  1. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) MVP awards are overrated. They don't really mean anything, it's just a collection of people's opinions. You could make a strong case in any year that 2 or 3 other players could have been MVP. Hell, Ted Williams won the Triple Crown and didn't get the MVP, so it can't mean that much. Do we really think that Bill Russell was Michael's equal because they both have 5 MVP's, or that he was better than Chamberlain because he only won 4? No. You could make a strong case that Russell wasn't the MVP on his TEAM in some of those years, or that Michael should have won more, ect., but in the long run it doesn't matter. Malone definitely deserved one at some point during his career, he was a hell of a player. No matter when he got it people would be complaining because Michael didn't win, at least on this board. By the way, Bird was definitely a SF for the bulk of his career. You could make a case for him being the best SF ever. In my book it comes down to him and Dr. J. Pretty good ratings right here i think. http://www.rawbw.com/~deano/hoopla/smfr3.html
  2. QUOTE(1917 @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) are you being sarcastic? Byrd= small foward.
  3. QUOTE(Brando Fan @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) WHat board
  4. Can we have an idiocy hall of fame? Knuckle would be the best entry by far.
  5. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) First you need to trick some woman into wanting to be with you... What os with the green?
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) If John Weisbrod is smart, he's on the phone to him right now. I'm sick of this no defense, and no Dwight Howard in the 4th quarter coaching under Johnny Davis. All that i know i howard is gonna be a superstar.
  7. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Maybe so. I can't remember a rush to get Bulls or Bears players in the other soxtalk drafts (I know not everyone here is a Bulls or Bears fan, but it is still a majority). I guess we'll know if a Sox player is taken in the first 5 rounds. Only player worth going within the first five rounds from the sox is an ex-sox player, carlos lee.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) Allen Iverson scores 60 points against the Magic and makes 24 out of 27 Free Throws. Everyone thought last year was the start of his decline. Damn do they look foolish now.
  9. QUOTE(silver and black @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) you all are going down... my first pick will be... magglio ordonez! You would too.
  10. f***ing bulls***. Not his fault they have a team full of underachieving cry babies that need more money to pay their families.
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) Each team has a representative. That needs to be changed though.
  12. I have seen shingo hit 90-91 nearly everytime he pitched last year.
  13. If he is not lieing oh man that would be great.
  14. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) I think we should wait till everybody has reported to ST in my opinion...Pitchers, catchers, and position players Will that really matter in the end? Say if burke made the team instead of davis? The team is 97% set i would say.
  15. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) What do you want for him to be considered an ace? His career era is near four and he has pitched in one of the very best pitcher parks in baseball. That is why i personally do not consider him an ace.
  16. He has aways been one of the cockier dirty players in the league. But it is down played because of how he treats the media and fans. I don't know how many things i have seen him get away with but he will still go down in history as one of the best shooters to ever play the game.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) Well, there's less then a week before pitchers and catchers report, nothing is really going on right now, all these publications are starting to make predictions. Anyone think it's time for the official soxtalk predictions thread?? or still to early? I am pretty sure we are done with any major moves. Starting one now can't hurt any.

  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Whatever, we'll see. I don't feel like arguing about the A's. Not arguing at all. That is how i see it. Guess we won't talk about rotations in the american league, eh?
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Yes, very much so. Isn't cruz going to be in the bullpen?? Also Blanton and Meyer haven't proven anything in the majors you can't just assume they're going to be good. I do know that they are in a much better position to be good for a long time. Haren, blanton, meyer, and even cruz have a damn good chance of being studs or number two starters. All of them tore up the minors except cruz but he is pretty damn nasty. Their pen is also loaded with young live arms.

  23. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) Will somebody please explain why Everett is called Jurassic on the site? Story time. He does not believe dinosaurs ever existed End of story.
  24. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) I can't recall how bad the HR's were that Farns gave up last year but some analysts seem to think he will do much better at Comerica than Wrigley. It's this easy. Wrigley is a hitters park comerica not so much. A monkey could say that and most likely be correct. This is an odd year and he will probally be great wherever he pitches for some reason.
