guzman & they are all gone. I just think it's a little presumptuous to think that such a loss will go without any significant drop in offense or MIF defense. Barlett looks like he will be an upgrade over guzman. Morneau also has a s*** load more potential than mient does or ever had. Cuddyer can hit 20 or so homeruns at third if he get 500 at-bats or more with a respectable average and obp. All in all they have not down graded as much offensively as some people think. Here come the numbers i am guessing.
  17. Opening day for fantasy baseball feb 17th. Told you those guys are on top of this s***.
  18. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) Gload has alot smaller surface from which to draw from. He simply hasn't had the at-bats that Carl has, so there's no way you can compare those numbers. Carl is a better hitter than Gload IMO. No one really knows who is the better hitter since gload has been blocked from coming up nearly his entire minor league career. Last year was a kinda small sample size but i know i wouldn't be suprised to see him hit in the .280-.300 range over an entire hitter. He has proven he can hit every where he has been in the minors unlike our lead-off hitter.
  19. QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) Santana: 228 IP, 2.61 ERA, 1 CG, 24 HR, 66 ER, 54 BB, 265 K, 20 W (on a playoff team w/ AS closer), 1 SHO Halladay: 266 IP, 3.25 ERA, 9 CG, 26 HR, 96 ER, 32 BB, 204 K, 22 W (on a terrible team w/ no closer), 2 SHO I think it is more comparable than you made it out to be. A guy who can throw 9 CG (including a 10 inning CG IIRC) is special. Santana had a lower average against him (.192 to .247), but almost twice as many walks in less innings. The Ks are impressive though. He gives up more HR too. OBP was close as .249 to .275. That is a few base runners here and there. Halladay also faced almost 200 more batters (881 to 1071). Darst I say Santana had one more wild pitch than Halladay too (7 to 6)? I would rather have a guy give up more walks than hits any time. A .55 point batting average differential is huge. Santana gives up more home runs but slightly. Not signifigant enough to matter. Santana was one of only two starts this year i believe to have a whip under one ( 0.92). Hallday's was 1.00 exactly. Santana in 2004 held batters to .191 average, .249 obp, .315 slg, and 564 ops. Halladay in 2003 held batters to .247 average, .275 obp, .389 slg, and 664 ops. You look at the career numbers only thing halladay really has an edge on is complete games. Another thing santana has going for him is being left handed. Sanatan's cy young season was much better than hallday's. Not takking anything away from halladay but last year from sanatana was unreal.
  20. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) how we going to do this...you wanna see how many people return to the leagues...and the people that don't return you are going to replace? If so I would take a place of someone in a head to head league...or be in a new head to head league that is live or autodraft....doesn't matter. Auto drafts= teh su0rs. :puke
  21. QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) I have to imagine he would have some major incentives and bonuses....I felt Halladay had a more impressive season his Cy Young year than Johan in his, so I think he won't get more money. The Twins will get this deal done. They have to, I see them playing with their everyday players more than their pitching staff. You need atleast two top line starters to compete for the WS (who cares about the division ultimately!?!). I see a different OF, as their three make some cash and they have guys who could hold the positions okay. So, goodbye Jacque Jones by default. Comparing santana's cy young season to halladay's is like comparing apples and oranges. Santana was better in nearly every category possible.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) I don't think any of that is new... Is it? Last year it was ten starts for positions players or 15 appearences. For starters it was five starts and 8-10 relief appearances to qualify as a reliever. Trust me, i got this from a fantasy baseball message board and they are always ahead of peopel with this s***.
  23. I didn't know if i should make a new thread for this or not but this will be pretty important come draft time. New amount of time at each position to become eligible.
